My local UK store has tinned sardines and mackerel, but only in normal or spicy tomato sauce. No oil, water or brine option for either fish.

To be clear there wasn't even a label for sardines or mackerel in oil, water or brine in the tinned fish section so it wasn't like they had it and just ran out of stock on that day.

Are all other UK stores like this at the moment?

Is this just a Lidl thing where they shuffle tinned fish stock every week (similar to their different themed weeks)?

Are Lebara's new physical SIMs still using Vodafone's core or their own core? What will this mean in terms of call quality?

I was originally going to triangle port from Lebara to Lycamobile to Lebara.

I am now currently on Lycamobile and having second thoughts about going back to Lebara after hearing concerns on this subreddit about their new eSIMs (and even new physical SIMs?) using Lebara's own core located in Sweden for routing instead of Vodafone's core.

Are new physical SIMs still using Vodafone's core or Lebara's own core?

Will I still have HD call quality (AMR-WB/EVS as opposed to the worse AMR-NB standard) on Lebara's own core?

Do NOT use Lycamobile if you are triangle porting.

My plan was to port my number from Lebara to Lycamobile, and then from there back to Lebara to take advantage of the new customer deals.

My number has been transferred to Lyca today. I cannot get a PAC code from Lyca, as when I text PAC to 65075 I get an unhelpful response of "Sorry, your Pac Request is failed please try again later..!".

On a side note, the call quality sucks and there is a noticeable delay from initiating a call to hearing the dial tone.

I have called their customer service line, and the representative from the overseas call centre said she will talk with her higher-ups to get a PAC code within 48 hours.

I am already not impressed and there are definitely better options out there for triangle porting.

Do the S22's wifi antennas suck this bad, or is it just my particular unit?

When running a speedtest connected to a wifi 6-capable router on my base S22 (exynos version), I get around 300mbps max and speed fluctuates a lot.

On the same network and in the same room, a Honor 90 (which also supports wifi 6 and has a weaker sd 7 gen 1 chipset) gets 850-900mbps on a speedtest to the same server.

Anyone else having poor wifi performance, or just me?

Has anyone else's recently gained rank points disappeared when they went back to the lobby?

I gained points on my last match and I supposedly got promoted from Diamond I to Crown V (I saw the animation and everything) but when I exited the match, I am still in Diamond I and have not gained any points; it's like the match never happened.

This was a ranked Erangel squad match in the Europe server if it's any relevant.

Is anyone else facing this issue?

What are your thoughts about Peacehaven becoming part of Brighton and Hove City Council?

Will it be better or worse than ESCC and LDC in your opinion?

I'm just hoping it will lead to Peacehaven becoming part of the citysaver ticket area for buses, instead of the more expensive networksaver area.

I feel so f'ing stupid.

I'm seriously considering options of studying dentistry abroad in Bulgaria now. I've practiced every day since the 8th June and despite that I'm still getting a shitty score. My exam is on the 20th of August. My struggling parents have been blowing £30 per month on medify and are going to be so angry when I get an abysmal score in the UCAT.

Should I get a third party router? Any other benefits of a third party router?

I am on Vodafone's 500mbps (openreach) service using their old THG3000 router not their new pro router. (As vodafone hate their existing customers 😅)

I am getting 200mbps minimum in any area of the house, however I almost never get the maximum unless I am right next to the router.

I don't really notice the speed unless I am downloading a game update or big file (which is getting more frequent), which I then move my laptop and wire it into my router.

Tbh it would be nice to have 500mbps all around the house, which I think wouldn't be impossible with a good router as I already get 4-5 bars of signal strength throughout the home.

Are there any other advantages of a third party router? Is it worth buying one for the convenience of max speed around the home?

I have a late payment in May of this year. How will it affect my remortgage?

I know it was my fault and I paid the full amount and late payment fee immediately after noticing. I chatted with the customer service on the app and they said they have not reported it(??) However, it is now on my Experian, Equifax and TransUnion credit report.

I am due to remortgage in the next 6 months, how screwed am I when it comes to getting a decent interest rate? I have no other bad history.

On a side note, is it worth calling customer service instead of chatting and try to negotiate getting it removed?

Vodafone broadband throttling TikTok

Sometimes, Tiktok refuses to work and says that I have no internet connection. Sometimes, it works without any problems.

I have been having this problem for 6 months now. I have tried resetting the router, changing my DNS servers and using encrypted DNS, to no avail.

I am using the Vodafone THG3000 router, and I'm on the 500mbps plan on Openreach.

Plateaued on UCAT progress. Best plan B if my UCAT goes terribly?

Tbh I'm losing hope on doing well in the UCAT. My exam is on the 20th of August and I've started doing practice every day on medify since 4 weeks ago; despite that, I've only really improved on SJT (getting band 1 on mini mocks and averaging 75-80% in timed practice).

  • I'm only getting 50-60% on VR timed practice, mainly because I get lost in the text and forget what I'm trying to find (I'm autistic which doesn't help, and I've been rejected for extra time), and also because I guess a quarter of the questions because of time pressure.
  • I'm getting 55-65% on QR timed practice, I guess a third of the questions because of time pressures.
  • I'm getting 60-70% on DM timed practice but again I end up guessing a quarter of the questions because of timing.

In the past week I've been seriously considering some plan B options. I really want to do dentistry and I have a strong attraction to it, and I wouldn't be satisfied with anything else, but it seems like I have no choice. Or is there hope? Idk.

Option A - studying dental hygiene and therapy

Pros:

  • It's still in the dental field and a very involved and hands-on career (which I like).

Cons:

  • I cannot do more complex procedures as a dental hygienist/therapist, e.g. fitting crowns and root canal treatment.
  • More limited scope than dentistry.

Option B - studying dentistry abroad

Pros:

  • I get to do dentistry.

Cons:

  • I need to fund the degree myself. I or my family don't have a lot of savings.
  • It is harder to get fully registered with the GDC. (I need to do further research on this)

Option C - gap year

Pros:

  • I might be successful and secure a dentistry place at the end of the gap year.
  • I have another shot at the UCAT and I might improve.

Cons:

  • If I don't get in, it will feel like I've wasted a whole gap year.
  • My family are not keen on this option.

Any thoughts?

I am confused by this VR question

https://preview.redd.it/a83skr47se9h1.png?width=1321&format=png&auto=webp&s=7e100dc351260e6001b58963263f9ff26fa6f0ce

It says that "controversy influences performances in music videos" is true because of the Russian duo incorporating controversial elements from the video in their choreography, but I thought the question was talking about the present-day because the statement says the present-tense "influences" instead of past tense "influenced", which is the reason I chose "Can't tell".

Do I need to consider any other past-tense questions as "is it true anywhere in the passage?" rather than "does the passage mention that it is true now?".

Sorry I just find the question format really confusing.

Best cheap doritos alternative?

I am quite addicted to doritos, but the habit is starting to get a little expensive. I tried lidl's own brand one a while ago and it was nasty and thick, which has put me off any own brand snacks since then.

Anyone know any doritos alternatives that are actually decent? Doesn't need to be as good as Doritos, but a similar texture would be nice.

Routes to Iran

What is the best way to get to Iran (specifically Mashhad) right now, as all flights are cancelled?

I know I can cross by land via Turkey but which method is more reliable, bus or train (or any other method)?

A close family member of mine has died, and I must go to Iran for his funeral. I am willing to accept all risks, so respectfully I am not interested in comments saying "Don't go right now, it is not safe".

Thanks.

Anyone else had a weird "Scan and Go" experience?

I got selected for a quality check, and I apparently didn't scan an item, even though that item was the last thing I scanned! Luckily the worker was friendly about it (and it was a loaf of bread), but I could have been in more hot water if it was a not so sympathetic worker or a more expensive item.

I think I'll stick to normal self-checkout.

Has anyone else had a similad issue?

Don't bother coming to Brighton right now if you are coming by car

It is literally impossible to get a space in the marina multi-storey car park. I imagine half of these people aren't even DL customers and are just dumping their car and going to the beach, as the club isnt even that busy.

Why are (most) random teammates embarrassingly bad, even in Crown tier?

  • When they die, they end up spamming "Please recall me" even though I am in a tough situation where it would be too risky to recall.
  • A lot of them embarrassingly don't know how to land diagonally for the fastest landing speed. I have turned off auto-follow mainly because of this.
  • Meanwhile, when I die, they don't recall me even though it is safe to do so, and blind rush other teams and do unnecessary event trials even when it's risky.
  • They blindly hot drop at Midstein or Crabgrass even when they've died already and they would be in a 1v4 situation.
  • Some of them leave before the match has started, which is really frustrating. Luckily pubg mobile has a good system of deducting merit when people leave before the match has started, but the absent teammate should be replaced by another one, like how it works in TDM.

Do i genuinely need a graphing calculator? Any good cheaper options?

I'm in y12, finished all the AS content and I've been completely fine with just an FX991CW, I got an A* in my end of year mocks.

However my teacher really wants me to get one, and insists that I need it.

I've looked on ebay and I see that Casio CG20s are around £40-50. Afaik they do graphing and most of the A level functions, but they are an older model.

I've also looked at CG50 and CG100, but the used price isn't that much cheaper than buying a new one. So I might buy a new one with monthly instalments.

Should I stick to my old calculator, buy a CG20 or buy a new CG100?
