June/July 2027 - Norway, Sweden, Finland. Traveling with teens who aren't big hiking people. Is my itinerary complete, good, terrible, etc? Please take a quick peek.

Itinerary help: Trip with 2 teens who love famous landmarks, iconic art, and extreme thrills (minimal hiking!)

Hey everyone! Looking for some help tuning our itinerary. I’m traveling with two teenagers, and to be honest, pure landscapes and nature walks just don't hold their interest. We want to see the beautiful land and country, but don't want to make that the entire trip. We aren't big hiking people, so we're focusing on high-impact, bucket-list experiences instead. They love world-famous landmarks (think Grand Canyon, Eiffel Tower level), famous, iconic art (the Mona Lisa types), and definitely extreme, unique, and thrill-based activities.

What are the absolute "must-do" famous spots or unique, high-energy experiences you’d recommend for this style of travel? Here's my first draft of an itinerary. We have 13-19 days to play with (plus an extra day on each end for international travel back to USA)

.

Norway:

Loen Skylift & Cliffside Via Ferrata. Nærøyfjord RIB Boat The Flåm Railway & Zipline Atlantic Ocean Road & Subsea Tunnels Bryggen Wharf (Bergen) Fløibanen Funicular Vøringsfossen Waterfall

Oslo:

The Bergensbanen (Bergen-to-Oslo Railway) Vigeland Sculpture Park Oslo Opera House Roof Holmenkollen Ski Jump Munch Museum Akershus Fortress

Gothenburg, Sweden:

Liseberg Park Gothenburg Archipelago Speedboat Universeum

Stockholm, Sweden:

Gröna Lund Vasa Museum ABBA The Museum Stockholm Archipelago RIB Gamla Stan

Helsinki:

The Stockholm–Helsinki overnight cruise ferry (Viking Line or Silja Line) Linnanmäki Park Temppeliaukio Suomenlinna Sea Fortress

Midnight Sun Rovaniemi Add-on flight/4x4

June/July 2027 - Trip from USA to Colombia, Ecuador, Galapagos, and Peru. 2 adults and 2 teens. I would love some feedback.

In the planning stages now so nothing is set in stone at all. I've never been on this continent and would love some feedback. With two teens in tow, we want to make sure everyone gets something amazing out of the trip. Doubt it is importnat but we're pescatarian (vegetarians who also eat seafood).

edit - Removed Colombia from the itinerary.

Fly into Quito, Ecuador. Ride the TelefériQo Cable Car up Pichincha Volcano for city vistas, take an easy day trip out to the Mindo Valley cloud forest for hummingbirds and canopy tours, and spend a night soaking in the hot spring pools at Papallacta Hot Springs.

Fly out to the Galapagos Islands for a few days.

Fly to Peru, visit the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

We've got about 13-19 days we can use for this trip. Is this doable? We don't mind a little bit of crazy, we might not be in this part of the world anytime soon again and we're happy to be moving a lot to fit as much in as we can right now. So my questions would be:

  1. Is the itinerary logical, or totally ridiculous and insane?

  2. Any places we MUST visit or really should never bother with?

I sincerely appreciate your time, thank you.

Argh- Lenscrafters put my orders in as "Featherwates Polycarbonate" because I want Crizal Natural Look (the new Sapphire replacement AR coating). I have a very mild prescription (-1.00 with -1.00 cyl) - is this a terrible material choice that I will regret using? It's hard to change bc of insurance

I asked Lenscrafters to do Sapphire on the plain CR-39 with Sapphire. They don't have Sapphire anymore, they switched to the new Natural Look. Alright, no problem. Two pairs, paid, ordered, done. But I look at the receipt and it says "Featherwates Poly" and I know that PC has some serious issues with both clarity and the prismatic reflection thing.

I spoke with Lenscrafters and they said it's a bit of a mess now because they can't cancel and then just place a new order - it could take 4-6 weeks for eye insurance to allow a new order to go through with coverage so that would be a crazy long delay for me.

So I'm wondering if I just stick it out with the Polycarbonate order and see how it goes? I'd love some thoughts on this. I'm unhappy the saleswoman was not honest with me about what she put it for my order..

My phone lost internet as i was on the Google Store site buying the P11 with the Fi promo ... and the order failed obvs. But now that promo is gone for me. ARGH. Not sure what to do..

It still shows me the AT&T deal, but the Fi one is gone when I browse the site.

50 year old - should I get progressives, or two pair of single vision? I spend most of my life on phone or laptop, but obviously watch TV and drive too. Help!

Had my exam and was offered a few different options and I'm not sure what I should do. I've never had anything buy single vision, never used readers before either. But aging happens..

So I got this that could use for either progressives with the add, or as single vision distance/driving glasses without:

. Sphere Cyl Axis Near Add
OD -0.25 -1.00 110 +1.50
OS -1.00 -1.00 030 +1.50

And also an indoor phone/computer/reading single-vision prescription:

. | Sphere | Cyl | Axis ---|---|----|----|---- OD| +1.00 | -1.00 | 110 OS | +0.25 | -1.00 | 030

So they were fine with me getting progressives (50/50), occupational progressive with the smaller distance pane up top, traditional progressives (smaller reading pane at the bottom), single vision distance and single vision phone/computer/reading ...

I need some input from people who know more about this please. I have sensitive eyes and am prone to migraines and eye strain pains. I feel like progressives, with their smaller pane of clarity, might be a bad idea for me? Get two pairs of single vision? Or try progressives and I might love it and get used to it?

Help! Thanks from a middle aged lady coming to terms with aging 😂

As someone who wears the Mellow Crocs every day, all day (slides inside, clogs outside), I'm disappointed in the Mellow 2.0 :-(

I have been wearing both of the new Mellow 2.0 styles for about ten days and I don't find them anywhere near as cushy and comfy and luxurious as the V1.0 Crocs. Not even close. They feel just like a standard Croc Croslite clog, more or less. A little softer, but nowhere near as soft and plush as the original version.

I don't hate them, but they aren't soft recovery shoes, IMO. I'm returning them both.

Does everyone trust AdGuard with CA Certificate for https monitoring? That gives them full access to all your banking usernames and passwords, right?

I'm new here but that makes me very nervous

Thinking of buying Maui Jim sunglasses, and having a place put prescription sunglass lenses in them. Any issues with that? I know some use "STG" (Super Thin Glass) - will that prevent shops from being able to put regular lenses in those frames? Should I avoid STG frames? Thanks all.

Has anyone seen Odyssey at MetroLux IMAX @ Centerra ? I'm hoping to hear if it's great quality or if they're having any issues or complaints. Thanks!

Instead of filming on 70mm film, should we be focusing on better digital IMAX cameras? The projectors haven't been produced in FIFTY YEARS and many are having real issues right now playing Odyssey.

If we focused instead of better 70mm-equivalent digital and installing more dual-laser projector on big screens around the world, wouldn't we be in a much better position going forward with future releases?

People with adjustable beds - do you have your Bedjet(s) at the foot of the bed or on the side entry port?

(I'd love /u/BedJetOfficial opinion here as well!)

We're moving from an old adjustable bed system to a new one - Sleep Number Split King - and currently we actually have one unit at the feet and one at the side (personal preference between my partner and I , I guess!) but I'm wondering if one is better given we'd love to utilize the Zero G feature of the new bed system which raises the feet a bit.

Thanks!

Rewatched the trilogy again for the .. 30th time? And my KID says something during III as they're in the drive-in theater that blows my mind - Marty should just go back to 1985. Everything will be fine. No need or reason to go to 1885. Doc will be there in 1985, the Doc he's with now in 1955.

In BTTF 3, if Marty had simply gone back to 1985, the doc he was with (1955 Doc) would have been there, knowing about the trouble in 1885 (and the trouble with the car that caused him to end up there) and Marty would have lived his best life, Doc would easily have avoided ending up in 1885, etc. The entire third movie, after they get the Time Machine out of the mine and repaired, is unnecessary, right ?

I think my kid is right. Are they? Talk me off the ledge.

People with very long streaks - is the app showing nonsense right now? I am at like 1330-ish days and it's suddenly showing me at 312 today. I check yesterday's and it says 269. The day before says 244. Wtf is going on?

Thought experiment about the speed of light : if you're on a large ship, a mile front to back, going 99.9% c, and you go to the rear and fire a gun towards the front, how fast will the bullet travel? Will it seem to be full normal bullet speed from your perspective?
