What gaming franchise had the biggest fall off?

And I don’t mean where things just happen to be great and then infrequent. I mean it was hailed by audiences, was met with poor reception in later titles and just has not had a good title since.

So I wouldn’t put something like Crash or Sonic on here since while yes, they have struggled after their prime, they had some fantastic releases between those poor titles.

Friend isn’t talking to me now after I made fun of his son for liking Sonic Frontiers

To keep it short, my friend has a kid who loves Sonic. I’m basically an Uncle to him since I’ve been around ever since he was born. My friend isn’t that in to video games so he likes to recap me on games he played whenever I see him.

He’s around 5 and recently he was telling me how he played Frontiers and that it’s one of his favorites.

I laughed at him and told him his taste is garbage. He proceeded to get really upset and told my friend. Now he isn’t talking to me. I think he’s a really shitty father for raising a kid with no passion and ambition.

Am I the asshole guys?

Who’s a youtube creator who you’ve followed long term who hasn’t had a fall off?

Honestly the only one I can think of is Alan Thrall/untamed strength. Yea he doesn’t upload that much anymore but I’ve never seen his content and thought it was bad or churned out for the sake of content.

Also just valuable fitness content due to how many strength sports he participated in.

I swear these leople act like no matter what, Tails and Knuckles are always just bound to break levels in 3D and there’s nothing we can do about it.

Has there ever been a fan game (demos can be included) that properly adapts how Knuckles glide worked in 3K and Mania?

Obviously how Knuckles glide works in 3K/Mania is much different than how it works in 3D mainly due to how the core gameplay changes.

Knuckles glide in 3K/Mania was more about adapting Knuckles being Sonic’s opposite in to gameplay. Where Sonic is all about the building, maintaining, working with and application of the speed you develop, Knuckles has plenty of mechanics that are anti-thetical to that. His glide always starts at low speed, it has no speed cap and you can come to a dead stop.

In 3D, with what I assume was a product of the sharper turning controls as well as floatier physics of Sonic Adventure, Sonic Team realized with that type of control scheme Knuckles glide would just break traditional levels. So they re-worked it to be compatible with something else which became the treasure hunting gameplay.

Most fan projects I played, even if Sonic himself feels pretty close to a proper adaptation to the classic sonic games in 3D, Knuckles glide still feels pretty similar to what it was in every 3D outing he has been playable.

I do think with Israel refusing to go forward with the recent peace plan the plan is just for the U.S to make it look like it tried and that America can’t do anything to stop Israel.

I feel like at this point with even hyper right wing zionists or people just generally very militarily aggressive proposing cuts to Israeli aid they want to give Israel as many loose chains as possible to make the average person think America is losing its ability to pacify Israel.

This logic is often used by liberal zionists saying that if we don’t support Israel then they’ll just run loose. But then they also say we can’t actually apply leverage.

Hasan was right when he said “one phone call could end this tomorrow” and America has numerous methods of leverage outside of aid. I’d personally argue the aid is a spec of dust. Intelligence, arms trade and just the general benefits of a U.S alliance are extreme methods of leverage that the U.S has last been recorded to actually enforced meaningfully was in 1982 with Reagan. (Not saying Reagan is good it’s just a fact in a sea of shit).

This ultimately, takes away accountability from the U.S in how they’ve supported the genocide, the ability to use our support as leverage and gives a good scapegoat to let Israel run loose.

Long rant but yea just wanted to get that out

For those of you who have read them, what are your thoughts on the Abraham Accords?

I often see a lot of people who support Trump hype them up but I feel like a lot of people didn’t actuslly read their details. So for those of you who have what are your thoughts on them?

I will state to my last breath that Sonic 06’s story is garbage and Mephiles is a trash main antagonist. However, the intro to Mephiles? Textbook scene for how to introduce a villain and set the stage.

What was a video game you loved as a kid and you didn’t realize how divisive that game is until you went on the internet

Aight if any of you had a gamecube you already know what it is.

Super Mario Sunshine.

Still love it to this day and will actually call it a good game, but it is one hell of a janky mess I will not lie 😭

What’s an episode from a TV show that really hits for you emotionally?

Coven of the Damned from Primal is something no matter how many times I see it, I always end up shedding a tear.

What’s a legitimately good (not so bad it’s good) scene from an otherwise overall bad movie?

The first one that comes to mind for me is Rocky’s flashback to Mickey from Rocky V. Pretty bad movie but that scene emotionally always hits whenever I see it.

I’ve never really been the biggest fan of this scene being used to say Goku’s a bad father

Now I’m not going to sit here and say Goku is some great father. Plenty of parents that aren’t great ones can still be unconditionally supportive, non-abusive, care about their children or make serious sacrifices for the needs of the children. All of which Goku has done.

Goku was absent for a large portion of his children’s life, he is not a good provider for his family which is why they’re dirt poor and can be really selfish even if not in bad faith.

But I think this scene is a poor example.

Goku ran in to a common dilemma many parents experience. Gohan loves Goku and wants his approval like many children even sometimes doing things they don’t want to.

Goku was unconditionally supportive of Gohan in whatever he wanted to do but missed the forest through the trees and didn’t realize this was a primary motivating factor. He thought Gohan’s issue was his failure to understand his capability rather than his lack of desire to fight.

A lot of people point to Piccolo understanding this while Goku did not, but sometimes your friends know you better than your parents on certain topics. That’s just kind of normal.

I just think this kind of stuff is a normal parenting dilemma. It’s not really indicative of poor parenting.

Maybe it’s because I can personally relate to this. My dad and brothers all were big time football players and I didn’t enjoy it. I felt like I had to but my dad just wanted me to be physically active. Like Gohan, I enjoyed working out and stuff, I just didn’t know where to apply it. Eventually I found strongman and my dad doesn’t really understand it, but he is just as unconditionally supportive of me in it as if I did football.
