New Content

Lancer

Calamity

A killing machine manufactured by Kepler Corporation, Calamity excels at stealth assassinations and sustained combat. A ratio of all damage dealt by Calamity is converted into [Bloodbane] and stored, and at max, she gains a powerful buff. In the face of danger, Calamity can use [Sympathy for the Devil], allowing her to consume stored [Bloodbane] to heal herself. She can also consume HP and use [Angel of Death] to become briefly invincible and pass through hazardous areas. [Barbed Wire Kisses] places a thorny thicket that slows the enemy's attack. Watch your back, and don't let her catch you alone!

  • Titans

    • Now gain +4% Damage Mitigation per alive friendly Structure
  • Jungle Monsters

    • Pushed back initial spawn time of Oracles 1:30 -> 1:35
    • Pushed back initial spawn of the Random Mid Buff Camp 1:30 -> 1:35
    • Alpha Centaur (Yellow Buff), Alpha Chimera (Purple Buff), Big Cyclops Warrior
      • Decreased base Protections from 30 to 25
      • Decreased max Protections from 68 to 54
    • Increased Vortex CC strength against Jungle Monsters
  • Runic Bomb

    • Runic Bomb was dealing extra physical damage to bosses, on top of the 1000 damage already being dealt. The extra phys damage has been removed as a nerf, but now the damage dealt to bosses cannot be mitigated.
    • The physical damage portion of the explosion now only applies to Gods
    • Increased physical damage vs Gods 300 -> 500
    • The 1000 damage dealt to Towers, Bosses, and Minions is now pure damage that bypasses all types of mitigation
  • Fire Giant and Gold Fury

    • Minions and Pets tanking these objectives now have -75% reduced healing
  • Fire Giant Buff

    • Healing from the buff is now reduced by anti-heal and healing immunity effects (e.g. Aegis)
    • Base
      • Decreased healing from 1% -> 0.8% of Max Health per second
    • Enhanced
      • Decreased healing from 2% -> 1.6% of Max Health per second
      • Decreased mana regen from 2% -> 1% of Max Mana per second
  • Enhanced Fire Giant

    • Enhanced Fire Giant being too difficult to kill went against its design goal of being the powerplay option to end games decisively (or at least get very close to ending). EFG’s stats are now more in line with normal Fire Giant.
    • Removed Fire Giant’s additional Max Health while Enhanced (was +4000)
    • Decreased Fire Giant’s additional Strength while Enhanced +85 -> +40
  • Moonlight

    • A few changes to make both the middle objective and the race to collect shards more competitive…
      • Lowered the cap on the number of Shards collected, and made it possible for teams to tie and both get Lane Pushers
      • The Ritual Site at the center of the map now functions similar to how Beacon did in Smite 1, with a couple tweaks. Capturing it is now what awards your team with the Ritual consumable (it’s still also a source of Shards, but less than before)
    • … and re-align the goals and structure of the Moonlight Phase:
      • Moonlight Objectives
        • These offer opportunities for PvP, and grant unique rewards for winning these individual objectives
      • Moonlight Shards
        • The number collected represents how well your team as a whole controlled the entire map during the Moonlight Phase, and grant the Lane Pushers as a reward for playing better overall
    • Reduced maximum number of Shards teams can collect 100 -> 75
    • Lane Pushers
      • Now always spawn at the end of the Moonlight Phase for the team with the highest number of Shards collected
        • If scores are tied, Lane Pushers will spawn for both teams
    • Ritual Site
      • This point at the center of the map is now capturable by standing in it for approx. 25s
      • Capturing the Ritual Site awards your team the Ritual consumable and +50 Team Gold
        • Shards still rain from the sky while capturing, but they are no longer tied to winning the consumable
      • Capture Rules:
        • Capturing speeds up slightly with more teammates on the point
        • Tug-Of-War: Capture progress is retained if control of the point is lost. However, if the capture progress of both teams exceeds the total progress needed to win the capture point, the team in control will begin reducing the progress of the enemy team.
        • Teams will automatically win the Capture Point if they’re in control of it when the Moonlight Phase ends
    • Moonlight Queen Naga
      • Now drops a Shard once for every 5% of Health lost
      • Now regenerates a small burst of HP on leash

Patchnotes from 2026-05-14

This update was brought to you by PatchRadar.

THURSDAY MAY 14

GENERAL

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • Prematch Rejoin
    • Rejoin is now enabled during the Prematch Lobby in all standard playlists.
    • Players who disconnect or crash before match start can now reconnect before deployment.
    • Rejoin availability has been extended through the end of the match, including final circle scenarios.
    • Prematch Rejoin remains disabled in Ranked Play to preserve competitive integrity.

> Rejoin functionality has been expanded to help reduce the impact of unexpected disconnects and provide more opportunities for players to recover from crashes or connection interruptions throughout a match.

  • Weapon Drop Cleanup Quality of Life
    • Added a cleanup protection window for weapons dropped on player death. This protection will last for 5 minutes.
    • Cleanup protection will end early if the original owner disconnects or is fully eliminated from the match.

> This adjustment improves loot persistence during engagements and creates a more reliable looting experience in high-traffic combat areas.

» Battle Royale «

  • Endgame Circle Locations Avalon Only
    • Adjusted endgame circle logic so final circles occur more consistently in competitive areas.

> Endgame combat should now play more consistently while still maintaining a healthy variety of terrain outcomes across Avalon.

  • Loadout Drop Locations Avalon Only
    • Adjusted potential landing zones for free Loadout Drops from Public Events.

> Free Loadout Drops should now land in more accessible locations, reducing frustration caused by unreachable or impractical placements.

LOOT & ECONOMY

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • Loot Clean Up
    • The final gas circle will now remove the following ground loot items:
      • Stim
      • Self-Revive
      • Portable Decontamination Station (PDS)

> Late-game gas play had become overly sustainable in certain scenarios. This update shifts more endgame outcomes toward positioning, strategy, and direct engagements while reducing excessively prolonged final circles. We’ll continue monitoring the impact of this adjustment across both Ranked and standard playlists.

  • Cash Adjustments
    • Updated Fire Sale pricing:
      • Armor Plates now cost $200
      • Grappling Hooks now cost $300
    • Increased the value of common Cash piles from $250 to $300.
    • Cash values are now rounded to the nearest $100 on player death.
    • Any excess Cash generated through rounding will be added to the amount retained by the eliminated player.

> Cash totals should now be faster and easier to read during gameplay. We’re aware of a small number of remaining edge cases and will continue refining the system in future updates.

  • Armor Satchel Quality of Life
    • Picking up an Armor Satchel will now automatically drop excess Armor Plates onto the ground.

> Armor Satchel behavior now aligns with existing Munitions and Armor Box interactions, reducing the need for manual inventory management during combat.

» Resurgence «

  • Supply Box Adjustments

    • Unified loot tables between Havens Hollow and Rebirth Island for base and reusable Supply Boxes.
    • Reduced Perk drop rate in base and reusable Supply Boxes by 10%.
    • Reduced Armor Satchel drop rate in base and reusable Supply Boxes by 4%.
    • Supply Boxes will no longer drop duplicate equipment types in a single container (does not apply to reusable Supply Boxes):
      • Maximum of 1 Field Upgrade, Lethal, and Tactical
  • Equipment Drop Rate Adjustments Standard Playlists

    • Increased drop rate for:
      • Molotov Cocktail
    • Decreased drop rate for:
      • Deployable Cover
      • Needle Drone
      • C4

> Loot distribution across Resurgence has been adjusted to create a more consistent scavenging experience while improving overall equipment balance between matches.

  • Breakable Boxes Rebirth Island Only
    • Breakable Boxes now guarantee Cash drops.
    • Removed guaranteed Perk and Killstreak drops.
    • Reduced maximum Armor Plate drops from 2 to 1.
    • Breakable Boxes can now drop:
      • Grappling Hook
      • Utility Box

> Breakable Boxes were providing too much guaranteed power early in matches and heavily influencing optimized loot routes. Their value remains intact while encouraging broader interaction with the overall loot ecosystem.

  • Self-Revives
    • Removed Self-Revives from ground loot.
    • Significantly reduced the number of Self-Revives obtainable from crates.

> Recent loot tuning increased Self-Revive availability beyond intended levels. Distribution has now been reduced to bring overall availability back in line with expected gameplay pacing.

PERKS

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • Berserker
    • Removed the red visual effect while Berserker is active.

> We’ve removed the red visual effect tied to Berserker following player feedback that it was overly distracting during gameplay.

EQUIPMENT

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • Flashbang
    • Removed the ability to overclock Flashbangs.

> After evaluating Flashbang overclocking, we determined it provided too much power with limited counterplay, particularly in competitive play. While we generally prefer tuning mechanics over removing them entirely, disabling Flashbang overclocking helps maintain gameplay consistency across Ranked and standard playlists.

    • Increased time between shots from 0.5s to 1s.
    • Removed all damage multipliers except for headshots.

2XKO Patch Notes: 1.2.1 (May 11 2026)

Welcome to patch 1.2.1! This patch is dedicated to features that make it better to be a duo, including a new Fuse, a duo matchmaking system, and in-game voice chat for duos. We believe 2XKO is better with a friend, so try these features out once we’re live.

As always, the game will be down starting from 9am PT when the patch drops on May 12. You can always check the status of the patch here or in the 2XKO client. Online matchmaking will become available once maintenance is complete. In the meantime, you can still play in Offline mode.

To access Offline mode on console, you must disconnect from the internet before launching 2XKO.

New Content

New Fuse: Teamfight

Teamfight is a new Fuse that lets BOTH champions on a team fight simultaneously for seven seconds.

Activate Teamfight by pressing :2xko_T: + any normal attack (:2xko_L: / :2xko_M: / :2xko_H:). Once you’re both onscreen, it’s time to whale on your opponent with everything at once.

You probably have questions. Here are the rules for Teamfight.

  • Teamfight can only be activated on the ground.
  • You can cancel attacks immediately into Teamfight activation.
  • While Teamfighting, your champions can use Supers, but not Ultimates.
  • The team using Teamfight won’t generate meter while it’s active.
  • Teamfight lasts for seven seconds, but when Teamfight champions are hit, the timer is reduced based on damage dealt.
  • Teamfight ends instantly if a champion is hit by an Ultimate.

Also, while Teamfight is active, the Assist champion has special restrictions:

  • All their attacks count as mid.
  • All their attacks will come from the same direction as the Point champion’s attacks, similar to how Assists work.
  • They cannot throw.

Teamfight can be unlocked by completing the associated tutorial in the Learning Hub.

Find Duo

You can now find a new duo partner in the 2XKO client. When you’re getting ready to play, select the plus sign (+) and navigate down to the “Find a Duo” option. This will pair you up with another player looking for a duo.

Once you find a partner, hop into the lobby together and start building your synergy.

Duo Voice Chat

In-game Duo Voice Chat is here, just in time to accompany the Find a Duo system.

This is turned off by default. To enable it, open Settings > Text & Voice Chat, then turn on “Duo Voice Chat.” After that, you’ll automatically enter an in-game voice chat whenever you partner up with someone who also has the setting enabled.

Remember, there’s no push-to-talk—your mic will be hot as soon as you enter Duo Voice Chat.

Replay Takeover

You can now take control of either team while watching a Replay. Load up a Replay, pause it, then press the Takeover button. Press Takeover again to reset. Practice strategies from past matches, and one day you’ll block that wack mix.

Season 1 Ranked Rewards

Patch 1.2.1 comes with a Ranked reset, which means that Season 1 Ranked Rewards will be sent within the first week of the patch. You’ll get an exclusive sticker and player title based on your peak rank in Season 1.

Title****StickerIron PiltovanBronze PiltovanSilver PiltovanGold PiltovanPlatinum PiltovanEmerald PiltovanDiamond PiltovanMaster PiltovanGrandmaster PiltovanChallenger Piltovan

Players who have reached a peak rank of Diamond or higher will also earn an avatar outfit.

Speech-to-Text

Since Duo Voice Chat is coming to this patch, there’s also a new accessibility option that converts voice chat speech to text. Enable it by opening Settings > Accessibility.

System Changes

We hotfixed both Break and Fury shortly before this patch. You can view those changes here.

In this patch, we’re making another adjustment to Fury to make it more intuitive, and we’re reducing the Assist cooldown after a champion dies.

Core Gameplay

  • Assist cooldown after being KOed has been reduced by 1 second. It was 3 seconds and is now 2 seconds.
    • This makes it easier to fight your way back into a match after losing a champion. You can now come back more easily with Super Assists and team pushblock, especially while in the corner.
  • Blocking Fury activation will now always result in a wall bounce, the same as blocking Break.
    • Previously, activating Fury while you were keeping your opponent in block stun would gain you advantage. The different types of Fury activations were creating more confusion when compared with Break.
    • All hit and on-block reactions have been unified to match Break for consistency.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Break > Handshake Tag while mid-air would make the Assist champion leave the battlefield much quicker than expected.
  • Fixed a bug that was awarding undeserved 2XKOs. Now you gotta earn it.
  • Fixed a visual bug where Limit Strike wouldn’t apply normal camera effects.
  • Fixed an issue where guard crushing after a push block would occasionally cause characters to pass through each other.
  • Training mode:
    • Fixed a bug with reversal options. Bots will now correctly forward or back jump.

Champion Adjustments

Overall we have a much smaller amount of champion specific changes in this patch, as we mentioned in this balance blog post. We’re lightly buffing some champions, lightly nerfing Illaoi, and fixing some bugs. Otherwise, this patch keeps the game stable so you can experiment with Teamfight under your usual game plan.

Just want the high-level changes? There’s a summary at the top of each section. Dive into the details below.

Ahri

Ahri is a powerful character who can really shine in a talented player's hands. While we don’t have any changes to Ahri in this patch, we’re keeping an eye on how she continues to perform in the meta.

Bug fixes

  • Orb of Deception (:2xko_S1: Super) is now properly destroyed on parry, even if an Assist gets hit first.
  • Spirit Rush (any direction + :2xko_S2:) now properly chains in rare situations involving screen locks.

Fixed a rare issue where Charm (Ultimate) would not properly trigger the cutscene.

Akali

Akali has no explicit balance changes in this patch, but one of our bug fixes removes one of her nearly unblockable oki setups.

Bug fixes

  • Charged Twilight Reaper (:2xko_S2:) no longer connects with an airborne opponent who is not in a combo.
    • This move was creating a nearly unblockable wakeup option. This should unlock jumping on wakeup to successfully counter this move.
  • Fixed a bug where charged Twilight Reaper (:2xko_S2:) would occasionally fail to land if it fired while Akali was tagged out. Charged Twilight Reaper active frames are now 1, down from 2.
    • Sometimes Akali would get the read and land the charged command grab, and the animation would just break. This should be fixed now.
  • Fixed a bug where Nightfall Ascension (Ultimate) would occasionally show the opponent in front of the smoke.
  • Sunset Descent Assist (:2xko_down::2xko_T:) visuals have been cleaned up.
  • Fixed Akali’s stats displaying incorrectly in the Collection tab.

Blitzcrank

Beep boop, no balance changes to our favorite robot this patch.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug that allowed Blitzcrank to use Trash Compactor (Ultimate) while tagged out.
  • Fixed an issue where back throw sound effects weren’t properly synced to its animation.

Braum

Braum is untouched by this balance patch!

Bug fixes

Fixed an issue where Stand Behind Me Assist (:2xko_back::2xko_T:) walked the wrong way after the Point champion was crossed up.

Caitlyn

Our last balance patch was a small nudge to make some of our zoners feel more playable, and we think there’s a bit more space to push. This adjustment to Caitlyn is meant to make more parts of her kit usable on offense.

Buffs

  • Tactical Dive (:2xko_forward::2xko_S2:) can now be cancelled into Enticing Trap before making contact.
    • Previously, both Tactical Dive and canceling into Bola Boost (:2xko_back::2xko_S2:) lost to parry. This change gives Caitlyn a bailout option if she doesn’t want to overcommit to Tactical Dive .

Bug fixes

Enforcer Hexshield (:2xko_S2: Super) is now usable sooner after it leaves the edge of the screen.

Darius

Darius is our champion for the employed gamers amongst us, and we want to extend an olive branch to everybody with a fulltime job. These adjustments are small, but should make playing Darius feel a bit better this patch.

Buffs

  • Coward's Bane (:2xko_down::2xko_S1:) now knocks opponents less far back when blocked by an airborne opponent.
    • This move was difficult to follow up with when blocked midscreen. Now, Darius can pressure opponents more effectively after a blocked Coward's Bane , making both :2xko_down::2xko_H: and Coward's Bane more threatening in neutral.
    • The pushback after Darius performs this move is mostly unchanged in the corner, but the opponent will now land quicker.
  • Apprehend (:2xko_S1:) > :2xko_M: blockstun and recovery have been reduced by 2.
  • Apprehend (:2xko_S1:) > :2xko_M: now knocks opponents farther back when blocked by an airborne opponent.
    • Apprehend > :2xko_M: was easy to punish when air blocked, which led to Darius players only using Apprehend > :2xko_L: or :2xko_H:.
    • With the increased pushback and less recovery, Darius will be safe if this is air blocked in more situations.
    • This also opens up additional combo routing.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a rare bug that would make the opponent float after Apprehend (:2xko_S1:) > :2xko_H:.

Fixed a rare bug where Break the Line (:2xko_forward::2xko_S2:) > Thin Their Ranks (:2xko_forward::2xko_S2:) would put the Assist champion into a falling state in Happy Birthday situations.

Ekko

For the first patch ever, Ekko is untouched.

Illaoi

Illaoi has remained a commanding presence, even with bugs that affect tentacle behavior. Now that her bug fixes have restored some of her overall power, we want to adjust her command grab, which was making her a bit too strong at all distances.

Nerfs

  • Prayer in Stagnation (:2xko_down_back::2xko_S1: with tentacle) recovery has been increased by 6 frames.
    • Illaoi’s command grab was difficult to interact with due to its short recovery. We still expect pressure to continue after Illaoi performs her grab, but there’s now a slightly larger window for counterplay.
  • Faith in Motion (mid-air :2xko_S2:) hitbox size has been reduced, both on the aerial portion and when landing.
  • Faith in Motion (mid-air :2xko_S2:) now has a custom enlarged hurtbox while falling.
    • The backside of Faith in Motion was trimmed on the initial strike, and it now hits less far behind her while landing.
    • This move will still be strong, but less likely to hit in unexpected situations.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused Illaoi tentacles to be displaced when performing a :2xko_S2: move in the corner under specific conditions.
  • Fixed a bug where Illaoi tentacles would be disabled if a tentacle was destroyed during the end of Wrath of Nagakabouros (:2xko_S2: Super).
  • Fixed a bug that caused tentacles spawned by :2xko_S2: moves near the end of Wrath of Nagakabouros (:2xko_S2: Super) to not spawn a hitbox under certain conditions.

Jinx

Jinx is in a much better place, but these changes are a pre-emptive adjustment to smooth off some of the edges of playing her with Teamfight.

Buffs

  • Watch Your Head! (:2xko_down_forward::2xko_H:) is now cancelable into Supers and Specials on the frame it connects, rather than the frame after.
  • You can activate Teamfight and Supers at the same time. Because of this, we're making it so you can Super immediately when hitting with Watch Your Head!
  • With this adjustment, you won’t accidentally call Assists when trying to cancel the move into Teamfight.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug that would cause Flame Chompers! (:2xko_forward::2xko_S2:) to hit the opponent closest to the center of the screen, rather than hitting both champions.
  • Flame Chompers! will now Happy Birthday opponents properly.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Jinx to use Zap! (:2xko_back::2xko_S2:) without full Zapper meter.

Fixed a bug that caused Zaaaapp! (:2xko_S2: Super) sound effects to persist when the move was interrupted.

Teemo

No changes to Teemo this patch! Make sure to eat your vegetables.

Bug fixes

Fixed an issue where Teemo’s throwbox followed him incorrectly during his Blinding Dart (Ultimate).

Vi

Vault Breaker (:2xko_S1:) auto-firing on tag out had the intended effect, and Vi remains strong. This adjustment is mostly to pre-balance for Teamfight.

Buffs

  • Axe-Handle Crash (:2xko_forward::2xko_H:) is now cancelable into Supers on hit.
    • You can activate Teamfight and Supers at the same time. Because of this, we're making it so you can Super immediately when hitting with Axe-Handle Crash .
    • With this adjustment, you won’t accidentally call Assists when trying to cancel the move into Teamfight.

Warwick

We're giving Warwick a bit more juice to compensate for Claws of the Beast (:2xko_S1:) being nerfed and to help round out some rough edges of his kit. We’re hoping this host of changes will help make Warwick a bit more competitive.

Buffs

  • Primal Leap > Snare (:2xko_down::2xko_S1: > :2xko_H:) is now active 3 frames earlier.
    • It was active at 21 frames, and is now active at 18.
  • Primal Leap > Snare (:2xko_down::2xko_S1: > :2xko_H:) recovery has been reduced by 5 frames after connecting with an opponent.
    • This move was difficult to use effectively due to its long startup.
    • The startup of this move now better matches the animation, and Warwick will have slightly more advantage on contact to better set up situations afterwards – but not enough to where he can combo into Feral Bite (:2xko_forward::2xko_S2:) afterwards.
  • Improved hitstop on all Savage Slashes (:2xko_S2:) hits on counterhit.
  • The final hit of Savage Slashes (:2xko_S2:) now causes a knockdown on counterhit.
    • Performing frame traps with S2 was difficult due to the low hitstop of the move. Now when frame trapping, the hitpause will be long enough to confirm into follow-ups appropriately.
    • The final hit of Savage Slashes on counterhit will allow Warwick to OTG the opponent with an Assist or Blood Hunt (Ultimate).
  • No Escape Assist (:2xko_down::2xko_T:) damage scaling has been reduced. It now scales on the first and the final hit, rather than on every hit.
    • No Escape Assist is great, but starting a combo with it led to combos that did little damage. Combos that start with No Escape Assist will now hit much harder.
  • Hitstun of mid-air :2xko_H: has been increased by 1.
    • Mid-air :2xko_H: now combos into :2xko_S1: on airborne opponents.

Bug fixes

  • Charged :2xko_H: should now properly break armor on first hit.

Yasuo

No balance changes to our lonely samurai this patch.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where :2xko_M: would occasionally force the opponent to stand if they were crouching.

Quality of Life Updates

  • The Replay pause menu has received a visual update.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the bug that caused players to be stuck on the loading screen after champion select.
    • Now that the bug is fixed, spectating has been re-enabled.
  • Fixed a bug with Replays that incorrectly enabled hotkeys while in the pause menu, which caused other issues.
  • Fixed an issue that displayed a previous Battle Pass reward on the post-match screen, instead of the upcoming reward.

Known Issues

  • The Blood Moon: Sacrificial Rite finisher is temporarily disabled due to a bug.
    • During this period the finisher will not be purchasable in the store.
    • It will temporarily be excluded from the Mega Bundle, and the price will be slightly lower to reflect this adjustment.
    • Once the bug has been fixed, it will become available for purchase again and will automatically appear in the account of anybody who already owns the finisher.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Player Support team.

▲ 92 r/2XKO

You’ve told us that playing 2XKO as a duo is one of the best ways to sharpen your skills or add a fun co-op twist to your gameplay. In Patch 1.2.1, launching May 12, we’re adding a suite of features for duo players, including a new Fuse. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming.

<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV6RH-sliRs>

New Duo Fuse: Teamfight

We’re adding a new Fuse: Teamfight . 2XKO’s Fuse system allows you to tailor your teamwork by choosing how your champs can tag in and out. Choosing Teamfight allows both champions to be on screen and controllable simultaneously for a short window.

Both you and your partner must spend one bar of meter each. Activate Teamfight by pressing :2xko_T: and any Normal attack button (:2xko_L:, :2xko_M:, or :2xko_H:). Once active, you have seven seconds of simultaneous play.

Solo players can use Teamfight too, controlling both champions at once using the same inputs. Hold :2xko_T: to focus only on your point character.

Teamfight is for duos looking to expand their teamwork options, or for players who prefer a more improvisational, chaotic flavor of gameplay.

How To Play Against Teamfight

Having two champions attacking at once might sound overwhelming, so for those of you fearing for your mental stack, here’s some more info:

  • While in Teamfight mode, you lose access to Team actions like Tag Launcher, Assists, and Break . You also cannot use Ultimates while the Fuse is active for your team.
  • As a defender, any hit landed on a Teamfighting duo reduces the Teamfight timer .
  • If a defender lands a successful Ultimate (on the Point or Assist champ), it ends the Teamfight immediately.
  • A Teamfighting Assist character only hits mids , meaning the offensive team has to work harder for creative offense.

There are some more nuances which we’ll cover in the 1.2.1 Patch Notes.

“Find Duo” & Duo Voice Chat

Finding a partner you vibe with is rewarding, but can be tricky if you don’t know where to start. Hit “Find Duo” in the invite screen to search for another player who also wants to pair up.

Once you’re in the duo together, you can enable in-game voice chat , allowing you to coordinate your Teamfight plays in real time. Open Settings > Text & Voice Chat, then turn on “Duo Voice Chat.” After that, you’ll automatically enter voice chat with teammates, as long as they also have the setting enabled.

Season 2 and Ranked Reset

Patch 1.2.1 also brings the start of Season 2 , which has a new Battle Pass featuring skins and avatar items, as well as a soft reset to your current rank. More details on that coming in the 1.2.1 patch notes next week.

Our seasons and champ releases are mostly separate now, so for those of you waiting to see 2XKO’s next champion, Senna, we appreciate your patience while we get her ready.

Patch 1.2.1 launches May 12. Grab a duo, climb the ranks, and jump into a Teamfight!

DOWN TO ASHES

It’s time for the Mid-Season Update! The Arena is bustling with a brand-new Limited Time Mode, tons of free cosmetics for you to grab and a long list of bug-fixes and balance changes. Check out the gritty details below!

LTM | DRAGON’S CLAIM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhuoaJU_4h4The battle for the banner has begun! Dragon’s Claim is a brand-new Limited Time Event, where control, teamplay, and siege tactics are your path to victory.

In this 5v5 mode, take and keep control of the banner long enough to be able to plant it into the ground. Once you’ve staked your claim, a zone around the banner will appear and everyone in the Arena will know where to stand. Stay in the zone to rack up money, and take as much of the treasure as you can while the banner lasts. The team that plants the banner will receive a bonus, then every Contestant in the Arena will earn additional cash by surviving in the zone.

The battle around the banner is sure to be heated, but not nearly so intense as the Dragon raining fire from above! The banner will attract the dragon so keep an eye on the sky and don’t get burned!

The first team to earn the winning amount or the team with the most cash at the end of the round wins!

Play Dragon's Claim from now until May 28!

EVENT | SCALES OF FORTUNE

Once again, we’ve reinvented the wheel with the Scales of Fortune! Complete daily contracts to earn up to 3 tickets a day and use them to spin the wheel. Unlock more than 20 rewards with a Legendary outfit on completion.

Each spin will grant you a reward from the pool of prizes! Landing on a duplicate prize will convert that wheel tile into a Golden Ticket. Land on a Golden Ticket to earn an additional, extra special spin that’s guaranteed to be a new, unowned item! It is still possible to buy a reward out of the wheel with Multibucks, of course!

Get spinning, Contestants, and may the (vastly improved) odds be in your favor!

Earn all the free rewards before May 28!

DLC | THE CROWN THAT REMAINS

Show them that you were born to rule the Arena! Heavy is the head that wears the crown (but Medium and Light, as well)!

The bundle includes a legendary outfit, grenade skin, an emote, as well as an epic charm and 2400 Multibucks.

STORE UPDATE | HELION EXARCH SET

Stock up on potions with the Brewed for Trouble set, and share them with the competition for maximum potency. It’s an aggressive way to use your wares, but business is cut-throat.

Balance Changes

Gadgets

Vanishing Bomb

  • Decreased the duration of invisibility on the user from 6s to 5s
  • Increased cooldown from 18s to 22s

Dev Note: Over time, the Vanishing Bomb has gradually become a must pick for Lights and this depresses the value of the Cloaking Device quite a bit. These changes are aimed at reducing its power relative to other items to move it into a much more balanced place.

Game Modes

General

  • Increased the minimum distance a player must spawn from enemies when using a coin by approximately 20%. This impacts Cashout, Ranked Cashout and Quick Cash modes

Dev Note: We’ve seen from live data that some of the spawn changes we made in 10.0 can cause coining players to spawn in positions that are a little too advantageous to their team, for example allowing immediate flanking of enemy teams. This adjustment should resolve that issue.

Ranked Tournaments

  • Recalibrated league rank distribution to more evenly distribute players across the different ranks

Dev Note: With some of the more recent changes made to Ranked Score we’ve seen the population become overly distributed towards the lower half of the ranking scale, which should not be the case. This change rebalances this, more evenly distributing players across the whole scale. The change will take place gradually as players play matches over the remainder of the season, until recalibration is complete. As a result, you may briefly see very different RS gains and losses while recalibration happens, with the net outcome being most players should see some rank gains.

Gameplay

Goo

  • Decreased the time it takes for Goo to break when overlapping a player from 0.8s to 0.35s

Dev Note: Following some adjustments to ensure Goo will still block interactions, and a re-evaluation on the stall duration of Goo based on feedback following the 10.3 change, we’ve settled on this new duration for how quickly Goo should break. We feel this should reduce frustration from blocking while still retaining some of the gameplay around Goo that players enjoy

Specializations

Shockwave

  • Reverted a change made in 10.3 that constrained how high players could be launched when combining the Shockwave with the Jump Pad

Dev Note: The change in 10.3 was intended to constrain the absolute most extreme case of Shockwave combined with Jump Pad, which happens fairly rarely. Ultimately, it ended up being far too aggressive in practice. This change reverts the Shockwave to the previous state. Depending on how this continues to perform on live, we may still consider adding a cap at some point that nudges the extreme down by 5% to 10%, but we’ll see how things develop.

Weapons

.50 Akimbo

  • Decreased max bullet dispersion when firing from the hip from 8 to 7.5, making the weapon slightly more accurate
  • Decreased the default hip fire dispersion when firing from the hip while standing from 2 to 1.8
  • Decreased the default dispersion when firing from the hip while moving from 2.6 to 2.2

Dev Note: Despite being fairly popular, the Akimbo Pistols tend to underperform compared to most Heavy weapons. This change is a small nudge to try and help their viability a little.

Chimera-XB

  • Decreased damage falloff minimum range from 20m to 17.5m, giving the weapon a slightly shorter effective range
  • Decreased damage falloff max range from 30m to 27.5m, giving the weapon a slightly shorter effective range
  • Decreased damage falloff multiplier from 0.6 to 0.53, meaning the weapon now does slightly less damage at range

Dev Note: Now that we’ve had a solid period of time to see the Chimera settle in the meta, it’s outperforming some of the longer ranged weapons at distance, which was not intended. These adjustments should nudge it more towards the mid-range bracket,

KS-23

  • Disabled trigger-hold delay on the pump action, reducing the chance of shots being delayed by misclicks

Dev Note: When the player holds down the trigger after firing a manual action or pump action weapon, like a number of other FPS games, this blocks the action until the trigger is released, allowing some additional control for the player. We feel this is something that is rarely being used intentionally though, and it can have a hidden negative impact on players who are slower at pressing the fire button as it slightly slows their rate of fire due to briefly blocking the action. We’ve removed this blocking on all pump action shotguns to give a smoother and more consistent experience.

M11

  • Increased damage falloff max range from 17.5m to 20m, giving the weapon a slightly longer effective range
  • Decreased damage falloff multiplier from 0.52 to 0.45, meaning the weapon now does slightly less damage at range

Dev Note: The M11 is performing a little too well at medium to long ranges, causing it to cannibalize the roles of weapons like the XP-54 and LH1. These changes bring down its damage a little at those longer ranges, but with a small extension to its optimal range to offset that.

M26 Matter

  • Disabled trigger-hold delay on the pump action, reducing the chance of shots being delayed by misclicks

Model 1887

  • Disabled trigger-hold delay on the pump action, reducing the chance of shots being delayed by misclicks

Spear

  • Increased the cap on how many player targets a spin attack can hit from 8 to 24
  • Increased the cap on how many non-player targets on spin attack can hit from 20 to 60

Dev Note: This is a small quality of life change to the Spear’s secondary attack that has been pending for a little while. In light of the S11 melee rework, the Spear’s secondary may yet change in how it functions, but we don’t see that as a reason not to release this change in the meantime.

V9S

  • Decreased magazine size from 20 to 18

Dev Note: Among Light weapons, the V9S still slightly over-performs where it should be relative to other weapons available to the Light. This change is to bring it more inline with the other guns

▲ 30 r/2XKO

This update was brought to you by PatchRadar.

Welcome back to the Weekend Warmup.

In a few hours, 2XKO’s second Major event kicks off at Evo Japan, and there are a lot of questions that remain unanswered. Three powerhouse regions: the US, Japan, and France, are joined by hundreds of hungry local hopefuls in a high-stakes, single-day marathon tournament live from Tokyo. If you’re tuning in to a 2XKO Major for the first time, or need a refresher, here are five stories to watch out for.

Evo Japan begins at 6pm PT on April 30 (that’s today!). Watch it all go down at twitch.tv/2xko or youtube.com/@2XKO. Stream info, schedule, commentators, on-site experience and more over here.

Can a duo win a Major?

The dev team spent years wondering if a duo could actually take home an Evo-level trophy. In a few hours, we’ll find out. Two frontrunner duos: 2WINz Haru and Toshi, bringing their twin telepathy to the main stage; and the dominant unpredictable powerhouse of SonicFox and INZEM. The matchup history favours the Americans, but the 2WINz have home field advantage.

Japan’s FGC goes big

Evo Japan marks a massive milestone as the first open 2XKO Major in Japan. With a stacked roster—including ikoan, poka, and the 2WINz, the local FGC is hungry to claim a title. US and EU attendance is lighter than at Frosty Faustings, and the path is clear for a Japanese champion.

I also see FGC legends GO1 and Fenritti on the signup sheet but I’m not sure if they’re actually playing lmao. If they are, I will be locked in.

ikoan's aura.

bleed’s runback

Fresh off his January Frosty Faustings victory, bleed is the player to beat. His consistency with Ekko/Illaoi has carried him to weekly online wins at TNS and FlyQuest’s Fight Series. If somehow he takes a second Major against significantly leveled-up opponents, he’s already carving his name into the 2XKO Hall of Fame just a few months in.

France’s redemption arc

After a shaky performance at Frosty, the French scene (repped by players like Wawa, WADE, Noka, Kayne, Senshii and yasha) is back with something to prove. Don’t let their last Major outing fool you; they have been grinding in US-based online weeklies, and led Season 1 of the EU Community Series with a confident win against Spain. Will that momentum be enough to take home the title for France?

2XKO’s first ever official tournament champion, Wawa.

Akali strikes from the shadows

Smoke-shifting assassin Akali hit 2XKO a couple of weeks ago, and since then players have been digging deep into the power of her mix and neutral tools. She has a tough-to-handle 50/50 setup in the corner (there’s counterplay!) but many top players are sticking to what they know. After Hikari’s Akali domination of the recent LVL UP EXPO tournament, I’d expect her to show up a few times in Top 24.

Upcoming Dates

  • April 30: Blood Moon Megabundle available
  • April 30: Evo Japan (2XKO Major Event) begins
  • (approx) May 12: Patch 1.2.1 live, Season 2 begins

All dates are in PDT.

Closing Thoughts

Contrary to popular opinion, I actually don’t run our social accounts on the daily. But for one night only, they’re giving me access for Evo Japan, so I’m pulling the night shift here in LA to post all the action live. Given the whole tournament takes place across a single day, expect upsets, and for those of you staying up to watch, please support your favourites during the stream!

Evo Japan marks the end of Season 1’s competitive action. It’s been cool seeing the meta and player storylines develop, and we’re only a month away from Combo Breaker! With a new Fuse on the horizon, who knows what sort of high-level chaos will soon unfold…

This update was brought to you by PatchRadar.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 29

GLOBAL

RICOCHET ANTI-CHEAT

We’re continuing to strengthen our anti-cheat systems to better protect players and ensure fair matches across all platforms. These changes do not apply until Season 04, at which point you can expect the following:

New Security Requirement: Microsoft Azure Attestation (MAA)

Microsoft Azure Attestation (MAA) will be required on PC to access most playlists. This system will help us verify that your PC environment hasn’t been tampered with, which is a key step in preventing cheating.

What This Means for PC Players

Players whose systems aren't compliant will see a message alerting them that Failed Attestation Status was applied and matchmaking will be adjusted.

Those attempting to play with others who have failed attestation will see a message that Failed Attestation Status is applied because one or more party members did not meet secure attestation requirements.

To be fully compliant, your system will need:

  • TPM (Trusted Platform Module) enabled
  • Secure Boot enabled

These are Windows security features that help verify your system is running in a trusted state. If you need help updating your settings, read our Player Support page (LINK).

If Attestation Fails

Players without these features enabled will be placed into limited matchmaking.

If you are placed into a limited matchmaking pool you will be:

  • Unable to match with players whose systems meet our requirements
  • Unable to match with console players

Playlists Impact

This enforcement will apply to all playlists, except (no MAA required):

  • Nuketown 24/7
  • Battle Royale Casual

Why This Matters

These updates are designed to:

  • Fully realize the security benefits of using Microsoft Azure Attestation
  • Remove high-risk players from the general player pool

> Hot Pursuit takes over the Black Ops Royale playlist for Season 03 Reloaded as a throwback to its Blackout debut back in 2019. Inspired by the original fast-paced, cat & mouse experience, this Limited-Time Mode offers a modern take on vehicle-focused gameplay now on Avalon.
>
> During this time, core Black Ops Royale modes will be temporarily rotated out to make room for Hot Pursuit. We plan on bringing the standard experience back in a future update, but for now, we’re keeping the playlist fresh by leaning into the spirit of variety.

  • Prop Hunt Royale Limited-Time Mode
    • Summary:
      • A round-based hide-and-seek mode where teams must win 3 out of 5 rounds to secure a victory.
      • Players alternate between Prop and Hunter roles each round.
      • Matches support up to 24 players per team.
    • Map:
      • Rebirth Island Winter Variant
    • Player Count:
      • 48 (2 teams of 24)

PLAYLIST

GENERAL

New

  • Personal Best System
    • Players can now track and challenge their highest individual performance records across matches.
    • Personal best metrics are now displayed in the Victory and Defeat screens:
      • Damage
      • Kills
      • Elimination/Death Ratio (E/D)
    • Tracks both all-time personal bests and weekly records.

RANKED PLAY

New

  • Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Series
    • Compete in the second season of the Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play Event, featuring 50-player leaderboards with Emblem and Weapon Camo rewards for top placements across all Ranks. Secure Ranked Play wins to earn additional rewards including a new Weapon Charm and Large Decal.
    • These Event Camos are distinct from the Multiplayer Ranked Event Camos and are earned in addition to the Weapon Camos unlocked during normal Ranked Play.

Adjusted

  • Restrictions
    • Added the following items to the list of restricted items:
      • Spikes
      • Hades LMG-SMG Conversion Kit
      • XR-3 Ion Sniper Rifle

GAMEPLAY

New

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • Spikes
    • High-powered perks that are now available exclusively through Buy Stations.
    • Each match will feature a random selection of 2 out of 3 available Spikes at every Buy Station.
    • Each Spike has a purchase limit of 2 per Buy Station.
    • Players may equip multiple Spikes; however, all held Spikes are lost upon death.
    • Available Spikes:
      • Armor Salvaging
        • Eliminations immediately grant 1 equipped armor plate.
      • Handicraft
        • Equipment regenerates over time.
      • Prone Firing
        • Greatly reduces recoil while prone.
        • Slightly reduces recoil while crouched.

LOOT & ECONOMY

Adjusted

» Black Ops Royale «

  • Backpack Default Category

    • Opening the Backpack will now default to the Perks category.
  • Weapon Upgrade Kit Rewards

    • Completing Executions and Bounty Contracts now rewards a Weapon Upgrade Kit.

» Battle Royale «

  • Supply Box Duplicate Prevention

    • Supply Boxes will no longer drop duplicate equipment types:
      • Maximum of 1 Field Upgrade
      • Maximum of 1 Lethal
      • Maximum of 1 Tactical
  • Equipment Drop Rate Balancing

    • Adjusted drop rates to better reflect commonly used and preferred equipment.
    • Increased drop rate for:
      • Molotov
    • Decreased drop rate for:
      • Deployable Cover
      • Phantom Signal
      • Needle Drone
      • C4

      • Replaced with Sensor Dart.
  • Perk Pool Updates

    • Legendary Chests
      • Drill Instructor
      • Berserker
      • Ghost
      • Irradiated
    • Contract Rewards
      • Sprinter
      • Adaptive
      • Ghost
      • Irradiated
  • Buy Station Updates

    • Added
      • Spikes
      • Removed
      • Counter UAV (CUAV)
      • Grappling Hook
  • Final Circle Behavior

    • Items exposed to the gas zone will now be disabled immediately once Buy Stations shut down in the final circle.

> This update to the final circle is intended to discourage players from remaining deep in the gas to utilize equipment, Field Upgrades, or Ammo Depots. The goal is to reinforce engagements within the intended safe zone. Additional changes are in development to address edge cases where players avoid combat by chaining Stims or repeatedly resupplying via Munitions Boxes in the gas, resulting in unintended endgame scenarios.

PUBLIC EVENTS

New

» Resurgence «

  • Classified Weapon
    • Added to Resurgence playlists.

> We’ve been pleased with the performance of the Classified Weapon in Battle Royale and are excited to bring it to Resurgence. As part of this addition, tuning adjustments have been made to better align with Resurgence’s faster pace and tighter engagements, while preserving the weapon’s unique identity.

CONTRACTS

Adjusted

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • Contract & Gas Circle Interaction

    • Contracts will no longer disappear immediately when entering the gas.
  • Supply Run

    • Cash reward significantly reduced.
    • Added to Haven’s Hollow.

> Supply Run is intended to provide a more affordable path to regain and progression, rather than serve as a primary source of cash. Certain strategies, such as vehicle usage, made the contract too easy to complete. This adjustment better aligns it with its intended role. Additional updates are planned to further define its identity.

  • Most Wanted
    • Updated kill reward behavior in Casual Resurgence:
    • Eliminations now reduce the timer by 15 seconds (down from 30 seconds).

EQUIPMENT

General

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • EMP Grenade

    • Added to Battle Royale and Resurgence.
    • Destroys equipment and disables many Field Upgrades and Killstreaks.
  • Cluster Grenade

    • Added to Battle Royale and Resurgence.
    • Detonates on impact, followed by multiple secondary explosions.
  • Sensor Dart

    • Added to Battle Royale and Resurgence with mode-specific tuning.
    • Maximum carry: 1
    • Duration: 7 seconds
    • Detection Radius: 35 meters

Adjusted

» Battle Royale & Resurgence «

  • Grappling Hook
    • Can now be used underwater in Battle Royale and Resurgence.

» Black Ops Royale «

  • Armor Satchel

    • Now grants 8 armor plates upon initial pickup.
  • Cymbal Monkey

    • Increased deployment animation speed.

KILLSTREAKS

Adjusted

  • Smoke Screen
    • No longer limited to 1 per Buy Station.
    • Smoke duration increased from 7 seconds to 12 seconds.
    • Number of deployed smokes increased from 5 to 9.
    • Improved deployment pattern to a more diagonal spread for increased coverage.
    • Reduced the number of Smoke Screen Killstreaks that can be active simultaneously on the map.
    • Reduced time before smoke impacts the ground.
    • Reduced delay between each smoke deployment for more consistent timing.

> These changes are designed to position Smoke Screen as a more viable and impactful Killstreak. Improvements to consistency, deployment speed, and overall coverage should provide players with more reliable tools for creating cover and executing tactical plays.

  • Precision Airstrike
    • Increased the range at which the warning banner appears by approximately 40%.

> Previous adjustments to Precision Airstrike deployment speed caused the warning banner to appear too late relative to impact. This change increases the warning distance to better align with its current behavior and provide clearer, more timely alerts to players.

WEAPONS

New Weapons

  • Siren Special (In-Season)

    • Charge energy weapon. Fires a high-damage, slow-moving projectile that passes through foes. Charge to improve projectile velocity.

    • Unlockable via RoboCop Event Pass.

    • Prestige Attachment: MFS Deflection Core

      • Fires a faster moving projectile that will ricochet off surfaces and enemies. Includes more ammo.
  • Katana Melee (In-Season)

    • Melee weapon. High damage, moderate range, and moderate attack speed.
    • Unlockable via Event: Call of Duty Endowment C.O.D.E. Navigator Challenge.

New Attachment

  • MK.78 Lightframe PDW Conversion

    • A drastic weight reduction allows for more mobile and aggressive usage while retaining much of its power at the expense of additional recoil and reduced damage range.
    • Unlockable via Weekly Challenge Reward.
  • Warden 308 Badlands Pistol Kit

    • Heavy pistol configuration that sacrifices some control and range for improved handling and mobility with strong firepower at close range. Supports akimbo and three additional Barrel Attachments.

      • The Barrel Attachments unlocked when using the Warden 308 Badlands Pistol Kit include the following:

        • 10” Spiral Barrel: Extended barrel for improved damage range and recoil control.
        • 6” Snub Nose Barrel: Lightweight barrel for improved handling. Removes the pre-fire delay for a faster fire rate but harms damage range.
        • 8” Admonish Barrel: Extends one-hit kill potential to neck and upper torso at max range. Increases headshot multiplier to allow one-shot eliminations at longer range. Harms handling and recoil control.
    • Unlockable via Weekly Challenge Reward.

  • Carbon 57 Fabricator Mag

    • State of the art magazine that automatically replenishes its own ammo by fabricating additional rounds as soon as you stop firing.
    • Unlockable via Weekly Challenge Reward.
  • Ryden 45K Apex Sweeper Rig

    • Rounds that break apart in flight dealing damage with each piece that connects. Converts the weapon to semi-auto.
    • Unlockable via Weekly Challenge Reward.
