People with no openreach/cityfibre/other altnets FTTP in their area, how do you dodge the price increases?

Do you just do the cancellation dance and risk being left without broadband for a month or locking yourself into an FTTC deal? Or have you managed to somehow wiggle out of the inflated existing customer prices using another method?

If your router allows it, split your SSIDs (or at least try it)

This is particularly useful for smaller homes where range isn't an issue.

When I was using the default settings on my router with merged SSIDs, my speeds were terrible and I was getting nowhere near my 500/70mbps speed, due to most devices simply not being smart enough to choose the best frequency.

For people who don't have a clue:

  • 2.4ghz - Slower, better range.
  • 5ghz - Much faster, shorter range.

I then split my SSIDs into 2.4 and 5ghz, and connected all devices that support 5ghz to the latter. It made a big difference to my internet speed, and I got the full 500/70mbps.

For context I live in a 3 bed new build house, and I get 5 bars everywhere in the home using 5ghz. So your mileage may vary depending on how large your home is. But try it!

Best unis to strategically apply to?

I haven't gotten my predicted grades yet, but based on my current performance I'm predicting that I'll get A*AA in my final A levels. I will assume that I'll get a slightly above average UCAT but nothing too impressive.

Contextual circumstances are that I have an EHCP, small room access arrangement, and I was eligible for free school meals in secondary school. I'm also pretty sure I meet the "living in a deprived area" criteria.

What unis should I apply to? I've looked at Bristol and Plymouth and they seem a good fit (and they both do foundation year as well, which is good if i somehow don't meet the requirements), what other unis should I consider?

Is anyone else facing this issue? I cannot use google wallet either due to device not being certified. It was certified on the previous build ZZD5.

Do you think that Samsung/Google will fix it soon?

Thanks

It was working perfectly in ZZD5, but now it doesn't work and I cannot use google wallet in the newer ZZDP version. Do you think samsung will fix this soon, or should I just backup and go back to stable one ui 8?

I've got my AS pure mock tomorrow. I do edexcel. My teacher has always said that I'll be fine just plugging a quadratic into my calculator, but I've realised (when doing past papers) that some of the markschemes say something like "show method of solving quadratic. simply showing answers is not sufficient".

Am I safer to just write the quadratic formula (with substituted values) to not lose marks, or am I just wasting time?
