How is Substack suggesting people I know to follow?

Literally just signed up for the first time, and while going through the setup, it asks me if I want to sync my contacts. I declined.

It then moves me to another screen of people I know that I could follow.

How does that even work? I literally declined so that it wouldn't sync up any of my contacts.

I like to keep my online presence separate from my actual life, so I’m confused about how it’s even doing that.

Gong Engage is straight up ass

My company moving from SalesLoft to Gong Engage for “consolidation purposes” will be the end of me.

That’s all.

Edit: and I hope anyone from Gong sees this post.

Is Sailor Moon suitable for a 6 year old girl?

I know asking this in a Sailor Moon sub might include bias, but I think there’s a benefit, as fans will also know the content better than most.

I didn’t watch Sailor Moon growing up (I was team DBZ back in the Toonami days), but I’m trying to be the cool uncle and show my niece animated shows OUTSIDE of Disney.

I still think Sailor Moon is cool; I’m just not sure how young is too young.

Edit: Thank you all for the input and suggestions! I’d like to say I have a somewhat decent gauge on what spooked her out. Her mom is pretty critical about the content she watches, so I’m wondering if holding off until she’s older is the move… 🤔

That said…. My sister (her mom) watched Sailor Moon when she was very young and turned out just fine, so that should count for something haha

Amazing how LinkedIn hasn’t done anything about this dude

Bros been reposting and tagging literal strangers in the comments like a madman.

I checked out the GoFundMe and dude is somehow past $20k

I want to switch to a flip phone, but job relies on SSO for tools

On top of SSO, I often need to be able to access work emails and Slack.

This capability isn’t really possible with a standard flip phone.

I know I’m not the first to encounter this.

What’s everyone’s current workaround?

Outlast: The Jungle (Pharaoh is a hypocrite)

Pharaoh’s reaction to Sarah stealing the machetes was so dumb to me.

She made a smart game move that directly helped her team. They’ll have more resources, more tools, and a better chance at surviving because of her. But instead of giving her credit, Pharaoh starts questioning her character and saying he doesn’t know if he can trust her.

Okay, but then don’t use the machetes??

You can’t benefit from the move while acting morally above it. If it was really that wrong to you, stand on that. But if you’re going to use what she brought back, then admit she made a strategic play that helped the team.

And the funniest part is him saying he’s “ruthlessly competitive.” Clearly not, because Sarah made a ruthless competitive move and suddenly she’s “untrustworthy”

This is a competition for a million dollars. Sarah understood the assignment. Pharaoh just didn’t like that she played the game better than he expected her to.

How do you mentally get over the early stage of growing facial hair?

I know the obvious answer is there’s no secret method lol

I’m just super in my own head.

I’m 31 and for as long as I can remember, I’ve always kept a clean shaven face. The longest I’ve ever gone without shaving is 5-6 days max.

I just felt like facial hair looks weird on me, then again I’ve never allowed it to fully grow out.

I get ambitious, then I cave at day 3.

How is your marketing team working with your company’s SDR team?

So there's an initiative for our marketing team to work closer with our SDR team but we really don't know where to start. We've run initiatives in the past around webinars and we make content but that's really the extent of it. I was just curious if there's anything creative that your team's doing in tandem with your SDR team that's really driving results and generating some pipeline

A stranger made my night after I embarrassed myself

I know this is small, but I’ve been thinking about it.

I was at the grocery store using self-checkout, and the line behind me was backed up with a ton of people. I had just scanned a jar of pasta sauce when I accidentally dropped it. It cracked on the floor, sauce went everywhere, and there was glass all around my feet.

An employee had to go grab something to clean it up, so I was just standing there awkwardly, trying to keep scanning my other items while people stared and walked by looking at the mess. I know it wasn’t that serious, but I was so embarrassed.

The guy at the checkout next to me leaned over and softly asked, “you alright?”

I said yes and thanked him, but honestly, my heart skipped a little. He was physically my type, which didn’t help, but it was mostly just how kind and aware he was in that moment. Feels like a lot of people lack this ability these days.

Then when he finished checking out, he turned to me and said, “Enjoy the rest of your evening.”

And I sort of melted.

Nothing happened after that. I didn’t get his number or anything. It was just a small, sweet interaction with a stranger.

But yeah. I’m just a girl lol.

Anyone else here automating 99% of their work?

I know not every company is the same or has access to the same tools, but my company is very bullish on AI, and I have access to nearly every tool you can imagine. I started at the company about three months ago and I'm right below the top performer.

If you asked me right now what I know about the industry and our personas, I’d say I know no more than a wet noodle. I've built several agents that handle basically everything for me. They manage my inbound and outbound messages, do my research, monitor my emails, and respond to most of my Slack messages. I'm still booking meetings. Anyone else in the same position right now? I feel like I'm floating on water.

Anyone else doing the same or something similar?

Sorry to sound like I’m drinking the Kool-Aid, but I think this is where the SDR function is headed.

Btw: the 1% is me making sure what’s being sent out isn’t garbage. So there still is a human in the loop.

IG really said “you’re gonna use Instants and you’re gonna like it!”

I disable this daily and it still somehow re-enables on its own.

If you’re gonna tailgate me, I’m gonna drive slower. Screw you.

If I’m in a 45 going 55 already and you’re tailgating me, I’m going to slow down to the speed limit or drive slower.

Tired of people’s lack of planning becoming everyone else’s problem. Newsflash, it isn’t. I’m already going 10 over, there are cars in front of me. Unless you’re paying for my speeding ticket, you can fuck off.

People are driving like their wives are in labor. And most of the time, they don’t even need to be at their destination at an exact time. But again, even if that were the case, their lack of planning isn’t my issue.

Before anyone makes the accusation that I’m someone who hogs the left lane on the highway, I don’t…

Motley Crew is the second hardest-hitting song after Rockstar

In terms of Rap Malone, Motely Crew is his second hardest-hitting rap song.

I’m bummed that it didn’t get more listens and I’m convinced it’s because it was released in such a weird time. Smack dab in the middle of Covid….

I’m a firm believer that if it were released any other time it would’ve blown up.
