What is your {CANDIDATE MOST RECENT ACHIEVEMENT}?

That is, if this field was filled in the Corporate Synergy post, what would it say?

Achieved Second Sunday Gold? Got 12 new Portals approved? Took down a giant RES field?

Quotes you use from the series

I’m re-reading The Belgariad for the first time in a while after reading the whole series of books in my teens.

I wondered if there’s any quotes you find yourself using in day to day life from the series.

One I’ve been using that made me laugh a few days ago is when Silk tricks a group in to thinking a bag of rocks is gold. I believe Barak says something along the lines of “They will kill him (the bandit leader) you know?” to which his reply is “I would be terribly disappointed if they didn’t”

So I have been using that line (in variations) to people.

“You know they’ll be annoyed when they find out you stuck googly eyes on their keyboard”
“I would be terribly disappointed if they weren’t”

Ingress Insights Podcast: Episode 163 - Apollo Anomaly Results report in

Hey Agents. It was 1am when I finished recording so couldn’t think of a witty title.

This episode goes over the recent results and my current progress in the ongoing Campaigns as well as a mention about Scopely Explore.

This does have some extra content over on Patreon this week too! Hope you enjoy it!

As a reminder, on Wednesday the second Redux episode will be up. These are my older episodes, run through some audio filters to make them sound better than they did in 2023 with a £20 mic balancing on 5 D&D books, with the intro and outro added too. These will go up every 2-3 weeks on a Wednesday.

Next week, I’ll look ahead at August and run through the Red Codex media.

Ingress Web Store when?

We do have the Ingress Shopify store for buying cards, patches and badges etc.

However, increasingly mobile games are getting around the extra charges/cut that the store take on iOS/Google by having their own web store and encouraging players to check it by offering some small freebies.

The former Niantic games (Pikmin, Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now) all have one. Two other games I play (Jurassic World Alive and Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links) have one. I just picked up some currency that is the equivalent of CMU in the latter for free. It would be great to see the Ingress team do something similar. I get that the idea is to entice me to spend on the web store with the freebies and I may do that for the JW Alive one at pay day as there’s some decent offers there.

Which companions have canonically seen The Doctor naked?

There’s Clara with 11 and Donna with Meta Crisis. Sure I’ve missed one or two in some Big Finish tale

I’m sure things will improve now they’ve slapped Scopely Explore on the start up screen

Ingress Insights Podcast: Episode 162 - Operation ̶P̶o̶r̶t̶a̶l̶ ̶R̶e̶c̶o̶n̶ Moonlit Paths

Hey Agents. This weeks episode goes over the new Campaign we have coming up as well some questions I put to Brian Rose with some answers. Next week I plan to go through all the Red Codex lore, but that may be its own separate special episode if it is very long.

I’ve also got some new audio software so have been going through some older episodes (some are coming up to three years old and I recorded them with a £20 microphone stacked on top of several D&D books) & fine tuning the audio, adding in the current intro, adding in the current outro and have scheduled these as “Redux” (if Ingress can do it, why not?) episodes that will go out every 2 weeks or so on Wednesdays.

I won’t post them up here, but there’s the first episode on the feed with the second episode scheduled for 22nd July.

Anyways, enjoy your Sunday all!

What do you want to see more (or less) of from Ingress in 2027?

We’re over half way through the year now so I would think the team are looking ahead to 2027.

We will get the usual anniversary post in November noting the achievements and new features etc. added, so wanted to ask what the community wants to see more or less of next year in Ingress.

Introducing Scopely Explore

Last year, we welcomed the Niantic games team behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, Monster Hunter Now, and companion apps Campfire and Wayfarer to Scopely.

As these games continue to flourish as part of the Scopely portfolio, we are introducing a new name for the team: Scopely Explore.

The name reflects a mission that has guided these teams from the very beginning.

Exploration sits at the heart of these games and experiences, and the communities they serve. Whether encouraging players to discover new places, connect with others, or experience the world in new ways, this team has always been united by a belief that there is more to explore.

Scopely Explore is not a separate company or subsidiary. It is a mission-driven team within Scopely. Like all of the experiences in our portfolio, these games and products are developed and published by Scopely.

Scopely Explore will continue building experiences that inspire people to get outside, connect with one another, and explore the world together for many years to come as part of Scopely.

Over the coming weeks, you will see the Niantic name begin to evolve across platforms to Scopely Explore.

Hey Agents, a bit later than usual for today as I was attending First Saturday and then my Sunday mornings are always busy.

I chat a bit about First Saturday and the NZ closure. I’ve done two special episodes that will be up on Wednesday and next Wednesday but I won’t post those here.

Have a great Sunday all!
