Can’t shift down to 2nd gear sometimes?

Hi there i have a 6 speed manual car that is 13 years old and bought it a month ago and sometimes I struggle to shift down to 2nd gear at 30km/hr. Like it’s physically impossible sometimes and I feel like I might damage the transmission if I actually force it to shift down to 2nd at 30km/hr. I even got my car serviced and they said the transmission was fine no issues and I was surprised.

So is there something wrong with the transmission like needs transmission fluid replacement or synchros replaced? Or is it just my driving style?

Edit: It’s a Citroen ds3 2013

How does UK compare to Australia in terms of dating/getting-a-date?

Hi there a 18AM from Sydney Australia (1.78~1.80m) and I was curious what is the dating scene like for in the UK compared to Australia? So far I got rejected 3 times by WF in the past month and that's great! (Because at least I tried bc majority of the AMs wouldn't even take a shot and think they will get rejected; it's normal to get rejected). I tried to improve myself such as rocking different outfit styles and stuff and still have the same thing.

Also what is the dating scene like in the UK compared to Australia? I can only speak for Australia (Haven't went to the UK before but would love to go there). Esp in Sydney/Bondi, I have observed the interaction of AMs and WFs is basically zero and I wonder why?

I recently got an ad about UK Work Visa Holiday and made me tempted to work there next year or two.

7800x3d or a 9800x3d?

Hi there I'm currently on a a Ryzen 9 5900x with a Radeon 9070xt with 64GB of ram and I'm deciding of whether which processor to upgrade to as I mainly play ETS2/ATS in 4K (native) and my 1% lows have been terrible and plus occasional microstuttering/stuttering. Afaik those games are CPU intensive. I already bought a MSI B650 Tomahawk Motherboard and buying DDR5 ram soon and I'm deciding between a 7800X3D or a 9800X3D and not sure which one to get. I don't want to upgrade for like 2-3 years once I get one of the CPUs

Which thing should I upgrade?

I know that Coaches/Road Trip is coming soon and I’m not too sure if we are even going to get an engine improvement in 1.60 like finally multi core rendering, I saw about the first update of blog post of 1.60 where they tweak the UI and stuff.

I currently have a Logitech G29 with shifter and my PC specs are Ryzen 9 5900x with 9070xt with 64gb ram. I’m on ultra settings all of the time and here and there, there is micro stutters in the game and I’m sure if upgrading to a processor such as the 7800x3d going to improve performance right now as ETS2/ATS currently doing single core rendering.

And plus the steering is a bit lacking in my Logitech g29 just up to 900 degree steering like it’s very easy to drive off-lane when looking at something.

When Coaches/Road Trip comes out, I’m thinking of upgrading to a 7800x3d or a 9800x3d system or buy a Moza Truck Bundle Steering wheel but not sure which one to decide.

Cigarette smell after mechanic repair

Bought a used hatchback around 2 weeks ago and had a major oil leak repaired this week. Mechanic had the car for a couple of days and also test drove it overnight because an engine/service warning came back after repair.

After getting the car back, I noticed a cigarette smell inside the cabin that I don’t remember being there before. I asked the mechanic and he said they don’t smoke in customers’ cars.

The car also had a new cabin filter fitted during the repair.

Could the smell just be from mechanic clothes/workshop smell or leftover odour in the HVAC system? Any good way to get rid of it?

Hori or Moza Truck Steering wheel?

I'm currently deciding between a Hori or a Moza Truck Steering wheel but not sure which one to buy. The Hori is 400 dollars more expensive in my country Australia than the Moza but it includes a gear shifter as well. I'm not too sure if the Hori Steering wheel supports like Eaton aftermarket shifters like how the Logitech H shifter does and stuff. I will buy one of them by the time Coaches or Road Trip releases.

It doesn't say transmission condition on my P1 NSW License

Hi there I'm based off NSW. I recently passed my driving test on a manual car and got my P1 license and it doesn't say about the transmission condition on my license. I just says that 'Drive up to vehicles with 4.5 tonnes' and that's it. So I am allowed to drive manual cars right?

I'm currently looking for a DS3 in my country and it is pretty niche car in here and I saw a listing where it doesn't have the LED tailight and doesn't have the screen infotainment system and I was wondering if I can swap it to the LED tailight and replace the infotainment system which is a rectangular screen to a 10" screen from other highter trim DS3's? Would that be cross compatible?

So far I have observed that the majority of the P1 drivers especially in Sydney (from where I live) drive auto cars and I wonder how many of current P1 drivers have their manual license.

Edit: I'm 18 getting my P1 license (driving test) on a manual car very soon and currently on my learners license and I can't go back to driving an automatic after driving a manual.

Hey everyone, I’m 18 from NSW and about to get my P1 (manual) very soon. I’m deciding between a small European hatch (around 2013–2016) like a Clio or DS3 vs something more common like a Corolla/Yaris. I don't want a Volkswagen-Group hatch as they have higher service/repair prices.

I’ve recently found one example that looks well maintained with good service history, but I’m unsure about reliability, parts availability, and whether it’s a good idea for a first car. Would you recommend going for a Euro hatch as a first car, or sticking with something more mainstream?
