I am a senior and next semester was going to be my last. There was one class I failed ( a humanities class ) that I thought I wasn’t going to have space to retake. Since I thought I needed to take 2 upper division electives for my major in the spring in addition to the 3 classes I was already taking. However, come to find out one of the classes I was already planning to take counts as an elective credit. So I’m like boom ok I can retake that class gonna be fire. Give the gpa a boost yk turns out the class not offered this spring. And im like bruh. This so annoying. Especially bcs the course was offered last spring and this fall.

So I came across a job posting for a forensic scientist in DNA in DC and decided to apply. One section of the application asked me to enter my work experience. When I want to enter my work experience it requires me to put a start date and an end date of said experience. Two of the things I am trying to add have not ended yet. This is because I am still in undergrad and I graduate in May 2027. When I go to press done for like adding it I get an error message being like end date can't be past current date. And I do not know what to do. I tried to find an email on the career website but I can't find one. What should I do?

1.) if I submit an application to a job posting in a crime lab and I meet all the basic requirements, will i automatically get called for an interview? Or is there anything in my application that could prevent me from getting an interview?

2.) The lab I want to work at is not in the same state my university is in. But I was wondering would it be helpful to talk to someone at career services center and ask if they know anyone / have any connections at that lab. And if they do will that help me at all?

Ok so my niece’s birthday is coming up on September 20th and she’s turning 2 and trynna think of a gift to get her. My original ideas was like Lego duplo bcs I like building legos and I thought getting her into the hobby would be something fun. But the more I think abt it I want to get smth more meaningful to where she will remember down the line that wow my aunt got me that. Anyone have any suggestion? I don’t want to do any dolls or stuffed animals since she has already. thanks so much.

Ok so for some context I’m a college student whose bday happens to fall on Halloween. And last year planned a birthday gathering with some friends at home chill lowkey have food hang out talk play some board games. Thing was bcz it was on day of Halloween some of the ppl had to leave early because they had actual Halloween plans. So we didn’t rlly get to enjoy the board game night properly. My birthday was on a Friday year.

This year my birthday is on a Saturday and I wanted to do smth chill again and lowkey. So planning an unsolved case file might with my friends. Problem is I’m worried same thing will happen again with someone having to leave early bcs of actual Halloween plans. And an unsolved case file takes a good couple hours to solve. And I can’t change the date because one of my childhood friends is most likely gonna be flying in specifically for my birthday since it’s on a Saturday. She would be leaving after work Friday getting her that night staying Saturday and Sunday afternoon going home.

So I’m wondering if I shd give up on doing unsolved case file night for my birthday because it might get cut short and do it for a different gathering. Or should I do it and accept the consequences of one person having to leave early.

Ok so I am a senior who will be graduating in May of 2027. I am a forensic science major which is only offered at west valley campus. When I was doing my research on asu before applying and after I got in, I found out that there are people who live in tempe and commute to west valley for classes.

However, my freshman year I decided imma live on campus and make it easier while I get used to this whole college thing. Freshman year turned into Sophomore year. Which the led to summer between sophomore year and junior year. Where I was looking to live off campus in an apartment. Was having a hard time finding any good roommates who were open to living off campus.

At this point I was considering living in Tempe and commuting to west valley for classes. But It was kinda far, kinda hectic, and my parents weren’t really that fond of the idea. But then I ended up finding someone looking for a roommate here and it worked out. We became friends and because of her I got introduced to rest of my friend group. And my college life took a drastic turn uphill. Since I finally had good friends. I had friends first two years but they were kinda mid.

But anyways throughout my time at ASU so far I have visited the Tempe campus for various things. Whether it be an event for my religous org, to meet someone, or for a class ( I had a class there one semester for Barrett ). And throughout those visits I always thought while Tempe is nice and has its perks its too big.

Yesterday however, went to visit a friend there, and ended up spending the night with her. And throughout that time I was there yesterday to evening to today early afternoon part of me was like I wish I could’ve lived in Tempe. Campus life seems like it would’ve been so much better, and it’s more lively. However, it got me thinking that if I had and if my major was based there, I wouldn’t have gotten the same experiences I’m getting now. And these specific experiences are giving me great experience for my reusme. Which will help me get a full time after college. But it got me thinking what would my life have been like had I lived in Tempe.

So I am an escape room/murder mystery fiend. Want to do something like that for my birthday. Was considering an unsolved case file but was wondering if there are any similar products that are budget friendly that I can look into. Thanks. I’m in the US btw.

So I am a student majoring in forensic science and at my university there is a conference scheduled for October. This conference is a humanitarian forensics conference which will have talks around like anthropology and bringing justice to missing, disappeared, and dead people.

My interest lies in forensic biology and DNA analysis. I am not sure if it will be worth it for me to go to this conference or not. In terms of networking and stuff. Please let me know what you guys think. Should I go? or would it not be worth my time. It’s a two day event.

I am a senior studying forensic science ad my program I am the only Indian student. So turning to Reddit to see if I can find anyone. If not oh well I tried but would be nice.

Ok so I am a senior in undergrad who wants to work in DNA. And in terms of all the required courses aka biochem, genetics, stats, and molecular bio. I have taken all except molecular bio which I will be taking my final semester. And if I were to apply to any open job postings now molecular biology won’t show on my transcript yet. Is there a way to indicate somehow somewhere that I will have it by the time im done? I know postings are hard to come across and I don’t wanna wait till molecular bio shows on my transcript as registered for next semester to apply. because who knows could’ve missed some position openings.

my favorite onion rings are from habbit burger and grill but ordering them all the time is gonna get expensiv. So was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on decent brands.

So I am in college and have some pretty good friends. Some of them are in same major some In different major. My two closest friends are in same major and I hang out with them the most. One person lives on campus and other person is my roommate and we live off campus. But we both come to campus pretty often and stuff so we all hang out as a group. The thing is I also have two friends in my major one a year younger than me and one in my grade. Except they both don’t come to campus as much. They come only for their part time jobs on campus which we share except we don’t work same shifts. And classes when they have to. They don’t participate in clubs much and don’t attend many events on campus. And times I hang out with my close friends I sometimes feel left out. Because they get to talk abt their major, same classes, post grad plans, and just things and general. And I can’t do that as much. The friend I have in my grade has shared some classes with me before and has some with me this semester but she doesn’t come to class much. And we don’t have many similar shifts this semester same with the friend younger than me. So what can I do? / How to cope?

So on my campus they recently built a space for engineering students and in this space there are 2 3d printers. I have never used a 3d printer before but think it’s really cool and want to get something 3d printed. The thing is I have a feeling if I just ask to use it i might get told yes even though im not an engineering student. However, I am too chicken to ask and also don’t know how to use a 3d printer. So If I ask and am allowed to use I wouldn’t know how to use and no guarantee that any of the students working in this space would know how to use it. Thoughts/ how should I go about this?
