Watched the Backrooms movie and saw some similarities

So this is Kaihua (開花, which translates to ‘blooming‘ or ’flowering’ in traditional Chinese)! He is the main antagonist of my Home Sweet Home AU for Nine Sols, where Yi doesnt kill anyone….. At all (ending made me unsatisfied, so I just made it where it’s not like a redemption arc, it’s just that Yi doesnt kill, so that means Eigong is still alive). Here’s his lore:

”To be free is to bloom. To stretch your arms and wings wide and fly away into the bright sky, blissfully ignorant of the death and famine below.” - Kaihua.

Fengshuang (风霜, wind and frost in traditional Chinese) Liào (廖) was born in the Shang Kingdom during the Turbulent Era, but was unfortunately in a (somehow) state of being just above poverty line. Not wanting another mouth to feed, he was sent out onto the streets, now being extremely below the poverty line. This caused him to steal, harm, and scam others just for his own benefits. This bothered him greatly as he wished to be an architect, not a con artist. He wanted to build something great that would be his legacy.

After a while of this life style, he managed to buy a house (still pretty terrible, as it was old and pretty decrepit.) Where he continued to live miserably until he joined the Tiandao (pretty much hated it but he did it because he was tired of all the conning.) One thing to note is he never liked any of the Sols, thinking they were all know-it-alls who thought they were better than him.

Finally, the climax of his story begins when he is injected with the Tianhuo serum, thinking he’d be safe from the illness. Only to discover that was very, very….. WRONG. Returning back to his lonely home, he felt the sickness crawl into his eyes, filling them with Tianhuo, and something inside his right arm, puncturing it and trying to escape. After vomiting for a while, he realized his eyes were filled with Tianhuo, his right eye had a flower blooming out of it, and his right arm was completely enveloped. This made him so terribly ashamed he didn’t even realize he could still think and went back to his apartment, staying bedridden for a week before evolving larger (Not into the pic you see now). Rage enveloped his mind as he blamed the Sols for what happened to him. Wanting nothing more than to die, he walked into an area full of Tianhuo, thinking it’d kill him, only for the mutants to simply ignore him. In fact, they listened to him and brought him whatever he wanted, bringing to his head a terrible* idea.

Flash to 500 years, he’s evolved to control every part of the Tianhuo hivemind, enjoying being infected more than he ever did in his past life. Still, rage pours in his mind as he watches New Kunlun.

We were literally worried about Soul taking over Forsaken a month ago but now no one’s saying anything, and they even announced a new chapter (largest one in Forsaken too as of the moment).
