Part time jobs/side hustles recommendation?

Hi everyone,so I have worked part time jobs as picker/packer and warehouse assistant which earned me around ($1,600 to $2,000) per month. I mostly worked 9-6 Mon-Fri and 9-1 on Sat. I just wanted to ask,are there any other jobs that are able to earn more or if lets say I go back to just being a picker/packer. Are there any like side hustles I can do? I know of people that purchase 2nd-hand handbags/purses and resell and have friends that do grab too.

Right now I am actually on a gap year before going back to year 3. I studied Accountancy and Finance. Not sure whether I might be able to get into a job in that sector too to gain working experience? Thank you so much.

Back rimmers and free throws.

I am a streaky shooter and there are times where I just hit backrim 3-8 times in a row and its annoying as if I judt adjust a little bit,it would have swish. May I ask how do I combat/fix that. I also have a issue with shooting free throws,I am not a bad three point shooter but my free throw sucks. Its kinda weird, its either I score 5-7 free throws in a row,or just hit/miss/hit/miss/miss.

Currently on a gap year, other than part time jobs, what side hustles can I do that can bring in around $2000 per month?

Hi guys,I (20,M) am currently on a gap year to recover and get better from some mental health issues before going back for my last year in poly.

I want to earn money and obviously there are part time jobs but I have worked a lot of them and it seem like the supervisors/full timers love to target me tbh. Idk is it because I am short and obese so I look "easy". I work work but still get picked on the most so it is what is it.

Before going for another part time job which I would hate,I would love to ask are there anything else I can do on my own that can bring in lets say $2000/month ish?

I had friends told me about tiktok selling one piece/pokemon and it worked well for them (one of them earned $10,000 in a month/another earned $3000 in a week). Sadly, they didnt really to me any details but I feel like trying but also is very uncertain.

Thanks for reading!

How do I become a better person/friend?

Right now,I feel miserable. I recently just pushed my last 2 buddies of 13 years and my 1 last other friend away as I had depression and I didnt want it to affect them. Its not my first time doing this,I just didnt want to ruin the mood with them talking about their girl/side hustle, overseas trips and all those happy stuffs and when its my turn,I only have negative stuffs to talk about such as a gambling addiction, depression, low self esteem, obesity and just being miserable at life.

I did tried to fix and improve myself a couple of times but I just fail each time and just dig a deeper hole. I am alone right now with absolutely 0 friends and am on my 2nd gap year from studying at 20 years old. I feel so sad. Its been 1.5 months since my gap year started and I wanted to work/get a driving license/lose weight and everything to improve my life but I do not have any willpower/motivation to continue any longer. I thought I was just taking a break 1.5 months ago but right now,it doesnt seem like it.

Is it a foul?

We were playing half court 3v3s and when my team were shooting, the defenders kept pushing us with 1 arm mid air and we obviously called a foul but we got called "Aiya, pussy foul, give them, give them." I mean it wasnt that hard of a push but its still a foul right?

Am I too aggressive?

Ever since young, when I play defense and they drove in,I will always push them back with my off-arm. I am not extending my arm outward though,I am placing my arm infront of my chest like a chicken wing ish and they pushing them back when they try and drive in.

Some skinny players were complaing that it was not legal so I really wanna know. Thank you!

Weight stuffs for obese me

Hi guys,just wanted some advices/insights.

For context,I am 159cm/5'3 and 104kg/230ish pounds, obviously I am obese and I want to change that. I am planning to lose around 30-34 kg in 8 months and right now for my diet,I am targetting 100-110g of protein and 1600-1700 kcal for the day. Is that a good target?

My playstyle is threes and a lot of hesi/crossovers so I wanna be quicker/more explosive and look better.

Edit:More context,I am 50% bodyfat

Stuck at zero

I (20M) hate myself and I always will. I have absolutely no friends now as I dont feel its worth it for someone like me. I dont have money despite working about 1 year of part time work due to my gambling addiction of 4 years. I am severely obese with 102kg at 158cm tall because I binge eat a lot which lowered and demolish my already thinning self esteem. I am currently on my 2nd gap year from studies and my polytechnic which means I am 2 years behind all of my peers and the grades arent that good to. I also have social anxiety as since young,I am always targetted by bullies and girls always look at me with disgust as well eventhough I try my best to be as kind as possible. I really want to get out of this mess I am in right now but I seem to have no willpower left, what is there to live for anyways? I typed these in another subreddit before and people were just saying I am just self-pitying myself.

Depressed and its all my fault. Do someone like me even deserve another chance? Any words of advice, encouragement?

Hi everyone,I (20M) has been depressed for the past 4 years due to my gambling addiction and social anxiety.

For the first time in my life,I would be going to see a private psychiatrist next week with my mother.

Due to my gambling addiction,I already took a gap year in 2023 from poly studies in NYP as right in the beginning of the semester,I experienced my first major gambling loss of my life and just fell into depression. I missed classes, took MCs and even fake an MC where I was caught as well. During that time,I was crying day after day and just pushed everyone away from my social circle as I thought I was just a burden to everyone. At that time,I didnt tell my parents about it and merely gave an excuse that I wasn't interested in the course when I withdraw from studying in that course. My parents are extremely old at their late 60s and 50s respectively alongside my sister who has down syndrome and require more of their attention. I didnt want to worry them and stress them out at all. Up till that year,I had no problems in primary and secondary school at all. I had good grades and good conduct which was probably the reason why they trusted me to make my own decision and allowed me to withdraw from my course.

I promised them I would take a part time job and work and pay for my own expenses while also secretly making a promise to myself that I would quit gambling forever that year and leave everything behind me. During that gap year,I worked for 8 months straight in a warehouse as a picker/packer. It was the most tiring stretch of time in my life and I was the most alone I ever felt as I pushed my 2 closest and only friends away. I considered myself a parasite to our friend group.

During the 8 months of work,I made a plan to prevent me from gambling which was to transfers the money to another account which no one had access to other than my mother. It worked for the first few months,I was able to deflect any distractions and any urge to gamble and was able to transfer money to the other account with no issue. Until the day where I decided to ask my mother to allow me to withdraw some money from the account so I can buy some stuff for myself as a reward for working so much. I didnt purchase anything and fell back gambling. Each time I withdraw money by asking my mother,my mother would asked why am I withdrawing money again so soon and I would just brush it off as hanging out with friends/collrcting cards and sneakers as a hobby. Each time, she didnt question it as she trusted me to know to do better and to be independent. Up to today,I am still blaming myself for taking advantage of her trust in me.

After the gap year,I applied to TP and studied in a business course with of course,0 personal savings left.

I placed that behind me and once again decided that now with my education commercing with this 2nd chance that I got,I would quit gambling once and for all. This time around,I had more restrictions which I was in a book,I wrote down the amount of money I had loss and also the experiences of losing every amount of money earned by blood and sweat. In my phone,I screen -shotted stories from anti-gambling sub reddit sites to remind myself what my future would become if I continued gambling again and did not stop. However,it did not work at all. During 2024 and 2025,during every semester break and study break,I would work part time everyday from 9-6 to earn money. Each time I received my pay, within a week,I would lose everything to gambling again. This of course, affected my studies and attendance in school but I still managed to scape by getting a 3.12 cGPA with reaching the mininal requirement for attendance. During the 2nd half of 2025,I asked my mother for money from the other account that she managed. The money lost stated previously was only the money I had work from part time in 2023. The account actually also includes money from my bursary, edusave and scholarship awards. This time round,I withdrew even more money and even worse, lost it all in that night. 2 months later,I somehow convinced my mother to let me withdraw money again and lost in the same night again. A few months later, the same thing, withdraw and lost in all in the same night.

Each time I gamble,it felt like I wasnt in control with myself at all. I felt like a different person,I felt excited and my heart was pounding from the doplamine hits. Only after I lost the money then I realise what I had done and thoughts of what I could had done with the money keep flooding my head.

Due to this addiction,I fell into depression again and again. My self esteem is always at its lowest and I almost never have any energy left as my brain is fried. I stressed eat a lot and gain a lot of weight till right now 105kg at 162cm tall. I also have social anxiety as each time I go out,I feel that everyone is judging me for how trash of a person I am. Whenever I walk past a group of people,my heart would always be pounding hard and tighten. Whenever a girl look at me,I feel like she is thinking about how ugly and obese I am. There is just so much voices in my head whenever I step out of my house.

This year was the worse of any. In January,I maxed out my MC submissions before mid-sem and had to arrange a meeting between my mother, course chair and care person. This was the first time I confessed to my mother what has been happening in my life and that I had been gambling for the past 4 years. After confessing,I immediately burst into tears and it was the first time my mother has seen me cry in the last 10 years. I didnt know how my mother would react and I think my mother herself also didnt know how to react with such a big piece of information suddenly revealed to her as the only thing she did was pat my head and console me. It was bad to the point where my lecturers were recommeding me to defer from this semester. However, hearing that,my mother was extremely stressed as I had already took out a gap year before and she is afraid that I would just be wasting my life. I never seen my mother like that before and considering how there were just 2 months left in the semester,I decided to push through instead. With my secret now revealed to my mother,I think everyone in my position would had definitely not touch gambling again. However,in the next 6 months,I still gambled and felt deeper into depression. For the first time ever,I had missed assignments and maxed out MCs submissions and had no choice but to defer from this semester as I just couldnt place my head to study anymore.

Next week,I would finally be going to a private psychiatrist in hope of getting my life back and to stop ruining my family. I also would be going to IMH in August. I know that everything is my fault and I just wished my parents' son wasnt me and anyone else would have been better for them. I posted on this subreddit before and people were calling me things but I know I deserve it.

[L] Depressed and its all my fault. Do someone like me even deserve another chance? Any words of advice, encouragement?

Hi everyone. I'm a 20-year-old male who has been struggling with gambling addiction, depression, and social anxiety for the past four years.

Next week, I'll be seeing a private psychiatrist for the first time with my mother, and I'll also be going to IMH in August. I'm hoping it's the start of getting my life back.

My gambling addiction began in 2023 while I was studying at NYP. After my first major loss, I fell into depression, stopped attending classes, took MCs, even submitted a fake one, and eventually withdrew from my course. I told my parents I had simply lost interest because I didn't want to burden them. My parents are older, and my sister has Down syndrome, so I wanted to avoid adding more stress to their lives.

During my gap year, I worked in a warehouse for eight months and promised myself I would quit gambling. I transferred my salary into an account only my mother could access, but eventually I asked to withdraw money, lied about why I needed it, and lost it all gambling. I hated myself for abusing her trust.

In 2024, I enrolled at TP for a business course and tried again to quit. I wrote down every loss, kept reminders of the consequences, and read anti-gambling stories, but nothing stopped me. Every semester break, I'd work hard, receive my pay, and lose everything within days. I even withdrew bursary, Edusave, and scholarship money from the account my mother managed and lost it all the same night—more than once.

Whenever I gamble, it feels like I'm no longer in control. I become consumed by the excitement, and only after losing everything do I realize what I've done.

The addiction has destroyed my mental health. I've become depressed, isolated myself from my friends, gained weight (105kg at 162cm), and developed severe social anxiety. Whenever I'm outside, I feel like everyone is judging me, and even making eye contact with strangers makes my heart race.

This year has been the hardest. After repeatedly missing classes and using too many MCs, I had a meeting with my mother, lecturers, and course staff. That was when I finally confessed everything. I broke down crying, and my mother simply comforted me. Despite knowing the truth, I still relapsed several times over the next six months. Eventually, my depression became so overwhelming that I missed assignments and had no choice but to defer this semester.

I know I've made many mistakes and hurt the people who trust me most. I carry a lot of guilt and often feel like a burden to my family. But I'm finally seeking professional help because I don't want gambling to control the rest of my life. I'm sharing my story because I hope recovery is still possible, even after years of relapsing.

This version stays under 3,500 characters while keeping the main events and emotions intact.

Gambling addict forever?

Been gambling since I was sixteen 4 years ago, it all started when I turned $200 to $10,000. It felt amazing to have so much money without putting in any hard work at all and having so much money at such an young age.

I lost everything and eventhough there were times where I could have breakeven and let this be a dangerous one time experience where I could have netted 0 losses. I decided to go back and now these past 4 years,I have a net loss of $17,000. The money and time that I have wasted just make me fall into depression.

I am 20M and I just dont know about my future anymore. The scary part is I still want to gamble despite having no money in my name at all. I am thinking of ways to get money to gamble since I have literally won thousands from deposting $20. Its so stupid. I literally had to quit school after losing the $10,000 at 16 as my brain and mindset were messed up and I kept blaming myself for being a retarded pig. Gambling has already took away my joy for life and make me a depressed and obese pig. I want to stop but its seems impossible. The past 4 years, every allowance, every paycheck, every bursary and government support have all been gambled away by me. I am so drained.

I see my friends having a good amount of savings,go to the gym and have their own individual loving girl friends but here I am. Gambling addict, short and obese and a worthless and useless idiot with $0 savings. I just want to forget about this but I dont think its possible at all but I cant even kill myself because my family needs me for the future, probably.
