RCC Nursing – Language Proficiency Points?
Has anyone gotten the 2 points for language proficiency on the RCC RN/ADN application?
I saw on the multicriteria point sheet that you can get 2 points for proficiency in a language other than English. I speak conversational Spanish and have used it quite a bit at work, including communicating with Spanish-speaking patients when I worked in healthcare, but I wouldn’t consider myself completely fluent.
Does anyone know what RCC considers “proficient” and how you prove it? Is there a test, form, documentation, etc.? If you received the 2 points for Spanish, what did you have to do?
Just trying to figure out if I might qualify before I apply. Thanks! 😊
Is this doable? Needed? I’ll be done with CNA, HHA and the acute care nurse assistant. Then headed into LVN or RN.
I’m sure it would be helpful to take the medical terminology and calculations. Just wanted to get some feedback from those who have taken it or are in the nursing themselves. Thanks! 😊
Laptop, ipad recommendations for nursing school?
I have a 2017 MacBook Pro lmao! 🤣 upgrading next year before nursing school and I have no idea what’s the most practical, useful laptop or an iPad with a keyboard? Help please and thank you! 😊
Trentinon advise: how long before trying to conceive should you discontinue use?
I’m 8 months postpartum, almost about done breast feeding and want to start on trentinoin. But I also want to conceive once I start my period again. So I was going to start the trentinoin when I am fully done with breastfeeding, use the trentinoin, and once I start my period and start trying again discontinue the trentinoin.
And clearly I feel this is pointless or not the right way to do it so that’s why I’m here getting advice and perspective. Thank you!
Returning to college after 13 years - What should I know about the Disability Resource Center (DRC)?
Hi everyone! I’m returning to college after about 13 years, so this is all new to me.
I have ADHD and anxiety and have my first appointment with the Disability Resource Center coming up. I’ve never had accommodations before (I honestly didn’t even know they were an option), so I’m trying to go into the appointment with an open mind.
My goal is to understand everything the DRC may be able to offer—not just testing accommodations. If there are resources, technology, coaching, note-taking support, study strategies, workshops, or anything else that helped you, I’d love to hear about it.
If you’ve worked with your DRC:
What accommodations or services were the most helpful?
Is there anything you wish you had asked about during your first appointment?
Were there any resources you didn’t discover until later?
Since it’s been so long since I’ve been in school, I’m also trying to learn how I learn best and set myself up for success from the beginning.
I’d really appreciate any advice or insight. Thank you!
Looking under the car at 4am. What do you guys think he is doing?
Panoxyl for stinky feet and armpits? Which is best 4% or 10%?
Idk if it’s in my head or if what I heard was true but being postpartum I just feel my armpits get a little stinky and it’s really starting to get to me! :( I heard this helps??
Nursing students who use disability accommodations—was it helpful?
For anyone in CNA, LVN, or RN program who has used accommodations:
What accommodations did you receive?
Did they actually help?
Were there any downsides?
Did it affect clinicals or anything later on?
I’m mainly trying to decide whether it’s worth registering before classes start. Thanks!
Fall nursing students how many points did you have?
I’m curious to see what everyone’s points were to see if I have any chance at all getting in for next year. Thank you!! ☺️
Anyone doing the 8 week CNA program starting fall? :)
Just want to say hi and see if anyone here is signed up?
One night of not nursing on the right side and I believe I have a clogged duct! :(
After one night only and my right breast is so tender! Has anyone else had a clogged duct? I’ve used a heating pad on and off and some ibuprofen and I’m still so sore.
Can you split hours in a day for one recipient?
Can you work 4 hours in the morning clock out and go back a couple hours later to work a couple hours?

Okay mamas how do we feel about teething gels for our babies? Absolutely not? Do we think they help? If so which one do we recommend?
AmLactin and Clobetasol prescribed for my eyebrows
Possible diagnosis of ulerythema ophryogenes. I’m really hoping putting these on my eyebrows will help the inflammation! Who knows about hair growth but if the redness and inflammation will go away I would be so freaking happy! 😞
Pilaris Atrophicans Faciei / Ulerythema Ophryogenes help?!
Any information or help or something optimistic?? Idk yet if this is what I have we’re in the very beginning of trying to figure it out.
