Unique passives will ruin the game!

One of the appeals of the league classic is the possibility of doing the crazy dotalike build, but with the unique passive system riot announced it will be just ugly modern league

I don't like the ending of No Country for Old Men

I just watched No Country for Old Men, and I really liked it. It's the first movie in a long time where I didn't even pick up my phone once. But I have to say that I found the ending a bit disappointing.

To me, the movie spends its entire runtime reinforcing two ideas: no one is special, and the rules you live by won't save you forever.

We see this with the story about the ox ("one day the ox won't dodge the bullet") and with Carson Wells. Carson made it so far because of the way he lived, but eventually those same rules failed him.

Then there's Chigurh.

By the end of the movie, everyone loses except him. He never gets betrayed by his own philosophy, never truly faces the consequences of it, and never dies to reinforce the idea that no one is untouchable. Yes, he gets injured in the car accident, but he still escapes, completes his mission, and walks away.

I think a stronger ending would have been for Chigurh to die in that car accident. It would have reinforced the movie's own message with a perfect anticlimax: great villains don't always die in an epic final showdown. Most of the time, death just... happens.

Instead, the ending left me feeling like the movie says, "No one is special... except Chigurh."

Mod problem

So, I saw this mod on YouTube and it seems really helpful, but I don't know how to make it work. I subscribed to it on Steam, but it still doesn't show up on the mod list. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Ok, I need help

This is the post I didn't want to make. I bought Kenshi a few days ago and promised myself that I would never search for anything; I would learn by playing.

My first character went okay. I wanted to build a cowboy and got really excited when I learned that you could be a bounty hunter. I was a little disappointed when I found out there isn't a revolver in the game, but okay. I started mining and ended up with four people just mining and researching while I played base-building simulator.

Second character: since I got completely off my original objective with the first one, I decided to make a solo legendary swordsman skeleton. I wouldn't mine this time. I would only make money by doing what I created the character for: combat, either through bounties or by selling loot. But it's impossible to level up the first few combat levels. I can't even beat the homeless guy in the Hub. How do I get through those first few levels?

To summarize: what should I do to stop getting beaten up by every moving thing in the game without spending days on a training dummy?

Which combo should I invest for devil jin?

The first one makes me want to kill myself. The second f,d,df+3+4, is almost impossible to do, but the combo deals great damage.

The second combo is almost impossible to drop; it's really easy, and the damage isn't that far behind the first one.

Which one should I spend my time practicing? Or is there a third combo that has better damage and is easier to perform than these two?

Killer Instinct (Arcade) won't launch on Recalbox 18.03.16 (Raspberry Pi 3)

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get the original Killer Instinct arcade version running on my Raspberry Pi 3 with Recalbox 18.03.16, but I'm stuck.

Here's my setup:

- Raspberry Pi 3

- Recalbox 18.03.16

- Arcade emulator tested:

- Libretro + mame078

- Libretro + mame2010

- AdvanceMAME

The ROM is organized like this:

roms/mame/

├── kinst.zip

└── kinst/

└── kinst.chd

The ZIP contains the ROM files directly in the root (no extra folder inside the ZIP).

When I launch the game:

- With mame078, the screen flashes once and returns to EmulationStation.

- With mame2010, it flashes twice and returns to EmulationStation.

- AdvanceMAME also fails to launch it.

Other MAME games (like Mortal Kombat) work perfectly, so MAME itself is working.

The ROM I tried came from MyAbandonware. I also rebuilt the ZIP to make sure the ROM files are in the root of the archive instead of inside an extra folder, but it still doesn't work.

I also noticed that the Recalbox Web Manager returns an HTTP 500 error whenever I try to open the MAME ROM list, although MAME games still show up and launch normally from EmulationStation.

My questions are:

  1. Has anyone managed to run Killer Instinct arcade on Recalbox 18.03.16?

  2. Which emulator/core should I use?

  3. Does it require a specific MAME romset or CHD version?

  4. Is Killer Instinct even supported on a Raspberry Pi 3 with this version of Recalbox?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Adding games to the arcade machine

I bought an arcade cabinet a while ago, but there are some games I'd really like to play that aren't installed on it. I'd like to know if it's possible to download and add new games.

This is the board it uses: (photo of the board)

And this is the operating system/software version: (photo of the system information screen)

I'd like to know:

Is it possible to add new games to this system?

If so, how can I do it?

How safe is the process?

What's the risk of bricking the arcade cabinet or damaging the system?

My idea of changes this character needs

less damage on QQ
more range (not AoE, just throw range) on QW
more damage on QE
more range on EE, at least the same range as QE

And then I could finally rest. I hate how this champion went from a DPS mage to a burst mage. I miss melting people with EE + QE.
