[Heroes-For-Hire Lore] Goblinification Brain Shock

Fairy psychologists indicated that when an adult is suddenly and forcibly regressed to an infant-like state, their cognitive process enters a "negotiation phase."

During this period, the mind effectively shuts down traditional learning modes and does not operate with the speed typical of either adult or infant brains. Instead, it takes time to assess whether the experience is biologically advantageous or that this whole time, it has deluded the person into adulthood and was still a child.

This phenomenon may explain delayed reactions to"goblinification." Some goblins have come to accept their identity as perpetual infants, while others continue to behave as if they are experiencing the ideal "grown-up life".

I HATE BUREAUCRACY

  • To get a job, you need job experience, which you will only get when you have a job!
  • The picture above!

I submitted my birth certificate to my university to meet the requirements of my graduation. And, OH MY GOSH! They did not accept it because it is old!!! But it is not THAT old! Why? Because nothing much has changed from the certificate in those ten or twenty years, except the fact that it has stopped using bar codes and started using QR Codes for scanning it in the government database!

Okay! I understand using updated version of a birth certificate because the government agency has changed its name many years ago, and scammers are so outdated with their methods in my country that they still use the old name of that government agency!

But today, all that has changed is that they have stopped using BAR CODES!

No wonder vampires are afraid of them

[LORE]

The first children, the spirits, are beings of pure essence---souls that exist beyond form, born from the very abstracts of the divine’s boundless grace. The second children---plants, animals, the smallest creatures---are born from the raw, primal power of the divine made manifest in flesh and bone.

When a spirit "dies," its essence does not vanish but disperses. It will search endlessly until it reclaim wholeness. An animal or a plant, when their destiny comes, their "green force" fractures and scatters, reborn again and again through new forms, eternally cycling in the relentless dance of survival and evolution.

But the third children hold an unprecedented uniqueness. They are born with both body and spirit united---living images of the enigmatic grandfather of the gods himself. Their very existence is a divine bridge, a luminous connection between the spiritual and physical worlds.

Rumors rampaged among the first and second children about their incredible potential---claims that these third children is capable of some form of ascension. The question is often asked: Are humans beasts with the intellect and wisdom of spirits?

In the malice of the Age of Grimdark, the Cornucopians executed horrific experiments. They transplanted animal organs into humans and vice versa. Out of this chaos arose bio-weapons---false therianthropes driven mad by the loss of their true selves.

The origins of true therianthropes remain shrouded in mystery, time and myth.

Legends say that the God-Emperor of Cornucopia, who, desperate to emulate the divine, sought to forge his own creatures. Yet, all he achieved was destruction---the creations he birthed ended their lives in suicide, broken and nihilistic. Driven by a hunger for ultimate knowledge, he commanded his most trusted scientist to unveil the secret of life itself.

Centuries of relentless trial and error culminated in one conclusion: Love.

The scientist discovered that to truly create life, one must entwine it with love---be it selfish desire or genuine kindness. Against all odds, he crafted a being free from hatred of itself, a creature born of hope amid chaos.

And in that moment, the scientist’s eyes were opened to the sins encouraged by the empire. Fear and guilt strike him where it hurt most, and he fled with his "child," desperate to protect this fragile hope. Alas, the empire’s darkness was swift---the God-Emperor of Cornucopia found the new traitor.

In despair and sorrowful repentance, he begged to the gods, the very gods his empire dared to defy, for mercy for his forsaken son. And then, in a burst of radiant, prismatic light---peace and awe shimmering through the darkness both within and without his heart---the child in his arms spoke, in two voices intertwined:

"Is this what it means to be human, father?"

Before she became a Hero-For-Hire, she was already hitting like a tank.

Princess Elena's Passive Ability:

If the opponent's HP is reduced to half or less than of its maximum value, you can use your bonus action to punch them and, unless they are a boss, instantly defeat them.

You either fight against the Heroes-For-Hire, or You deal with an obsessive Spirit of Vengeance.

Currently, there is no available intel on this Spirit of Vengeance. All there is to consult are unverifiable stories with versions varying from culture to culture, including urban legends. It is even unknown if there is only one spirit or it is a group of spirits. Maintaining peace between the nations in the Age of Fairytales, destroying remnants of the Cornucopian Empire, these are merely one of the reasons the clandestine and holy mercenary order publicly known as the "Heroes-For-Hire" was established. The Spirit of Vengeance metes out punishment in extremes, and so, must be outraced before it causes collateral damage.

  • RACISTS: (The picture above)
  • GLUTTON: There was a man of noble birth who ate for entertainment while everyone else, especially the peasantry, starved, but nothing satisfied him. The next day, he was infected by a disease that emaciates him slowly, and gives him a tiny mouth and giant stomach. In front of him is the most delicious and mouth-drooling banquet he has ever seen. Each food is a unique work of art, inviting, and loves to play hide-and-seek.
  • GREEDY: How strange it is that we put so much value on colorful papers and shiny rocks.
  • BULLY:
    • For making fun of someone's appearance, you will be sent to a world where everyone looks like you. After all, you look very handsome, correct?
    • Mocking an orphan? Sounds like you do not need your family.
  • ABLEIST: *Bones cracking
  • A CIVILIZATION/CULTURE THAT FAVORS ONLY MEN: Pleassseee..... Do try to reproduce....

Heroes-For-Hire are oathbound to never stoop down to their enemy's level, but you know the manure has hit the air vents once he does this.

Adobo Manach's passive ability grants him the spell "Eldritch Mockery", which allows him to dig deep into his target's psyche, then use the information gleaned against them. Deal damage according to the severity of the target's and Mission Control's and the squad's reaction to the insult.

Yeah, but I still want reworks! Augments should be game-changers or fun-enhancers, not band-aids!
