Piece of history I just found: “Shopping in Metrics” published by the “Metric Advisory Board” with no date

Found this hidden on the inside of a second hand book. Any idea how old it is?

Please can we have UK English added to the app? This is not how we spell “theatre”.

Kia ora all,

User from New Zealand here. We use British English spelling, as opposed to American English, would love to be able to swap “home theater” to ”home theatre” please :)

(if there already is a way, please let me know!)

Cheers!

Edit: thanks for the award whoever that was! Never got one of those before.

Tell me about the characters y’all play in your versions of Eberron!

Here’s mine: A ninth level blue tiefling Archfey Patron Warlock, named “Kírtus”.

He grew up in the Silver Flame but was not accepted there on account of his devilish ancestry. His pact with an entity he believes to be Tira Miron.

DM hasn’t revealed yet if the patron actually is her or whether she is an Archfey in disguise. I’m open to either possibility.

He holds onto his faith despite his church not accepting him. Character inspired by Nightcrawler from X-Men

Astronaut Pi

Very old photo, but someone else's post involving Pi reminded me of it
(It's the same candy formerly known as "Eskimos", and therefore "Eskimo Pi")

Te Ara Tupua is *still* not on Google Maps!

I can't see how to add the new route. Someone has added all the Ūranga, but the path itself is not there when I try to use walking or cycling directions.

There is a stub of a path but not the whole route.

ELI5: how exactly do they plan on connecting the “Cross Valley Link” Road in Lower Hutt to the motorway?

The area it would have to join already has a big intersection, but the exit/entry goes the wrong way to connect to the Wakefield St end.

Tangential question, what do all the rich-listers on the other side of the river on White’s Line West think about this whopping great big road going through their currently quiet little suburb? It’s currently blocked at the east end, this will change that small part of the Hutt significantly.

Can I buy part of the house I live in, which is owned and rented from my father?

My wife and I have kiwisavers totalling about 1/6th of the value of the property, which we live in. The house needs a lot of work on account of a shoddy cover-up job by the previous owner.

Current owner (my dad) doesn’t have enough spare to fix the crap the previous owner covered up and did not declare on the sale, but if we bought a share he’d have that to fix it up. Is this a thing we can do?

Trip-o-meter jammed

The reset button in my 1995 Corolla is only working intermittently, how to make it work properly again?

Why do I rarely/never see anyone using locky docks?

Do people not know that you can tap your snapper on them for free bike storage without having to carry a bike lock? No app required!

I’ve used them a few times, both in the Hutt and in Wellington CBD, but every time I am the only user.

I was telling my 4F daughter the names of the various heavy machinery on a building site, and realised I don’t know what this machine is called.

My guess is something like “piling machine”? Am I right or wrong?
