Does anyone have any deeper knowledge on throwing technique?

I just missed a shadow Snorlax because I couldn't get the curveball to go far enough. Bummer!

I know the main skill is to eyeball the pokemóns height and distance, and memorizing this for future throws. It's mostly intuitive, I get it. But still, I think that there must be some techniques and knowledge which can be expressed through language.

Here's my own half-baked throughs on the subject. Please show me yours!

  1. My general feel is that there is a large degree of aim assist. Either that, or your throw is an illusion, where the game decide where the ball ends up, then calculate the curve of the throw.

  2. I'm unsure if the position where you start the throw has any influence. It might have some influence on smaller targets (this would make physical sense) but I simply can't gauge this.

  3. Regarding curveballs, I see two ways to go about it: A) move your finger in a super-small circle to activate the curve glimmer, then do a sudden swipe in the right direction, or B) Make a large stretched circle where the half where your finger moves roughly towards half past one (analog clock) fits your intended swipe, so that you can simply let go of the circle on its upper-right extremes.

  4. Curve-balling close creatures requires you to swipe almost vertically, as opposite to creatures further away which requires sorta half past one.

  5. It can sometimes be hard to gauge how big the creatures are. Look at the grass for comparison to get a sense of their scale.

How do I end a phone call?

I usually either exposing that I'm a bit to eager to escape, ("Thanks! Bye!) or I do this weird double-tap ("Thanks." "You're welcome" ... "bye." "bye")

Is there a good template for this? Perhaps "SHIT my dogs on fire again! BYE!"

I just played Mothergunship Forge, and would have absolutely loved it if not for the fact that 50% of the gameplay consisted of having an enemy outside my field of view and turning your head to spot it. I found that the most effective tactic was to constantly turn your head left and right so I don't miss any. This simply doesn't feel fun to me. I much prefer games like Blaston and Beat Saber where I know from which direction I have to face.

I'm curious—is this is a me thing, or do others feel the same way?

I had the throught that life could be improved if we just had strategies in place to deal with the things life keep throwing at you, or things you know will happen at some point.

For instance, if you're feeling okay, then it's time to do the things you can't do when things go downhill. Or this or that is how you're going to deal with family members wanting to talk politics. Or this is how you deal with the recuring everything-is-pointless realization.

Is there a term for this? It's not exactly pro-active, which is about acting beforehand. I'm thinking about having a plan for how to go about it when your life change in a somewhat predictable way.

I know there is a quote going somewhat like this: "The king cried twice; first out of sorrow, next out of empathy for his own tears."

But where is that from? It drives me absolutely bananas!

He want to buy some space in a local paper, advocading against the windmill which are going be build nearby.

Thing is, I have nothing against windmills, and I feel that the arguments against them are silly. So I'm sorta not so keen on working for something I don't believe in. On the other hand, if I don't do it, he just hire someone. I generally value personal relations higher than the minimal inpact I have on the world. Thoughts?
