Merrily We Roll Along - the movie version we will be getting in about 20 years - actors’ age

I went on way too long, quite unnecessarily - so
TL;DR:
• why did they decide to do a production that would take 20 years to make, but casted actors 10 years older than the initial ages of the characters - instead of casting people around 18-22 (even 24 ok). Would’ve actually been magnificent to see the actors age along with the characters - while actually being the same age as them, instead of 10 years older at every scene?

Long version of my sayings:
So of course, this is regarding the actors’ age. I’m sorry if this is a topic that has been discussed plenty before - I just have never ran into a post about it here or on other subs.
So the point of Merrily (if you haven’t seen it this may be spoiler-ish, though I’m not talking actual plot) is to see a friendship that takes place over 20 years - but backwards, from how it all ended to how it all began.
Now making a movie production that actually takes place over 20 years sounds like such a brilliant, exciting and amazing idea to me - a new fan of the show. A lot because it cannot be done in theatre at all (and I haven’t seen Boyhood, but I’m glad someone has these kinds of projects as their niche).
BUT the point in Merrily is that the characters start out at ages of late teen- early 20 (somewhere between 18 and 21). And I don’t feel like the plot would work if we were to change the characters’ age to a decade older. For THAT REASON, I don’t understand why the casting and beginning of the filming is done with actors in their early 30s. I’m assuming they are just gonna play characters that are 10 years younger than their actual age while filming - and I also feel like this ruins the spark and misses the point of having a 20 years long filming process. I mean at the last (first) scene, Ben Platt or Paul Mezcal (I don’t know who plays Charley and who does Frank, I feel like Ben Platt is definitely a Charley tho, I’ll get mad again if he’s Frank, anyway - back to my point) is gonna be 50!! Though I’m more bothered with them being 30 instead of 20 - cause that’s where age differences matter more.
Anyway, I’m going off course here: I get that they might’ve wanted to take already famous and established, as well as experienced actors, instead of “risking it” but I feel like if you make a tiny effort, you can find ones already established, who have proven their talents and are around the correct age of the characters for the first scenes (ok I can only think of Andrew Barth Feldman at the moment, but I’m sure there are more!!).
So unless there’s already been a secret filming with the Beanie, Ben and Paul for the past 10 years - I feel like this is a HUGE missed opportunity. (I mean you’re already waiting 20 yearsss, why not make the actors’ age fit!!)

People with 0 connection or knowledge of Arabic or of Hebrew, if you were to hear both/either language - do you feel like you can tell them apart?

Before I decide to run an experience. Which would be very tiring.
Both are Semitic and I am a speaker of one - so I have no self perspective of the matter.
Though I don’t know if the question I’m asking is possible to have answers, lol (as people who can answer would have some experience with either language)

Does anyone sometimes miss a stimulant they were taken off of?

I mean, not in a craving caused by addiction - way (I can only assume), since it’s been a few months (almost half a year) since I was taken off Adderal. But I sometimes (and only sometimes) still find myself missing it, or wishing I had this. And this is weirdly enough - mostly for daily life stuff and not in academic contexts (in them I’m doing fine with non-stimulant adhd meds)

What do you do when you’re stressed/anxious but functioning, and your meds don’t make it go down?

Asking for advice or just sharing of what do you do in cases when you have a task at hand, you’re functioning, but also rather anxious or stressed whilst doing it (probably physical with hidden emotional symptoms). It does make the work less efficient. And your meds such as prescribed benzos don’t make this feeling go away.

Seeking tip: do you also have that patch of random objects that keeps getting switched around, depending on what you’re doing?

Disclaimer that may not matter: I’ve adhd so it might be contributing to my messiness.
So I have had this issue before with clothes (those undefined between clean and dirty), to which I’ve found a solution (laundry basket for undefined clothes - could be worn again or thrown into laundry area). (Tho it is overflowing and I need a general organizing day for my room).

Anyway, I’ve this blob of objects that don’t seem to have a designated place that keeps getting tossed around between bed, chair and desk (as I usually hang on the bed but need the chair and desk for studying).
I know finding a designated storage place for these objects is the ultimate solution, but I just feel like I’ve ran out of those.
These are also objects that are to be moved around in their nature (whiteboard, dslr camera that’s too big to fit anywhere, picture frames waiting to be hung and a few notebooks) - so finding a place for them is hard at its core.

I know I generally just need to efficient storage space, somehow. I’m just looking for strings to begin with for now.
Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Some pondering regarding stimulants and regarding non stimulants ADHD medication

So main issues I’m trying to cover here are Vyvanse + anxiety and just curious about non stimulants adhd meds for other people, since I haven’t seen a lot of discussion about it here.

I’ve been on adderall for about a year and so, had a patch of Vyvanse in the middle and have now been switched to what in the US is Strattera.

So I’ll start with the question regarding Vyvanse and anxiety. I have been taken off stimulants with the claim that it worsens my anxiety (I’m not sure about it, tho it is plausible). While Adderal was heaven to me (and I did not see a clear causation between taking it and anxiety spikes), Vyvanse clearly had affected my mental health for worse. I can tell for sure that I am very tense if not occupied when on Vyvanse (30mg was my dose, tho 15mg seems to have less of that effect). And I wonder, is it simply the increased heart rate that would cause this? Or are there other mechanisms. Because it feels like real anxiety, as in - more than just physical (tho the physical aspect is heightened compared to my usual anxiety).
Now I find this surprising compared to other people - as ive heard Adderal is usually the one that makes people jumpy, compared to Vyvanse - and for me these were opposite. As when I thought Vyvanse was a good fit I would feel overly smart and task oriented, while on Adderal I felt it way “low key” and it had sort of a euphoric effect on me (or I simply remember it this way - nostalgia and etc).

Now regrading Strattera and such (I don’t know why it’s in bold), I just want to hear what your experience with it has been. As I’ve come to a conclusion that it does help me be more regulated and focused (at least when university work) though it’s surely less effective than stimulants. But still I can’t clearly know whether there’s a causation there (as I’ve been able to study before Adderal, so maybe I’m just back at that point).

This post feels kind of pointless and directionless, I think I’ve not found what my exact question is, or what sort of validation I’m seeking, so it might not get a lot of attention. Might come back with a more precise version.

I am mostly scared at my anxiety reaction to Vyvanse (even though I don’t take it anymore, I still do rarely but sometimes (wrongfully))
And am always wondering if I should try to set my psychs on a path back to Adderal, as I’m not sure what is better for me. (Obviously I struggle with mood and anxiety issues as well as adhd [or so diagnosed]).

What’s your motivation for leveling up?

Is it simply the fun of telling the world (whoever wants to hear and whomever does not) about your experience with the thrill of reward (the leveling up and getting semi badges), or is there something beyond that? I hear that back in the day, they would send people prizes - but I assume that is far from being the case nowadays.
Just wondering if there’s more to it, then leveling up - such as, something more social (followers are gone, so I’m guessing they’re going in an opposite direction), or possible other benefits that I’ve missed (despite levels, points and very few badges).
I do get an occasional Email telling me about my great contribution to the community, but not much beyond that.

Two for one: coffee and rewatching a musical

  1. Should I drink a tiny cup of coffee? (It’s a quarter to 8 pm)
  2. Should I do a rewatch of Merrily We Roll Along, a musical I fell in love with recently. Watched it for the first time a month and few days ago? Or should I wait longer for a rewatch (don’t wanna ruin the experience or something, as I listen to the soundtrack repeatedly and it might change the imagings in my head)
(Also worry I won’t enjoy watching something, as yesterday I tried watching an Amy Schumer movie and couldn’t get through it)

Following the release of the ‘movie’ recording of Merrily We Roll Along.
What a dream this cast recording is!
Couldn’t listen to anything else the past month.
I am dying to know how many times I’ve listened to each song - But the company’s name is too long so it doesn’t show (kind of an Apple Music bug?)
+ This seems to have missed two crucial songs. I’m certain I’ve listened to ‘Franklin Shepard inc.’ possibly more times than to ‘Old Friends’. And ‘Bobby and Jackie and Jack’ is certainly missing as well, should be 8th or higher, the way I know myself. (That’s another bug, though not the issue - I may hit up the Apple Music sub)

So this one shows birthday as one connected word, but I remember ‘verjaardag’ meaning ‘birthday’.

So is “geboortedag” just literally ‘birth - day’ as in the day you are physically born in (and not the annually reoccurring date in which it happened) while “verjaardag” is the one in the date you celebrate. Or can they both be used as the casual “birthday” (or am I getting this all wrong/mixing it all up) ?

Thank you 🙏🏼
