Yesturday the bus would not read my omny card.

Had to walk 20 minutes to the train, where the card worked fine. This is the second time this has happened. The first time i thought it did go through but the ticket nazis stopped my bus and guess who got a ticket. They left me stranded in a neighborhood I was not familiar with. What if i didnt have a phone to find a subway? What if i got lost wandering.

Screw the omnycard, screw the omnycard readers on the bus, screw the mta and screw the ticket nazis. This entire system sucks.

What am i missing for a good melodic metalcore/ numetal / hardcore/ alt, setup?

Guitar > no frills tuner > moskey silver horse > boss ds1 > hall of fame 2 > flaskback 2 > clean amp.

Was thinking maybe change up my gain staging or switching to an amp/ir modeler. Thoughts?

How do you feel about the TC Polytune 3? Is there a better option?

I dont really like the screen but the polytune ability seems really awesome. Im a pedal noobie and building up my first board. I already have tc flashback 2 and hall of fame 2, so maybe this would be too many tc pedals?

Does anyone like this or hate this pedal? Thanks! This community has been so helpful to me!

I dont really think this bed is gonna fit like that in this bedroom. Whats with all these absurd staging images.

Those windows look 2ft wide each. The bedroom is probobly a jr at best, 5ft wide. No way even a twin is fitting there. Whats with all these staged images with deceptive proportions?

Saw a video about canyon pedal showing momentary footswitch signal drop. Has anyone experianced bad latency on pedals? How to avoid?

It's pretty disappointing, saw the video on GearGasms on yt. I think the pedal is awesome but some songs have delay on only during the verse or something, so if you want to turn it off, there should be no latency between switch on/off. The crazy thing is manuafactors do not tendbto list this kind of latency, nor do retailers.

Genuinely want to build a pedal board for the first time but i'm conflicted on getting the right pedals for the job. Any advice or learned experiances, brands to avoid, etc would be really helpful.

For drop b, drop a, should i get a 7 string or a baritone?

Id really like to learn alot of drop b and drop a songs and was thinking either of getting a 7 string or a baritone. Can anyone offer their advice? Looking to play slipknot, taproot, and nu metal and more modern metalcore stuff. The lowest i can down tune my 6 string les paul is drop c and still intonate, barely.

If you have any suggestions on specific guitars, that would be great too. Thanks!

Tried Zyn 1st time, is this normal... ?

Hi all. I am a regular Newport cigerette smoker (100s) and wanted to switch to zyns to get off of ciggs. I bought a 6mg coffee flavor and went to see the fireworks last night. I knew i couldnt smoke a cigg in the crowd so i tried the zyn. My entire mouth was pins and needles almost instantly. I also felt an odd pressure in my neck a burp wanted to come up but couldn't. I needed to drink gulp of water to back it off.

Was that because it was 6mg? Should I try a lower one? Do the lower ones have the same impact? Do you guys always get that pins and needles taste? Was it because I got the coffee flavor ?

Side note: I've tried nicoteen gum before, the zyn was like that same flavor but way more intense and instant. Overwhelmed me.

How did you enjoy the fireworks show?

I feel that it was mid at best. Went in person, and the nypd seemed disjointed regarding where the lines would start and end. Terrible crowd control and directions. The fireworks show was no where near as good as last year. How did you like it? Did you enjoy it in person?

This isnt really a rant, I just wanted to know that i'm not the only one who thought this.

Look for advise on signal chain...

I was thinking of setting up a pedal board for the first time and want to bypass my halfstack head. Its a line 6 spyder2 and everything on it sounds bad, but ive read that the cab itself has some pretty good speakers.

So far, this is the signal chain i was thinking of going with:

Guitar > Noise gate > Tuner > Compressor > EQ > overdrive > Distortion > noise gate 2 > Preamp > Delay > Reverb > Power Amp pedal > Spyder2 cab

Is this a valid board or am i making rookie mistakes here? My goal is a flexable hi and low gain options.

Look for an assist, took apart noisey "boss heavy metal" pedal and the output jack does not seem to have a grounding wire and input jack has a detached yellow wire. Please see pics.

Does anyone know if the output should have a ground line attached (there is an available prong)?

Where would the other end attach?

Im assuming the yellow wire connecting the input to number 5 on the board is not connected to the input. No idea what this does.

For refference, i heard the same buzzy static im used to hearing on guitars with very bad grounding issues.
