Is AWS Partner Certification Readiness voucher available for students?

I came across the AWS Partner Certification Readiness program, which seems to offer a free AWS certification voucher after completing the requirements.
I’m wondering if college students with a valid student email ID are eligible for this or if it’s strictly for AWS Partner employees assigned by an AWS Partner organization.

I couldn’t find the student eligibility clearly mentioned on the AWS site, so I’m thinking it might be worth trying.

AWS Certification Path After Cloud Practitioner

Hi everyone!

I recently completed the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam after studying consistently and honestly, it has been quite a journey. I learned a lot more about AWS than I initially expected and now I’m really interested in going deeper.

I’m thinking about going for an AWS Associate level certification but I’m not sure which path would be the best choice.

Since I’ve only learned AWS up to the Cloud Practitioner level so far I know I’ll have to put in a lot more work. The three paths I’m mainly considering are...

  • AWS Solutions Architect -- Associate
  • AWS Developer -- Associate
  • AWS CloudOps Engineer -- Associate

I’m a CSE graduate and currently preparing for placements as a fresher so I want to choose something that will not only help me learn AWS properly but also improve my chances of getting an entry level job.

For people who have already gone through these certifications.....

What can I realistically expect from each path in terms of learning, difficulty, job opportunities and career growth?

OnVUE macOS notification appeared during my exam... should I be concerned?

I took my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam through OnVUE.

The initial verification went perfectly. But when the proctor started my exam, the OnVUE window closed and another exam window opened. At that point, a macOS system privacy/security notification appeared saying something along the lines of OnVUE taking system control/access (Allow).

The notification stayed on the screen, but because the exam environment was locked, I couldn't properly interact with it or swipe it away. I didn't click around. I just continued the exam.

The problem was that it covered part of the interface, so I couldn't clearly see some things like the question navigation or flag controls😭. I basically had to continue blindly, Keeping track of my progress by literally counting the question numbers and relying on the timer, which for fortunately is visible barely at the corner.

Has anyone experienced a similar macOS OneNote notification? Am I cooked for not informing the proctor?😢 Help me, I am in panic. BTW, at the end of the exam after the survey, I was shown as a grade: pass...

OnVUE showed “Grade: Pass” after exam.... is this final?

I finished my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam today through OnVUE.

After completing the exam and survey, the screen showed “Grade: Pass.” I didn't take a screenshot because I was still inside the proctored environment and didn't want to violate any rules.

I haven't received an email/official score report yet.

For people who have taken the exam recently: Is the “Grade: Pass” shown immediately after the exam effectively the final result, or is there still a possibility that the result could be changed after a post-exam review?

I switched from Brave to Safari and now I regret it... how do I check what’s bloating Safari?

Everyone always says Safari is the best, so I believed it and moved about half my workflow from Brave to Safari. After using it for a while, I’m starting to regret it.

The main issue is that I can’t easily see which websites are taking up space or view/cache data the way I could in Brave. I have no clear idea what’s storing what, and Safari feels bloated now.

Is there any way to inspect and clean this up properly or is Safari just better for normal use only?

Best Budget pencil for iPad 9

Guys, I purchased the Kingone Pencil for my iPad 9 for note taking purposes around 2024. It worked well, but for the past few days it has been disconnecting in the middle of use. I didn't notice any issue with the indicator lights, they seem normal and the pencil looks fine. It would suddenly stop working, and since this evening it's not working at all.

I even restored my iPad thinking it might be a 🐞 but that wasn't the issue. I spent around ₹1.5k on it back then. 😭 I know it was worth it since it worked for years but now I need a replacement.

Can anyone suggest what I should buy? Should I go for another Kingone or the Portronics one that's available for around ₹799–899 on Amazon? It has good ratings too, but I'm confused about whether it'll work well or not. Help me! 😭🥺

Does the Gemini "Notebook" feature share the same data privacy policy as NotebookLM?

Google states that NotebookLM does not use your personal data or uploads to train its AI models.

Gemini has its own "Notebook" feature which is exactly like NotebookLM. Since this feature is built directly inside the Gemini interface, I am confused about the data policy.

If I chat and upload resources inside the Gemini Notebook feature, does it follow the data privacy rules of NotebookLM or does it fall under the standard Gemini policy where data might be used for training?

Has anyone found any official documentation confirming this?

Genuine question: Why doesn't CodeWeavers use a crowdfunding model instead of a paid license?

Not a rage bait post.....

I know CodeWeavers does incredible work and the community has a lot of respect for them. But since CrossOver is built on top of Wine, I'm curious why they stick to a paid software model instead of something like crowdfunding system?

Wouldn't a community-funded model allow them to make the software free and accessible for everyone to play regardless of whether they can afford the license?

I'm honestly tired of macOS Tahoe.

Ever since I upgraded, my MacBook Air m4 runs noticeably hotter, battery life has taken a hit, and overall it just feels like a mess compared to what I expected.

Now I'm wondering whether I should downgrade back to Sequoia. The problem is that it'll mean wiping my Mac, reinstalling everything and spending hours setting it all up again.

On the other hand Golden Gate is in dev beta right now. People say it's good but I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not sure if it's worth jumping to that or just sticking with Tahoe for now.

For those who've been in a similar situation:

  • Did you downgrade to Sequoia? Was it worth it?
  • or is it better to wait for Golden Gate?
  • If you were in my position, what would you do?

I'd really appreciate some advice because I don't want to spend a day formatting my Mac only to regret the decision later.

How do I stop websites from opening a new tab {ad} on the first click?

I've noticed some websites open a separate ad tab the first time I click anywhere. Brave Shields are enabled, but it still happens.
There any Brave setting, filter list or extension that can completely block this behavior?

Missed AWS Academy Cloud Practitioner Voucher After Program Pause

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice on official ways to reduce the cost of the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam.

This was my final year of college, and I was preparing for the certification through AWS Skill Builder and AWS Academy access provided by my university. I completed the learning modules expecting to claim the AWS Academy exam benefit around early June.

Unfortunately, around the same time, AWS paused the voucher program. By the time I learned about the change, my AWS Academy access was close to ending. I reached out to both AWS support and my university, but neither was able to provide a solution.

Now my AWS Academy access has expired, and paying the full exam fee is difficult for me at the moment. I had planned my certification journey around the student benefit, so missing it at the last moment was disappointing.

  • Are there any official AWS discounts or promotions currently available for Cloud Practitioner?
  • Does AWS typically run certification events, challenges, student programs, or community initiatives that provide exam discounts?
  • Have there been similar opportunities in previous years that may return in the future?
  • Is it worth waiting for another AWS promotion, or should I plan to save up and pay the standard exam fee?

I'd appreciate any guidance from people who have been in a similar situation.

Thanks!

Missed AWS Cloud Practitioner Voucher Due to AWS Pausing the Program

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my situation.

This was my final year of college, and I was preparing for the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification using AWS Skill Builder access provided through my college and AWS Academy. My plan was to complete the required modules and claim the free exam voucher that AWS Academy had been providing to students.

Everything was going according to plan. I expected to receive or be able to claim the voucher around early June (1–2 June). Since my AWS Academy access was ending in mid-June after graduation, I made sure to complete the learning modules in time.

Unfortunately, right around the time I was finishing everything, AWS announced that the voucher program was being paused. That completely caught me off guard. I had spent a lot of time preparing and was genuinely excited to take the exam, so it was pretty heartbreaking.

I contacted both AWS support and my university, hoping there might be some exception or alternative, but neither was able to help. Now it's June ending, my AWS Academy access has ended, and I no longer have any way to claim the voucher.

Paying the full exam cost ($100 + taxes) is difficult for me at the moment, which is why I was relying on the student voucher program.

To make things even more frustrating, AWS launched a promotion where passing the AI Practitioner exam gives a 50% discount and then a free Cloud Practitioner voucher. But I wasn't preparing for AI Practitioner🥀, so that path doesn't really help me right now.

  • Does AWS offer any other free or discounted Cloud Practitioner vouchers throughout the year?
  • Are there AWS events, webinars, challenges, student programs, or community programs that provide discounts?
  • Has anyone recently received a voucher through another route?
  • Are voucher transfers even allowed, or are they strictly tied to the original recipient?

I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions. I was very close to taking the exam, and missing out because the program was paused at exactly the wrong time has been pretty discouraging.

Also, please don't DM me with "voucher deals" or sketchy offers.

Thanks for reading.

Anyone else getting this AWS Academy 100% voucher "Temporary Pause" notice?

My student access is going to be over pretty soon. Because of that, I’ve been trying to lock in my 100% free AWS Cloud Practitioner voucher through the institutional AWS Academy, Skill Builder Student pathway.

I literally just completed the official practice exam milestone on my dashboard to trigger the voucher. But when I went back to the Aws educate page, I got hit with this notification banner (attaching the screenshot).

https://preview.redd.it/k24i0gvlvp3h1.png?width=1980&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b55134e5161efa3b2c60d405dea16eb02de6248

It says voucher issuance is temporarily paused globally, and they won't provide an update until on or before June 5, 2026.

Has anyone else seen this on their student dashboards today? Since my college email and portal access are on a tight countdown clock, I'm kind of stressing that my completion won't sync in time or that they might change the program rules after June 5th.
Did I just pick the absolute worst week to finish my prep?
If anyone has a workaround or knows how to reach a human who can manually override this for graduating students, please let me know!

Jio STB users… are we seriously stuck with this locked-down OS forever?

The Jio Set Top Box OS is honestly one of the most frustrating platforms I’ve used. Ads on startup, ads while watching, blocked settings, restricted access, no sideloading, and the whole system feels unnecessarily locked down. It’s like they don’t want users to actually own the device they paid for.

So where are the modders, devs, and tweak communities for Jio STB?

I know a few tweaks exist already, but they’re very limited. How can a company make an Android based OS this locked?

If anyone is working on this, please share guides, tools, Discords, Telegram groups, GitHub projects anything.

I just want to use the full potential of the hardware I paid for without all the restrictions.

I’m currently looking to buy loafers for my father and came across Legwork Men’s Leather Loafers on Amazon (around ₹3k).

The main reason I’m considering them is because I need size >10, and honestly, I’m barely finding options in that size in loafer style. Most brands either don’t stock it. This is one of the few that actually has the size available.

But I’m a bit unsure because:

  • I haven’t really heard much about the brand
  • Rating is decent (~3.8) but not amazing
  • Price feels a bit high

I already ordered a pair from Red Chief, but returned because of smaller size.

So wanted to ask:

  • Has anyone used Legwork shoes before?
  • How’s the comfort and long-term durability?
  • Is ₹3k justified for this or should I skip it?

I recently came across a brand called Legwork shoes while searching for something comfortable for my parents. What caught my attention is that they actually have the exact sizes I’m struggling to find in other brands.

But the price is pretty high compared to what I usually spend, so I’m a bit unsure. From what I’ve seen, they market themselves as a premium leather brand with comfort-focused designs (like hybrid formal/sneaker styles).

I’ve already ordered a pair from Red Chief, but now I’m wondering if Legwork would’ve been a better choice.

So just wanted to ask:

  • Is Legwork a legit brand?
  • How is the quality and durability?
  • Is it actually worth the price or just marketing hype?
