I walked up (and down) stairs for the first time since october, while my teen brother was singing Eye of the Tiger behind me till i made it to the top

One more win i can check off my list 💪

Also, my father started walking for the first time in months last week too, which is great.

Taught this to Ariel yesterday :)

I'm very proud of him, he really learned so fast. He also learned how to give kisses today, he just needed to see his brother getting treats by doing so and immediately understood the assignment.

What is the correct way to euthanize a snail

Look, i **really** don't want to do this but it's necessary, how can i make it the fastest and least painful for them?

People feeding the invasive monkeys in my area

I know not everyone has this knowledge but i want to bitch about it.

Stop. Giving. Bananas. To. Invasive. Monkeys.

Yes, they are absurdly cute and i want to take them home and give them a tiny little house and give them all the love in the world. Yes, it is cute when they take things from your hands. Yes, it's cool to interact with nature and we don't have the chance to do that much frequently when living in the middle of the city.

BUT, those little guys are actively destroying the local fauna and flora and have no predators here. Also, by feeding them you are making them mentally connect humans and food, which can cause food aggression since they start seeing us as below them (giving that we are literally giving up the food we worked for and is necessary for our survival, this means they are more important than us, right?

Hi, I'm new! I just wanted to share that i found a book by my local uni on what native species to plant instead of ornamental invasive species

Guys 🫢 i am in love with this, why didn't i ever think about native gardening before‽

I found this sub less than an hour ago and my high autistic brain is stupidly excited. I was researching and i found this 200pg book on what plants to use in place of common ornamental invasive species 🥺 i want to plant all of them. I don't have a lot of space but i live very close to a small native forest and lake so i know for a fact that there is a cool ecosystem nearby and i can't wait to invite nature closer to my home

Please bully me into accepting that i should kill invasive slugs when i see them 🫩

We have a really big problem in my city with invasive African slugs, we are instructed by the government to kill them but my first instinct when thinking about doing it is that that poor guy isn't at fault for humanity introducing it to this habitat. I know killing them is the more ethical and ecological choice, but i have something in my brain that blocks me from killing a random dude just doing it's thing.

Does anyone else have a hard time listening to people while they're eating?

Depending on how much of a flare up i get sometimes i cant even watch videos while i eat because i literally can't understand what they are saying with the sound of me eating.

Idk what the point of this post is, I've never seen anyone talk about this.

I need to stop the head hitting, how?

This is my second time giving myself a concussion and it seems like this is getting worse as time goes by, any ideas on how i can work on this? The most I've been able to implement in my life is having my caregiver physically protect my head with his hands.

Sherlock Holmes is actually not that well written

I am not saying it isn't good, i love reading Sherlock Holmes stories, but he is the ultimate Marie Sue and you can see the plot twist coming from miles away. It is a good read, but it's only this loved as good literature because it's old, it wouldn't have the same response if a modern day writer were to publish it now.

How can i stop my boy from landing on his brother?

I can't believe i have to make this post 🤦‍♂️ i swear Ariel's braincells only work on sunday

This little shit keeps trying to land on top of his brother when he's flying, which Aruan obviously doesn't enjoy and usually ends up getting scared and flying to his safe space.

Any ideas on how to stop this? 🫩 he usually doesn't bother his brother too much but this is annoying even me at this point 😂

My current and past external fixators + scanometry

Hey 👋 i don't really know anything about anything, but I've been getting a lot of x rays those past years and i just think they are really cool, so i wanted to share with anyone who might like it.

1st and 2nd pic are my current external fixator, 3rd pic is the one i just took out last surgery. If you pay attention to the fracture you can see the area of the pie of bone they took out. The three last pics are the two fixators i used in the er for a day back in 2023. Added in my scanometry at the end and the break who started all of this as well.

I hope this is educational or just interesting to someone

Circus tried to make my husband and brother pay VIP prices because their seats arent wheelchair accessible

This has been a couple of weeks now, but i just realized you guys will understand how enraging this is.

Me, my husband and my brother bought circus tickets online, nowhere on the whole site mentioned stairs or any accessibility areas, so we chose to buy the middle price seats, not the cheapest but we didn't buy vip either.

When i come there they say i will be "upgraded" to the vip area for free, and "my brother and husband *just* need to pay the difference" 🤨 i tell them they wouldn't pay and they say they will need to sit in our previous places and i would watch it by myself 🧐 sister, i won't be paying extra because you can't plan ahead.

She said "they can go with me" when i confronted her about it but when we get there the guy says they will have to seat somewhere else... apparently "they will go with you" means "they can push your chair till you get there". Now, i was completely able to pay the difference for them, it was a R$5,00 difference, but i wouldn't let them get away with this, so i refused again and he said "he will go talk to her", in the middle of the performance they come tell us that we would stay there.

🙄 i wish i was joking.

Update: here's my own leg bone!

Can you believe i grew this bone from scratch‽ 😁 i am a very proud parent.

I don't *really* know that well where this came from, it is somewhere between the lower part of my tibia and my ankle joint. It was cut out because it was keeping my leg deformed, since it is all due to a fracture, it's a bit hard to know without looking at an x-ray (which should be ready on tuesday).

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post!

When you’ve been immobile for long enough that you can ignore the constant milder pain, but now you gotta move and feel the stronger scarier pain.
