AF award availability inconsistency

I have been trying to book an AF J flight. CDG-JFK on 5-30.

Etihad and JAL say there is availability, but I would prefer to use Virgin Atlantic. I called Virgin Atlantic and they say there is nothing. I checked Delta as well and they have nothing. I then figured it has to be that for some reason it is available to non-alliance partners, so I checked Qantas and they have nothing.

Are Etihad and JAL both showing phantom availability, or do they get more access than other airlines?

With Citibank adding 1:1 JAL, what transfer partners (or rate changes) do you realistically see being added to compete?

Complete noob what am I doing wrong with bump key?

I keep trying to open an SC1 lock with a bump key. I can only ever get it to drop into a false set, but can never get it to unlock.

Do you just keep hitting until it works? Do I need to restart once it drops into a false set? Any advice is appreciated. Videos online show it unlocking in like 10 seconds.

(Yes I have a bump ring, and yes I am applying tension.)

I have false claims on my record, and believe I have exhausted all options.

A few years ago. I was on a family plan with State Farm. A year ago, I got my own insurance plan. I was just recently shopping for another plan, and I find out that a few claims that my parents made had me as the driver when it was really my father as State Farm filed the claim incorrectly when they called to file (we have almost the same names, and according to my old agent they don’t have a place for suffixes when selecting the covered driver.)

I contacted LexisNexis to get this fixed, and they only removed one claim. Leaving the others. Ignoring the fact that I did not, in fact, drive their RV ever and was located in a different state during the time of the claim.

These claims will stay on my driving record until 2028 per my research.

Do I have any other resource after this appeal, or am I damned to having a crappy driving record and expensive insurance until 2028?

Business plan international ESim question

I am currently a Verizon business customer and looking at switching about 12 lines over to T-Mobile business (particularly Supermobile). We generally finance new phones, and our company uses all iPhones. Pricing I got from T-Mobile is very very competitive to say the least, but I ran into an issue.

It appears that T-Mobile financed devices are carrier locked until paid off. Which is different from Verizon who automatically unlocks after a couple months.

Usually the workarounds for this are to purchase from Apple with T-Mobile financing, but I don’t believe this is possible on a business plan, or to do a temporary unlock which iPhones don’t support. I would be ok with paying off the phones, but iirc you lose the credits.

Can T-Mobile support or my business rep unlock an iPhone for international travel, or would I just be SoL.

Would love to be corrected if anything I said is wrong, or if anyone has solved this predicament.

Bilt is changing their fees for Non-Bilt cards

Tl;dr Amex Discover debit will continue to only pay 250 points for rent payment. However, they will now charge a 3% fee making it the worst of both worlds with regards to credit and debit cards.

Service fee waived?

I am staying in the Hyatt Regency Tokyo and was wondering if the 35k JPY fee would be waived if I used my GoH certificate. In the bill it is labeled as a “service fee.”

Has anyone managed to link a Fidelity CMA with Amex checking?

I want to use my Amex checking account for Zelle, but everytime I try to link the accounts in the Amex app it gives an error. I have no trouble paying my Amex CC with the CMA, but it does not let me link to my checking account.

6th ref bonus

Interesting DP. Got a 6th ref bonus and the points paid out on my BBP. I think it’s because the first one was on April 4th which is the exact day the terms changed.

Might be good news for people with refs before 4-4 since you might have the ability to earn more.

Do Chase offers work with PayPal?

Want to split a purchase of some Away Luggage and want to take advantage of the $100 credit on the CSP. Will I still get it if I make the purchase through PayPal?

I want to put the rest of the purchase on an Amex I have a sub with right now and a 4% back offer.

The offer says it has to be made directly with the merchant, but I’ve read DPs of them working before.

CS Platinum awards statement credit instead of MR for new user.

Is this common for Amex? All my other MR cards give MR for links.

Currently have JAL business booked in September from NRT-SAN at 6pm on a 787. Can pay 30k more C1 for HND-JFK that leaves at 11am. It’s 3 hours longer. I live in Houston so my second domestic leg is gonna be the same distance anyway.

I’ve heard many preach the gospel of the JAL A350, but is it really worth 30k more points and 3 hours longer?

(My inbound to Japan is United Polaris for those wondering btw got a great deal for 90k United if my ANA waitlists don’t pull through.)
