Why do so many Mercy players not use her gun… like at all?

I’ve been playing this game since beta, and I used to main Mercy. I haven’t played her seriously in a couple of years, but I still have a little over 1,500 hours on her. She’s currently my least favorite healer to play with simply because so many Mercy players have a “do no damage” mentality.

I made it up to high masters with her at my peak, and I would whoop that thang out all the time. See someone low? Try to help get a quick pick. Alone and about to die? Might as well at least try to take someone with me. Flankers keep bullying you? Show them you have teeth and fight back. Enemy hitscan sitting still and shooting your team from the high ground? Send a whole magazine to their head (I used to kill scoped in widows like this all the time).

Whenever I play with/against a Mercy now, they’d rather try to run past you or sit still with their staff out than try to fight back and stay alive. I still float around Diamond and master rank, and 90% of Mercy’s I see end the game with 0 damage and 0 elims.

Just… why? The gun is part of your kit, why would you main/one trick a character and not fully utilize them?

Message to tanks from a healer main: use cover appropriately!

It’s obvious (or should be) that you need to take cover from enemy fire, but what I notice “bad” tanks do not pay attention to, is cover blocking your healers line of sight.

Sooo many times, I will watch my tank die over and over again because they turn a corner too fast, or enter a small room in the middle of a brawl. When you do this; you are forcing your healers to reposition (usually not to a good spot) to try to save you, or you are completely taking away their ability to help you at all.

Bonus points when my tank positions themselves in such a way that they lose line of sight from their own backline, and expose themselves to the entire enemy team. Like passing through a choke and immediately turning the corner, why are you taking cover FROM ME???

You have to think about this game like chess sometimes. Think like this: “I need to jump on the point to contest it. If I jump on the right side of the point, the payload will block the view of my Ana and Lifeweaver, I’ll jump on the left side instead so I keep getting heals while incoming damage gets blocked.”

I float around diamond and masters rank, this is by far the biggest tank problem I see.

Ten years later! This is us now. I took her to a tower in the English countryside and proposed.

Need advice for storing bikes in a high rise.

Recently moved to the biggest city of my life, and into a high rise building for the first time in my life. When we were signing the lease, building management mentioned multiple times that they had complimentary bike storage. When we actually moved in, we realized that the bike storage was a small chain link cage 3 floors down in the underground parking garage that was already completely full with other people’s bikes.

My wife and I each have bikes that are worth a few grand, it looked like all of the bikes in that cage are beat up and much cheaper. We live in a nice area, and getting in and out requires a key fob, so I don’t necessarily worry about theft. I’m not sure if I trust something so expensive in a general public area though, I definitely don’t trust people to respect my belongings.

To anybody who has lived in a high rise, how did you store your bike? I’ve considered just keeping our bikes up in our apartment with us, but I wasn’t sure if that would be weird. Not only do they take up room, but I’m worried of being inconsiderate going up and down the elevators with them.
