I know for a fact that if Christa Pike’s boyfriend had been the one sentenced to death instead of her, men would cry misandry (bit of a nonsensical vent but oh well)

Christa Pike was 18 when she committed the horrific murder, while her boyfriend was 17. Obviously he was a minor at the time of the crime, so she was sentenced to death while he was sentenced to life in prison. No women are arguing that the reason Christa was sentenced to death while her boyfriend was given life is due to misogyny. Because we acknowledge that his age was taken into account during sentencing. The reason he wasn’t sentenced to death is because he was a minor.

But I know damn well that if the genders and ages were reversed, (she was 17 and he was 18), and he was given death while she was given life, men would absolutely blame the sentence on misandry. We see this all the time. They pretend that double standards exist when they really don’t.

Like, a man could plan a murder, lure his victim into the woods, torture and murder his victim in cold blood while his girlfriend might have helped him with moving the body or something. The man gets life in prison and the girlfriend gets maybe 5 years. It’s obvious that the reason the man got the harsher sentence was because he was literally the one who planned and carried out the killing. The woman got a lighter sentence because she wasn’t involved in the violence. But men will literally look at you dead in the eye and tell you that the reason the man got a longer sentence is misandry.

I don’t know if this makes any sense but I see it all the time and it pisses me off.

Experiencing extreme nostalgia for a certain time period.

My grandmother used to collect old movies spanning from the 1920s to 1960s. I remember one particular Friday afternoon when I was 9 years old, my sister and I visited her home for a movie night. She suggested we watched a 1938 movie called “Listen, Darling” and we agreed. Judy Garland sings the song “Zing Went The Strings of my Heart” in this movie, and the second the music started playing, I felt an overwhelming amount of nostalgia. I can’t even describe it, it was such an insane sensation.

I had no idea who Judy Garland was, and I had never heard her voice before, but for some reason it felt SO familiar. Not just her voice, but the style of music, the fashion, and the way this 1930s film was shot and produced. Everything about this movie just screamed “I have been in that time period before”. When I got home, I looked up everything I could about the 1930s, and I kept getting hit with such an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia.

I didn’t really enjoy the sensation that much at the time, as I was sort of confused by this extreme, almost painful wave of nostalgia for a time long before I was born. But now 14 years later, I still listen to 1930s music and watch 1930s movies and it brings me such comfort. The nostalgia is still just as strong and it definitely still feels strange sometimes, but I’m used to it now. I get this same nostalgia from the 40s and sometimes the 50s too, but the 30s is definitely the strongest. I remember trying to see if I got this same feeling with other decades, so I looked up media from the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc, but I didn’t feel anything.

Anyway, I don’t even know if I believe in past lives, I just thought I’d share my experience with you guys. I’d love to know what you think, and if anyone here has gone through something similar.

genuinely wish I liked people, but I don’t. I feel like an introvert on steroids.

I''ve never enjoyed the company of others. It doesn’t matter how kind, interesting, smart, funny, etc someone is, I will still hate spending time with and talking to them. I know that sounds really harsh, but I can’t help it. I hate talking to people, it’s so boring and it drains all my energy. This isn’t me just being an introvert, I genuinely despise spending time with other human beings. I adore being on my own. Being married sounds absolutely awful to me, because I don’t want to share my home with another person. That sounds really selfish but it’s true. If I’m ever able to work from home and not ever have to interact with anyone, that would be perfect.

The only people I actually kind of vibe with are babies, cause you don’t have to make awkward small talk or worry about them judging you lol. But yeah, I wish I enjoyed human company, and I’ve tried very hard to. I’ve gone out to night clubs, evening classes, many places where you meet new people, trying to force myself to like socialising but I hated it. The whole time I was longing to go home and be by myself.

Men are saying that women shouldn’t vote because of the support for Lindsay Clancy.

I’m not American and I haven’t really been following this case. But the amount of men I see online saying that women shouldn’t vote is absurd. They argue that because many women support her, they should have their rights stripped away. Keep in mind that NO woman is saying that they are happy the children are dead. Everyone acknowledges how tragic this whole situation was. They ARE however, advocating for better treatment and understanding of PPP and PPD.

“New mothers need more support and their mental health should be taken seriously” does NOT mean “murdering children is fine”. Like bffr.

It’s also funny how they think women shouldn’t vote because of the support Lindsay is getting, but millions of men support known criminals like Donald Trump, Connor McGregor, Andrew Tate and Chris Brown. So based on their logic, should we remove men’s rights? I mean, that’s what they’re arguing for women.

This case really has brought out the misogyny in so many men. I’m tired.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there a way of removing the black line that seperates the wall and roof when I place wallpaper?

The amount of DMs I got after sharing my story on this sub is extremely concerning.

I made a post on this subreddit yesterday, but I removed it after people started to pop up in my DMs instead of commenting publicly.

One of the DMs I got was from someone who told me they had been abused as a child too. I was a bit suspicious about why they were privately messaging me and I was concerned that maybe they had creepy ulterior motives. So I said "that's terrible, I'm really sorry that happened to you", and left it at that. They then started to tell me more details about their abuse. I got unconfortable and blocked them, before I deleted my post.

I absolutely could be reading too much into this, and I hope I am. This could have been a completely innocent person who wanted to connect with someone who had similar childhood experiences. But the amount of people who decided to DM me instead of commenting publicly has me quite concerned.

I’m having a difficult time trying to figure out if this was COCSA or simply curiosity.

These memories have always been in the back of my mind, but I never really paid much attention to them. But for some reason for the past month or so, they have resurfaced really strongly and have been causing me a great deal of stress.

When I was 11 years old, a friend of mine (who was 12) was really curious about sex, kissing, our changing bodies, etc. I wasn’t interested in any of that stuff, but she was always incredibly eager to talk about those topics with me. One thing about this girl is she was extremely pushy in all aspects of life. If she wanted to do something, she’d find a way to do it. She was very outgoing, extroverted, etc. Meanwhile I was a very shy and reserved child.

One day, we were both hanging out after school in her room playing Minecraft. She brought up the topic of kissing, and how she wanted to try it. I personally found kissing gross (I still do, and I’m 21 now lol). I remember being very uncomfortable but I can’t quite remember if I explicitly said no and she pressured me into doing it. I might have agreed and gave consent even though I didn’t want to, but the details there are hazy. Anyway, we ended up making out for about 10 seconds, and I hated it. Fast forward about a week later, and she wanted to do it again. I said no. I told her that it made me very uncomfortable and that I didn’t want to do it again. She started trying to persuade me, saying we won’t do it for as long as last time, and it won’t be so bad. I don’t remember if I gave in and kissed her or stood my ground. I genuinely just can’t remember.

A few days later we were in her room again, and she asked me if I had grown any pubic hair yet. I said I had a little bit, and she said that we should show each other our private parts in the bathroom. I’m pretty sure I told her I didn’t feel comfortable doing that, however we did end up going into the bathroom and I pulled my trousers down to show her. She said “you have hardly any compared to me” before showing me her’s.

Another time I was in her room again and she told me she had an “urge”. As a shy 11-year-old girl who had no interest in sex, I wasn’t quite sure what she meant. She picked up a pillow and said we should both go into the bathroom one at a time to “relieve this urge”. I went in first and just stood there holding the pillow for about 2 minutes, unaware of what to do. Then she went in and stayed in the bathroom for about 2 minutes as well.

A little while after that, she said to me that we should practice having sex for when we both get boyfriends in the future so we know what we’re doing. Now, the details in this memory are very blurry. I specifically remember NOT wanting to do this at all. I might have pushed back saying I didn’t want to, but as a people pleaser, I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if I had agreed to it just to make her stop pressuring me. We didn’t actually have sex, but she lay on top of me (we were both fully clothed) and started going through the motions of sex. I hated it, it was extremely uncomfortable and icky, but I felt like I had to because I didn’t want to make her sad and let her down.

She told me that if she was a boy, she’d love to have me as a girlfriend. She also showed me pornography with a man and woman having sex in a shower.

Again, I don’t know if this was just harmless curiosity on her part, or if this counts as COCSA. I find it difficult to trust my memories on these events as they were so long ago, and I don’t remember if there were times I unwillingly gave consent or not.

I told my mum after these events occurred, and I wasn’t allowed to go over to the girl’s house anymore.

I feel like I made a mistake but I’m unsure…

About a month ago, I went through a really bad OCD spiral when I saw an artist’s Instagram account who posted their illustrations. Their art was very cartoonish and not graphic at all, however their artwork did contain a specific fetish and was intended to be somewhat erotic.

Anyway, I saw a drawing this person had posted on their Instagram and I wasn’t sure whether or not the character was supposed to be underage. I tried to look for clues about their age in the drawing but it was difficult to tell. I suddenly started panicking and wondering if I should report it for CP. I was thinking I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if it was CP and I didn’t report it.

Panicking and without thinking, I posted the drawing on Reddit, asking people if I should report it. 99% of the comments all said that it wasn’t CP at all, and told me to stop overreacting. However, one person commented that I should report it. At the time, I was just relieved that the vast majority of people told me that it wasn’t illegal and I didn’t pay much attention to the one comment telling me otherwise.

But now reflecting back, I’m absolutely terrified that the one person was right and if I committed a crime by sharing that drawing. Now I have visions of the police knocking on my door and arresting me for sharing CP.

Considering getting an anterior cingulotomy to get rid of my OCD

Because fuck this shit. I can't let OCD waste any more of my life.

Has anyone here had this surgery done? How did it work out for you?

Starting college at 21 and feeling a bit nervous

I am almost fully recovered from an illness that I’ve been suffering from since I was 17. I’m 20 now (almost 21) and hoping to start college later this year. Because of my illness, I was unable to attend college at 18, 19 and 20. Though I’m really excited to get started (the course is something I’ve wanted to do for years), I still feel a little sad that I didn’t get to experience college life at 18. I’m kind of scared that I’ll find it difficult to make friends and fit in because I’m a few years older. I know 21 is still really young, but I can’t help but wish I could have started uni at 18. Idk, this is probably a non-problem but it makes me a bit sad that I didn’t experience college during my teenage years.

For quite a while I’ve had the sense of being watched. I feel like there are hidden cameras everywhere I go, even though I know there aren’t. I’m terrified to be home alone because I never truly FEEL alone. Whenever I’m at home by myself, I’m scared to turn corners in case there’s someone waiting for me. Wherever I am, I constantly have to check behind and around me because I always have the sense of being followed.

I’ve also developed a sort of distrust of everyone within the last few months, even my own friends and family. Like they’re all secretly evil and are hiding it.

Honestly I don’t know what to do. I’m kind of scared to go to a therapist about this in case they think I’m crazy. I really hate feeling like this, it’s scary.
