Image 1 — I find it kinda sad how much Aina is insecure about her sex appeal just because she's flat chested, she absolutely does

This is an official made by Sorachi for To Love Ru anniversary (the joke is that since many mangakas were surpsrised of how much fanservicey To Love Ru manga was at times. Gintoki as the pervert as he is wanted ask if his author could've made his porn video uncensored 😭)

My female friend likes Gintama but she was dissapointed with the way how perverted Gin is at times since she thought the manga was more female gazey giving that most of the readers are women.

I don't think that the pervert gags are really that much frequent to be annoying nor be taken seriously but my friend didn't like the fact that:

  1. Gin wanted to convice to Shinpachi to SA Otsu so he would've married and fucked Ketsuno while they stopped time

  2. Didn't like the fact that Gin once drew an underage girl panties when writing Tsukuyo little brother diary

  3. When he stared at a woman undressing herself on a window

  4. When he wanted to have sadism sex with a bunch of idols and other things

Hoenstly I don't think those gags really matters that much for a gag character like Gin, but I wonder what's yound opinion about it

One of my favorite thing about Gin as a character is how much the story aknowledges that he's not really a good person.

Don't get me wrong, Gintoki is a wise and caring person but he's also selfish, immature, hyprocite, manipulating and pervy. It's really nice having such a complex character in shonen from time to time and If I remember correctly Sorachi once said in Q&A that he doesn't consider Gintoki a real role model and more like a warning for the younger reader of Shonen Jump to not become like him as an adult lmao.

Rereading the manga I've noticed how the writer slowly started to make Kohei less creepy.

When the story started to focus more on his relationship with Aina, his "liking middle school girls" gags slowly faded away. His character became more focused on his social anxiety/awkardness and Otaku side (like making mangas, dating sims and idol culture). It seems that the writers thought that his creepiness gags had gotten too stale, so I think that's the reason the author decided to make him closer to Aina, so that he could've done more with his character beyond that gag. Thoughts?
