When I started doing UGC, the portfolio was probably the part I overcomplicated the most and I kept seeing people with really polished websites, custom domains, crazy Canva designs, all useless effort to start

What helped me was keeping it simple and making sure a brand could understand who I was, what kind of content I made, and see my best work without scrolling forever.

What I’d put in a UGC portfolio

Mine is basically built around a few things:

- Short intro: who you are, what type of UGC you make and the niches you’re comfortable with
- Work samples: probably the most important part. I’d rather have 6 good videos than 20 average ones
- Past brands: if you have them. If you’re new, just leave this out
- Contact info: make it stupidly easy for someone to reach you

For the videos, I’d try to show a little variety too. Talking to camera, product demo, voiceover, lifestyle footage, testimonial style, etc.

You don’t need paid work for every example either. When I was starting, I just made sample videos with products I already had at home.

Keep the portfolio easy to look through

This is probably more important than making it look super professional, so put your strongest work near the top, keep the text short, and make sure everything works properly on mobile.

Canva is completely fine for starting out. Notion works too. A personal site looks nice, but I wouldn’t wait until you have one before pitching.

One thing I’d skip at the beginning

I wouldn’t spend days trying to make the design perfect.

Your videos are what brands are looking at.

The portfolio just needs to present them properly.

- Find brands you actually like
- Check if they’re already posting UGC
- Send a short, personalized DM/email
- Mention 1 content idea for their product
- Add your portfolio
- Follow up after a few days
- Don’t take “no reply” personally!

Simple, but doing this consistently makes a difference.

I'm a uni student and I use Raena mostly to turn lecture notes and PDFs into quizzes and flashcards.

It's decent, but it feels a bit limited for how I study, so I’m searching for an alternative more complete where I can upload or record lectures, get good notes, and then create flashcards and practice quizzes from the same material.

Main thing is that it needs to handle long lectures well and save time during exam season

Any good Raena AI alternatives worth trying?

Edit: Quick update, I tried Turbo AI and this is pretty much what I was looking for. I can put a full lecture in there and then study from the notes, flashcards and quizzes without having to move everything between different apps, appreciate all the suggestions
