I keep going to YouTube as well but nobody has the right chest that I need.

So I went on a family reunion in east St. Louis and during the ride I brought some comics that I bought from the local comic book shop and Barnes and noble. We picked up my uncle who is a huge comic book enthusiast(he’s a big X-men fan).

I was reading one of them and he got interested in the ones I was reading (more specifically the static issue and he admired the art). This got into a deeper conversation on black representation in superhero media.

He first brought up meteor man being the first black hero we see and while it was decent it was far from the “real superhero movie”. Then blade with Wesley Snipes came along and changed everything (he also talked about the Mahershala blade but this was like days before the news got out). Then both black panther movies had big turn outs. There’s definitely interest but you got to tell the story in a meaningful way basically.

Now with everything going on (specifically in MCU) it feels sort of unfair with what’s happening to shows and movies and the characters that get sidelined.

Edit: I grew up in the early 2000s and there was only a handful of people I can think of like Green Lantern John Stewart, static, storm, black panther cyborg and Jack Landors from SPD just to name a few.

So last night my family were watching the new Kevin Hart movie 72 hours. During it the topic of Cuba Gooding Jr came up. My sister (18) recognizes the actor Mason Gooding because she watched the later Scream movies. My dad(50) brings up that he is the son of Cuba.

My sister looks at my parents confused because she doesn’t know who Cuba is. So now my mom (49) starts listing off movies Jerry Maguire, Boyz n the Hood, Norbit etc. My sister still looks confused as to who this man is and my mom is defeated.

Later in the movie my sister is on her phone googling Cuba movies. She finally sees something she recognizes which is the movie Selma. Now you think this would be a good thing. WRONG! She then blurts out “Ooohh he played Dr. King in Selma.” At that point my mom told her to shut up and watch the movie.

So we haven’t heard anything from mystique this whole show. We haven’t heard the X-men mention anything about her we haven’t seen wanted posters. I don’t even think we heard news of her. Something in my gut is telling me that she’s actually Valerie Cooper in disguise.

Saw the He-man movie some weeks ago and thought it was pretty good. One question I have is who is this? I’ve been meaning to ask because last time I watched OG He-Man Netflix was still sending you movies to your mailboxes.

I’m at Broks funeral and I saw something on TikTok on how to revive him. Basically before you get off the boat have freya shoot exploding sigils at his body and hit it with your axe he’ll run right to you.
