I hate being in/from my country

I was born abroad and lived there for years before moving to the place where I originate from. At first things were great but then the people are horrible. Even though by blood im from here, they call me foreigner and tell me to go back to my country because i dont belong with them, all because I was born abroad :(

I get death threats and harassment because I pronounced a word wrong or I said it correctly but not in their way. Like when I vented about not bein able to pass the native language, I called it by the subject name which was written in the schedule given to me. All of a sudden people came at my throat calling me a disgrace and that I'm not from here, I should go back. I cry knowing that people from my own country dont accept me, its been 6+years and its like this every single day. Its hard being told "go back and forget where you come from because you will never be a part of our country". I look at my passport and nationality and its all in this country, I look at it and feel a deep shame and embarrassment to the point I want to rip things up and even blame my parents as to why they didnt make me a citizen in the country I used to be in abroad. I hate it here. Maybe theyre right, I dont belong here, and im not a part of them.

How can I realistically make studying abroad possible for me? And how do I make an actual plan?

Hi po! I’m hoping to get some advice from Filipinos who have studied abroad, are currently studying abroad, or just have experience with scholarships, international universities, and moving abroad.

For context po, I was born and raised abroad and lived outside the Philippines for around 15 years before moving back here. I’m very fluent in English because that’s the language I grew up with, but Filipino has always been my biggest academic struggle.

Ever since I moved here, I’ve noticed that I can do well in pretty much every other subject, but whenever a subject involves a lot of reading and writing in Filipino, I struggle badly. I’ve even tried taking tutoring lessons and really tried to improve, but it still hasn’t worked out well for me.

Because of this, I’ve failed some exams that involved Filipino, and I was also unable to pass the UPCAT because I couldn’t meet the Filipino language requirements. It’s honestly really frustrating because I know I’m capable academically, but I’m being held back by a language that I didn’t grow up being educated in.

Now I’m starting my first year at PUP, taking Entrepreneurship, and I’ve already noticed that I have Filipino-related subjects in my schedule. That worries me a lot because I’m scared that I’ll continue having the same problem throughout university.

At the same time, I’m trying to think about my future. I’m interested in music production, audio engineering, and music in general, and I would really like to eventually study something in that field abroad.

The problem is… I have basically little to no money in my name right now. 😭

I currently work part-time (remotely), and there’s a possibility that my boss may offer me a full-time position. That could obviously help me financially, but there’s another issue: because I’m working, my family expects me to help support the household. I also really want to become financially independent and eventually move out because my home environment is extremely toxic.

So I’m kind of stuck between wanting to help my family, wanting to continue my education, wanting to become independent, and wanting to eventually study abroad.

I don’t want to just randomly make a decision like “I’m going to leave the Philippines” without actually knowing how I’m going to make it happen. I want to make a concrete plan and work toward it properly.

So I wanted to ask people who have actually done this:

If you were in my position right now, what would you do?

How would you make a realistic 2–4 year plan from here?

Most importantly, how do I turn this from “I want to study abroad someday” into an actual step-by-step plan with specific goals, deadlines, and financial targets?

I know this isn't going to be easy and I'm not expecting some magical shortcut. I just genuinely want to know if this is possible from where I'm starting, and if it is, what would you suggest I do first?

Thank you po! Any advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation, would really mean a lot. 🙏

Whats a Baby witch friendly way to rid of such negative people?

Hello! I could use some suggestions from witches who have been practicing for years. I’m a white witch and I’ve been practicing for about a year to a year and a half.

For a long time, I’ve been wondering what kind of spell I could do for my current situation because no matter how much research I do, I can’t seem to find a definitive answer.

There are these women that my mom is always close with, and honestly, they’re not good people. They’re the type who constantly gossip, criticize everything, overshare personal information, and just have a very negative presence. They’ve been like this for years, and because of their influence, I feel like my mom has also started becoming like them. Often oversharing our family personal issues, finances and whatnot. And as an asian witch, the number one rule in basic asian feng shui when it comes to stuff like finances, is to never ever speak of your finances even if youre struggling because it means that youre telling the universe or the deities that you dgaf that youre broke and it'll bring more misfortune.

What kind of spell could I do to get them out of our lives? I absolutely hate their energy. Ever since I started my journey as a witch, I’ve become much more sensitive to people’s energy, and theirs bothers me the most. Whenever they’re around, I literally leave the house because I can’t stand being around them. Their energy feels especially heavy to me.

From what I’ve researched, people usually suggest either banishing or cord-cutting, but I don’t think I’m ready for either of those yet.

What would you suggest? I’d especially appreciate advice from more experienced practitioners who have dealt with similar situations.

Is being a piercer a good side hustle?

Hiii I (21) and an university, am thinking to start a side hustle of being a piercer (licensed in every way ofc). May I ask other piercers or tattoo artists if its a good side hustle to get some money on the side on top of having a fascination for piercing? Because i want to make sure it is worth my time and effort for attending the piercing courses ran by other piercing artists

Never Booking Joyride again.

So I booked a ride through Joyride from Manila to Laguna today. And the total in the app came to about 1587 pesos. When I arrived at Laguna, the driver was demanding I pay him 2k, I told him no because Ill only pay what the app is telling me to pay him. He kept giving me all sorts of reasons to pay him 2k, but I didn't budge, I paid him the exact amount and he left. Im never ever booking joyride again because what the fuck? Joyride, get a hold of your damned drivers.

I think I saw something I shouldnt have seen

So, It happened about 30-40mins ago. I was walking to the nearby store to get some milk for the next day so I wouldnt have to be like "ughh no milk" on a weekend morning. Right now its around 7pm and the way to the store is always this dark grassy, field of rice plantation. And as I reached the end of the rice plantation nearing some bushes, I SWEAR TO GOD FOR A SPLIT SECOND I SAW LIKE A FIGURE, A NAKED FIGURE WITH GLOWING EYES LOOKING AT ME, AND BECAUSE I WAS SO SHOCKED I STOPPED IN MY TRACK,BLINKED MY EYES AND THE FIGURE IS NO LONGER THERE. I quickly bought my milk and now Im at home writing this post. What the FU\*K did I just see???? Im not afraid of it , just in a state of shock.

My best description:

  • Almost like a human but extremely skinny

  • Glowy yellow eyes (first thing I noticed before the body)

  • it was squatting on the bushes as if watching or guarding something.

  • skin was kind of pale

  • had no mouth.

How do I break out?

So my brother and I recently found out that we both got accepted into the same university. It's about two hours away from where we live, and neither of us has a car or a driver's license. We've been looking at the most cost-effective ways to get to and from campus, and after comparing our options, we've realized that renting a two-bedroom apartment near the university actually makes the most financial sense.

We got lucky because a friend of my uncle has an apartment available for rent nearby, and the rent isn't expensive. I already work part-time, and while my brother doesn't have a job yet, he's willing to get one. If we combine our incomes, we'd be able to comfortably cover the rent, utilities, food, and other basic expenses.

The biggest issue isn't the money...it's my mom.

She's always been very controlling about knowing where her kids are 24/7, even though we're already adults in our twenties. When I brought up the idea of my brother and me moving closer to the university, she completely lost it. Instead of discussing it, she immediately started listing every possible reason why we shouldn't move out.

I've noticed this pattern for years. She has this idea of a "perfect family" where everyone stays together under one roof, and whenever we try to become more independent, she makes us feel guilty or tries to convince us that we can't do it without her. It feels less like concern and more like being pushed to stay dependent on her.

I don't want to cut my family off. I just want the chance to build my own life without feeling like every decision has to go through guilt, fear, or emotional pressure. Living closer to the university isn't about running away...it's about making a practical decision that saves time, money, and energy while giving my brother and me the opportunity to become more independent.

At the same time, I can't help but wonder, "What if she's right?" What if moving out ends up being a mistake? That doubt is what keeps making me second-guess myself. But I also know that if I let fear make every decision for me, I'll probably never leave. I don't want to spend my twenties living a life that someone else chose for me just because I'm too afraid to take the first step.

Everyday with my dad is exhausting

I have a dad who needs care, he has dementia, and bowel issues. He always urinates or defecates himself and refuses to wear an adult diaper, this morning I woke up to him having defecated himself and it went all up his back and shoulders and I felt like crying. I am tired I am tired A lot of my life is on pause because of him. Whats supposed to be the best year of my life is full of bull because of him. He doesnt take care of himself, hes a diabetic but he pumps himself full of juices and softdrinks no matter how much I scold him. One time he left the gas stove on without the fire and when I closed it and was scolding him as to how dangerous that is, he approached the stove with a lit cigarette and i genuinely thought I was gonna die that second. He smokes 2 boxes of cigarettes (or even more) in 2-3 hours without a care in the world every single day, he thinks everything is easy because I do it for him. Atp I wish he dies because im tired. I asked my mom to put him in a home several times, so that I could comfortably go to uni and college without having to worry and she would have alot off her shoulder, but she doesnt want to :(

Memories I thought I lost years ago came back to me

TLDR AT THE BOTTOM!!!!!

I recently came across someone I used to know irl on Instagram. Apparently they're doing those street interview videos now and getting some attention in my homecountry.

The second I saw their face, it unlocked a bunch of memories I hadn't thought about in years. I met this person when I was around 13 through a mutual friend, who I'll call Friend A. At first they seemed pretty chill. We talked online, eventually met up in person with the friend group, and I honestly thought they were cooler than I expected. Then about a week after we met, I saw what looked like a memorial post on their Instagram talking about how they had died by suicide and thanking everyone for their condolences and support. I remember messaging the account and saying I was sorry for their loss. I didn't know them that well yet, but obviously I felt bad. Then like a week or two later they came back. I was confused as hell and asked what happened, and they basically told me the whole thing was fake and that they did it to get an ex back. At 13 years old, I knew that was weird but I don't think I fully understood just how fucked up it was. Looking back, that should've been my first clue. Another thing about this person was that they lied constantly, and I don't mean little white lies. They would lie about their age, their name, their race, their ethnicity, where they came from, and pretty much every other detail about themselves. They would tell completely different stories depending on who they were talking to. I'm not talking about acting differently around different groups of people. Everybody does that. I mean it genuinely felt like every person knew a completely different version of them. It was like they were playing a different character for every audience. Sometimes I'd hear stories they'd told other people and be sitting there thinking, "Who the hell are you even talking about?" because it sounded nothing like the person I knew. The next thing that really made me uncomfortable happened when they told me they liked one of my best friends, who I'll call Friend B. Friend B was around 13 or 14 years old, and this person was already an adult. I remember telling them straight up that it was not okay and that they needed to back off. Instead of listening, they started accusing me of being jealous and trying to ruin things for them. After that, things started going downhill fast. They slowly started turning people against me. Friend A ended up taking their side. Other friends started taking their side too. It got to a point where I felt like I was losing my mind because people were either ignoring the red flags or making excuses for them. Honestly, the thing that hurt the most wasn't even them. It was realizing that people I considered my best friends didn't have my back. Eventually I cut off not just this person but pretty much everyone connected to them. I didn't feel like I could trust anybody in that circle anymore, so I basically had to rebuild my social life from the ground up. Years later I'd already built a completely new friend group,I heard another story involving them. Someone connected to my newer social circle showed me messages involving this person and a 16-year-old when they were already in their early twenties. According to the people involved, there was manipulation, blackmail, and behavior they described as grooming. I wasn't directly involved in that situation, so I'm only speaking about what I was shown at the time, but seeing those messages immediately brought back the same feeling I had years earlier when they were showing interest in people much younger than them. That's probably why seeing them online again hit me so hard. It wasn't just seeing some random person from my past. It was seeing someone who, in my experience, spent years lying about who they were, manipulating people, creating drama, and leaving damaged friendships behind them. Maybe they've changed. I honestly don't know. People can change. But seeing them online and watching people praise them for being funny, charming, and likable felt surreal because all I could think about was the version of them that I knew. It's a really weird feeling watching someone build a public image when your memories of them are completely different :((

A part of me is still scared of this person, to the point that even saying their name makes me think theyll come back for me and do horrible things again :(

TLDR: Randomly came across someone I knew when I was 13 who's now getting attention online doing street interview videos. This was the same person who faked their own death to get an ex back, constantly lied about their age, name, race, ethnicity, and basically their entire identity depending on who they were talking to, tried to go after one of my best friends when they were an adult and she was 13-14, turned a bunch of my friends against me when I called them out, and years later was allegedly involved in another situation involving a minor. Seeing them pop up online again was weird as hell because people see this funny, charismatic person, and all I can think about is the horrible and manipulative person I knew growing up.

EDIT: Take this from my experience kids, do not hang out with 18+ people while being a minor. They always have bad intentions no matter how cool they are.

I think i found the root cause of financial issues

Hi. Baby witch here. Im sure I found the root cause of my family's financial misfortune for the past couple of years and now I want to act on it. So, Yesterday my mother was telling me about her youth. And to summarize the story, my mother's former Bestfriend opposed the marriage between my dad and her , all because of pure jealousy since she wanted to marry my dad but my dad loved my mom. Apparently, a week before their wedding, she called my mom and hurled a lot of curses like "your family will suffer" and "your first born son will look like the ugliest god damned frog". And I have a feeling that my family's current misfortune in finances might have been something in relation to her. Its been 20-25 years since that call. What spell could I do, to send back or make her take back what she said so that we can be who we were again (financially that is)

Edit: I forgot to mention this but, the first thing coming to mind is to do a Return to sender spell. But I am worried that im not ready (skill wise) to do that spell yet. Im worried it might backfire because im still learning about spells and hexes, Im also a white witch, and I may be overthinking but I fear this will go against being a White Witch.

Why are musicians like this?

Hi, I'm 20 years old and I've been playing music and performing for a long time. Music has always been one of the biggest sources of peace and happiness in my life.

The problem is that I've never really been able to get involved in the local music scene or build friendships with other musicians. Not because I don't try, but because whenever I reach out or try to connect, I often get treated like a fan rather than a fellow musician.

People are usually friendly at first, but after a while they'll ghost me, become distant, or sometimes even tell me outright that I'm "not on their level." It hurts more than I'd like to admit.

I don't expect anyone to make me famous or give me opportunities. I just want genuine friendships and connections with people who share the same passion for music. Instead, I often end up feeling isolated.

What's especially painful is that the thing I love most...the thing that brings me comfort...is also the place where I feel the most alone.

Fair deal or money spell?

Hello! Newbie witch here :3

Currently my parents are selling a part of their property to one of my relatives, and even though theyve struck a deal which my parents agree with to the point of signing a deal. Right now my relatives are being very greedy and are pushing for more lower price. And to be honest its pissing me off so much that they think they have a power to do that, but currently im not sure what spell to do... Should I do a money spell? Or another kind of spell? Because right now, i dont want the land to be sold for what theyre asking, but the deal was struck that the will be sold to them, so at least I want to sell it for every single penny it is worth. (Let me know if you got other spell suggestions too :3)

Why is it so hard to get birth control for my PCOS?

I am a pcos diagnosed woman, looking to start on progesterone/estrogen to help with my physical development and of course safe sex. I went to the OB for consultation about it, and i even showed her my PCOS diagnosis as more of a reason to start on birth control, and she was kind of slyly shaming me for even suggesting i start it, and was giving me tons of excuses like "oh i dont understand why you want to start on BC because one of the side effects is your voice getting deeper, just lose weight" and in the end, did not give me a prescription, but instead further thyroid testing which is very costly. Like WTF why are doctors shaming for wanting to start BC. Is there any way or I guess a loophole that girls have to get started on BC?

feeling like a loser for living a “boring” life compared to my peers

Met up with an old friend yesterday and ever since then I’ve been feeling kinda weird about myself.

We were catching up and hearing about her life made me realize how different we are. She goes out a lot, parties hard, does drugs, is very into hookup culture, gets invited to parties and social gatherings, gets tattoos and piercings like it’s nothing. Her life just seems very active and eventful.

Meanwhile I’m the complete opposite.

At most I drink, and I’d maybe be willing to try weed, but that’s it. I mostly stay home making grunge music because I’m a musician lol. I don’t really have much of a social circle. Where I live I also feel kinda singled out because of my ethnicity, so I never really got that “friend group” experience or that whole party/social life thing.

Part of why I avoid a lot of that stuff is fear too. My dad used to binge drink a lot when he was younger and now he has Dementia at only 50 years old and needs 24/7 supervision. Seeing that happen made me really scared of becoming like him if I start normalizing heavy drinking/drugs.

The thing is, I do want friends. I want an IRL social circle. I want people to hang out with. But sometimes I feel like because I’m not “wild” enough, people just see me as boring. Like who wants to hang out with the person whose idea of fun is just drinking a little and talking?

It makes me feel like a loser sometimes, even though I know logically there’s nothing wrong with how I live.
