Vortec heads

Going to college next year, throughout college I plan to collect some parts for my truck, vortec heads, 1.6 rockers, suspension parts etc... anyways, what ate some upgrades that should be done to vortec heads, like valve springs? Rocker studs? What? I will also be doing a decent intake, distributor, maybe a carburetor, maybe a cam, idk all depends on what I decide, the truck is very healthy rn just wanting more power!

Got the front lowered

Got bored today so figured I'd go out and goof with the thing, I notched the frame so I could flip the axle over, flipped the spindles, cut the frame to make clearance for the tie rods and steering linkage. Its getting there, so far pretty happy with where its at.

Anybody use jegs distributor?

Thinking about getting this for my 86 c10, it currently has an hei with some random wires that are way too long, and no vacuum advance, I just wanna know if anyone's used this distributor before and if its a good deal?

Best ways to lower

Im planning on fixing the suspension on my c10, previous owner heated the front coils to drop it, and took out a shit ton of leafs in the back, I plan to go back to original leaf spring and just flip the axle, in the front ive thought about 2 inch drop spindle and 2 in drop coil, im going for a 4/6 drop, this truck is currently my daily so I dont wanna ruin ride quality, I still wanna drive it and not break my back when I hit the many potholes where I live, advice is appreciated!

Starter issues

Short story, bought the truck last year knowing the starter was going out, it came with a new one at least, when the old starter went out I replaced it, about a year later the new starter started grinding, I seen that the brass bushing was shot and causing that gear to move too much when cranking, I ended up taking the solenoid off the starter that had the grinding issues and putting it on the old starter which the solenoid had went out on, it is now fixed! (Minus cranking slow when the engine is at operating temp)

▲ 1 r/Wiring

Pulled this spotty wiring off my 86 c10 sbc to fix it with a decent wiring job, just thought it was funny lol, and it was somehow functioning

So I checked my oil the other day (to make sure it wasnt low) it had milkshake really bad, got it home, drained the oil, no milkshake in the oil, checked the breather, it had milkshake innit. Cleaned both off, checked after all that, didn't see any milkshake, checked today, milkshake on the dipstick again, what is going on, no oil is in the coolant, it runs fine, doesn't smoke. Im really confused, truck is an 86 c10 with a 350 small block.
