


A 490 CE Rajasthan inscription at Chhoti Sadri records earliest known mention of the Gaura Kṣatriyas — linking the Gaur Rajputs to one of the oldest surviving Rajput lineages. Later, the Gaurs seized Maroth from the Dahiyas and named the region Gaurati/Gorawati (“Land of the Gaurs”).

The Gaur Rajputs seized Maroth from the Dahiyas who were the then rulers of this Tract & Feudatories of Chauhan.
After defeating the Dahiyas,The Gaurs named this Region after them as Gaurati/Gorawati i.e The Land of Gaurs
