I’m building an esports management simulator: what systems actually make running an esports org interesting?
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a project called Manager of Legends, a esports management simulator. (Basically, think Football Manager, but for esports)
The idea is not just playing matches, but actually dealing with the things that make following competitive esports interesting: building and rebuilding rosters, developing young players, hiring coaching staff, finances, international tournaments...
The long-term goal is to feel less like a sequence of matches and more like a persistent esports world where teams rise and fall, players develop, careers end, new talent appears and organisations build their own "history".
Right now the simulation is heavily inspired by the League of Legends competitive structure, but the management side is what I’m most interested in exploring.
I’m especially curious what people here think makes esports management different from traditional sports management.
The game is still very early and definitely not polished, but it’s playable directly in the browser if anyone wants to try it. You can find the links to play and all the info over on the Discord https://discord.gg/SqyBvgV9
Honestly, I’m just looking for some feedback. Let me know
What makes games like Football Manager so compelling?
I'm developing a "Football Manager like". Instead of football you manage an esports team in a fictional scene.
I'd love to hear from people who enjoy management/tycoon games: what is it about games like Football Manager that keeps you playing?
I'm especially interested in the small systems or details
Do you agree?
Some friends and me are working on a Moba Simulator (like a football manager) and we are collecting data about the champs. Do you think that this list is realistic?
From other mains subs I got the suggestion to create "skill matchup" and "even matchup"

I’m building a Football Manager-style game for LoL esports and I'm looking for feedback
Hi everyone!
I’ve been working on a Moba Manager: an esports team management simulator inspired by Football Manager, focused on the competitive League of Legends scene.
The idea is to let you manage an esports organization: build your roster, sign players and staff, scout talent, manage contracts, develop players and compete across different leagues and regions.
One of the biggest parts of the project so far has been building the game world. The current database includes:
- 1,500+ players
- 300+ teams
- 360+ staff members
I’m currently working on the alpha, and it’s completely free. I’m mainly sharing it here because I’d love feedback from people who follow competitive LoL closely.
In particular, I’d be really interested to know:
- Does the concept sound like something you’d play?
- What would a LoL esports management game absolutely need to get right?
- What parts of managing a competitive team would you most want to control?
- Is there anything that would immediately make the simulation feel unrealistic to you?
The game is in development, so criticism is extremely useful. Especially around the competitive ecosystem and features you’d expect from this kind of game.
If anyone is interested in testing the alpha you can find all the info in our discord: https://discord.gg/rpTbcExFvW
Thanks!

How different is HoS from Lol from a macro perspective?
Hi everyone!
I'm an indie game dev who is working on Moba Manager: a game like Football Manager in the esports scene. My long-term idea would be to make it compatible via mods with different MOBAs: Dota, Lol, HoS, Smite...
I have tons of hours playing League of Legends but I haven't experienced the rest. Could you talk to me about the biggest problems that I have to face?

Which recurring report or document is genuinely useful to you?
I’m trying to understand which recurring reports or documents actually help business owners make decisions.
For example:
- A monthly financial or cash-flow report
- A weekly sales
- A quarterly management report
- An inventory,
- A board, investor or client report
What is the most valuable?
It would also be helpful to know:
- What type and approximate size of business do you run?
- How often is the report prepared?
- What decision does it help you make?
- Who prepares it, and roughly how long does it take?
- What would happen if you stopped receiving it?
I’m not promoting or selling anything. I’m simply interested in learning how different businesses use recurring reporting in practice.
