WE WON "BEST VIDEOGAME" AND "ORIGINAL IDEA" AT "IDA 2026"!

Our game The Outer Frame was part of the official selection for IDA 2026.

physical expo that included industry talks, local games, and a lot of awesome people. A lot of them got to experience The Outer Frame (it's not the shortest of demos), and the reception was beyond awesome! They really dig it!

It's always great to be able to share a project you spent so much time working on behind closed doors. To see someone laugh at a joke you put there a year ago, or react to a some spoilery stuff.

There was also an awards ceremony.

The Outer Frame was nominated for "BEST NARRATIVE" and "ORIGINAL IDEA". It won "ORIGINAL IDEA"!!

But there was a slightly bigger and goldier award left on the stage. When they announced we won BEST VIDEOGAME it was such a surprise! We were speechless, literally without speech!

There were no nominees for that category, so there was no way of knowing.

Sometimes you can say you were just happy to be there, to get anything. Sometimes you just get really lucky! It truly was the cherry on top of such an amazing day for our little 2-dev team.

The Outer Frame is a choice-driven puzzle simulation where you take on a dual role of detective and fixer. Commanding from behind your desk a team of agents to find out what happened, so you can bury the truth forever. You choose how by issuing the orders that’ll decide everyone’s fate, before the public catches on and goes all torch-and-pitchfork.

Every choice shapes the narrative, every attempt brings you closer to the full picture. You are probably not the hero in this one.

You can support The Outer Frame on Steam!

The Outer Frame estaba nominado a Mejor Narrativa e Idea Original. Y ganamos Idea Original!

Help with sound effects and time travel!

In our game [The Outer Frame] you can accelerate time, by using an "enhanced clock".

We made any animation that plays during the time acceleration periods play faster using CineMachine.

But our current battle is with sound effects.
We want that any sound that plays during "time acceleration" to shift to a higher speed, and also be able to go back to normal speed if you decelerate before said sound has stopped playing.

Is there a way to change the speed of a sound once it has instantiated and is being played?
If not, what smoke and mirrors can I use to achieve the desired outcome/illusion?

NO DEMO. 11,200+ Wishlists. What worked after a lot of NOTHING

I made my game [The Outer Frame] steam page last year, I rushed it to take part on the biggest local event in my country. It brought around 100 wishlists, and that was it.

I knew next to nothing about getting into showcases or marketing. So I just worked on the game hoping it would be great (yeah, I know: bad bad). The people that got to play it wanted to keep playing. They really liked it! But I didn't know how to get it out there! So I just kept working on the game.

On march I found the HTMAG festival list... and it changed everything. Got a LOT of rejections that I completely attribute to my old trailer. It was very slow with a lot of black screens with text at the beggining. Big BIG mistake!

The InterfaceX26 Showcase brought 600 WL and I couldn't believe it, that tiny double bump was the biggest mountain ever.

Then the Summer Showcase of Summer Showcases went live. It was a line-up with a lot of different showcases (black voices, women led games, Latin american games, etc).

I had made a NEW trailer for it, with a playtest announcement for Q3. I couldn't wait to reveal the trailer, I felt it was that good (compared to the former one, of course), no black screens at the beggining, faster pacing, composed new music, it showed more and it was shorter!

I don't know if it was the perfect storm or what, but it brought 8,500+ WL in 4 days. And I'm getting reached by publishers.

Showcases that have a capsule on Steam's front page make such a difference! Also there were other showcases in the line up that were pretty much the games "target audience" like: Story-Rich games and women led games. I think that helped too.

Showcases + Fast eye catching trailers + NO BLACK SCREENS (at the beggining of your trailer). This probably gets repeated to no end. Well, t worked for me. Show your game, you don't need a demo to take part on most showcases!

I still have a LOT to improve for a new trailer but hey, I'm learning here.

My Roguelite Cover-Up Sim just hit 11,200 wishlists!

Hi, everyone! This is "The Outer Frame"

Something [REDACTED] happened, the higher ups are not sure exactly what, and nobody else knows yet. It's your job to keep it that way. Fix it. From your desk.

You decide how to investigate the extent of the situation, and how to deal with it.

Do it before the public catches on, goes all torch and pitchfork, and you get fired.

It's a choice-driven desk-bound mystery where time is against you in more than one way.

You are probably not the hero in this one.

The Outer Frame - Official Trailer

Play the dual role of detective and fixer, command the perfect cover-up from behind your desk.
Intercept calls, stay ahead of the media, gather intel, and issue the orders that'll decide the fate of everyone involved.
Try again and again to reshape the narrative before the masses learn way to much in this choice-driven thriller.

Or you are fired.

Steam Showcases & No Black-Screens-Trailers aka how I hit 10,000+ WL after a lot of nothing

We released a New Trailer & Playtest Announcement for [The Outer Frame]

Our trailer JUST premiered during the LAGS - Summer Fest Edition Showcase!!
So excited to finally share this! Because we hid a choice-driven point-and-click adventure in a desk job sim with a roguelite time loop, and we just wanted to tell you about it.

We'll get more specific about the Q3 2026 playtest date as it looms closer!
What do you think of the trailer?

Working on a new trailer for my game The Outer Frame. What do you get out of the current one?

The current trailer does not care to show that:

  1. you get different outcomes out of the order of your actions.
  2. You can lose agents
  3. Failure is part of the loop, you will restart your day, and every run will give you a better idea of what to do or what to focus on.
    4.Multitasking is the way
