Restaurant health scores

Hey y'all :)

Never knew this site existed - thought you had to see the posted sign in restaurant. One of my fave higher end places had black mold in the ice machine (per the report, when you click on it for more details if you want to know).

Have fun searching up your fave places and be shocked, or relieved. Either way, info is power. Stay safe y'all.

Strange Google maps image

Hi all While looking at a Google maps image from 2008 I see what looks like a portal in the sky. I’ve looked at thousands of Google maps images from all diff years and never seen this before. What could cause this phenomenon?

Thank you!

Best site for creating obituary

Hi all

My relative passed away year 2000 before they did online obits like now and I realized his info is not online anywhere at all!

What is the best way to get his obit posted -- what site is best? should I scan the original obit from newspaper? any other tips?

Thank you in advance!

Virginia creeper - how to stay safe

Hi everyone

I have low hanging limbs that need to be trimmed. Problem is there are many vines of Virginia Creeper growing intertwined in that tree. If someone comes to cut the limbs, some vines will inevitably be cut, breaking open the vines full of oxalates/raphides. Leafs and sap will shed onto ground below where dog and I walk.

I have heard from people who reacted terribly even from a dried/dead vine! What’s the safest way for this task to be done? Trim vines or leave them and spray?

Thank you!

Values of designer

Hi all

Would the value of these earrings be melt only if sold? No value for the diamonds? It’s a vintage designer piece, but very dated design.

Also the necklace has diamonds, would that also be worth gold weight only?

Thanks!

Grass length and tick risk

Hi all!

So the backyard has not been cut for 3 weeks, bf is out of town. I'm in Southern US so it's hot and rained lots recently.

Dog and I don't spend a ton of time in yard but she goes out there to potty, I go pick up and come back inside.

What's our tick risk to wait one more week to mow this lawn when bf is back? Is it a huge difference between now and one week?

Our yard borders forest but it is fully fenced, we do have a lot of chipmunks holes all over yard, that is likely the only wild animal that has been in the yard.

Thank you in advance!

PSA - virginia creeper vine

I recently found out that Virginia creeper can give you a rash just as bad as poison ivy. In trying to rid my yard from it I found a cheap, easy fix and wanted to share to help anyone else dealing with this.

Dawn dish spray. The blue bottle powerwash stuff. MAGIC.

Literally spray this stuff on the plant (on a sunny hot day, if possible -helps it to bake in or activate somehow?) and within hours, but def by the next day, that thing is wilted and dying.

Hope this helps someone!

Edit to add: vine will wither BUT I would still be cautious and not touch it without gloves

How bad is this erosion ?

Hi all Sorry for the low quality pics but how bad is this erosion? Silent reflux for years, I think it's under control now, not 100% but better than years ago. Thank you!

Should I go back to botox?

Hi all!

I got botox every 3 months for 5 years no issues. Then my plastic surgeon stopped injecting, so her NP did my glabella. It was heavy pressure for months so I decided to take a break. It's been almost 2 years now!

My rbf is back and I do not feel good about my look, however, now I am afraid of serious side effects from reading stuff online. I'm trying taping and it helps for a few hours but that's it.

Am I worrying over nothing and could safely go back and just get 10 units in glabella or am I risking my health by trying it again (would be with a derm I used years ago, never a NP again, sorry MD only for me).

Thank you!

Is this safe?

Hi all!! Very new to sprouting here.

Are these broc sprouts safe or not? Yesterday the ones from top tray were good. Went in for a few forkfuls today and noticed a fish tank like smell….then saw all this.

Will I get sick from this? Thanks and peace to you all!

Can I get erosion filled in before hygiene appt?

Do I need a cleaning before filling in some eroded areas and tiny spots where fillings came out (additive only, no drilling and I have no decay, plaque - last cleaning was 10 months ago)

Would I be ok to get these spots fixed now and delay cleaning til August (hygenists first avail)?

Thank you all!

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Hi all!

I'm testing out r-ALA for nerve pain in my feet. I started with 300mg and it seemed to help the pain/tingling in feet, however, 12 hours later I had heart palpitations. And some reflux which lasted into the next day.

I read that it could cause blood sugar to drop so perhaps that's what happened to me? Seems odd it would happen 12 hours later, though. I did take it with a decent sized meal.

I really want to try it again so does anyone have advice for how to best take it to prevent heart palpitations?

I tried 100mg yesterday and had very mild palps and anxiety during night but not like the 300mg.

Thank you all!

Gold bars from EU to US

Hi all

If someone inherits some gold bars in the EU and wants to bring one or two back to the US, what's the best way to do that without issue?

They would be inherited property, there is a Will but not sure if the document lists out that specific item, if it matters.

Thanks!

Lemongrass basil soap

Does anyone know a scent (soap or perfume) that smells like the Kroger lemongrass basil liquid hand soap that was discontinued last year?

The smell reminds me of a happy time and I would even be open to a reputable perfume company that could recreate the scent!

Thanks!

Photos on laptop

Hi all

I had a 2009 Apple laptop, in 2017 it slowed way down and got the blue screen of death. Took it to someone to recover my precious photos (some in photos app and lots in Aperture program) and he instead repaired the laptop to be functional, put in a new HD and new operating system.

I don't care about the laptop at all, I just want my photos! I still have the hard drive he pulled out. Haven't touched it since 2020 when it was pulled out. What are my chances of recovery, especially since a lot are on the now obsolete Aperture program?H

How realistic are my photo recovery and what others do with old Aperture files?

Thank you!!
