Blade REWORK idea

i’ve been playing Blade since he first arrived at 3.5.

Blade has never went above C tier even once ever since he arrived, they’re afraid of buffing him too much (but Phoenix is somehow allowed to stay S tier since she launched???) because buff him enough to be valid at high elo and he becomes a low elo stomper. Here's in my opinion the best way to buff (rework) this character.

I wouldn’t touch his already existing kit much aside from:

-Buff his Ult width.

-Decrease bullet spread on his shotgun to allow him to use it from long range instead of mid range.

Now we go to the rework part.

Blade’s issue is his lack of combo potential, making him do low damage with barely any sustainability.

First thing‘s first is his Bloodline Awakening mode. It’s baffling to me that they gave him a stack system without letting him sacrifice gained stacks to do other moves (e.g sacrifice 3 stacks to do a strike that applies bleeding effect. Sacrifice 10 stacks to use the sword of Dracula for a heavy blow with a long cooldown. Sacrifice 5 stacks + a Dash to spin around really fast, gaining a lot of lifesteal and sustain) obviously these moves have cooldowns, we wouldn’t want to repeat the Black Cat tragedy on the another character.

Another cool thing to add is Blade’s famous Glaive, it would add a lot of room for cool combos, maybe they make it a tool for mid-close range.

On paper, a character like Blade sounds really attracting. I’ve seen a lot of people give him a shot and try him out, even Magik players wanted to see what’s up with Blade, so cool another sword character, what happens? They immediately stop playing him due to his sword mode not having enough things to do. I mean quite literally all you do with his sword is press E, Dash, hold W and left click and just aim your camera.

How is this supposed to be entertaining to people who main characters with combo potential like say Rogue, Magik, Spiderman, and White Fox’s melee form (a 7-9 second melee mode has more stuff to do than the permanent melee mode xD)

TL;DR: It’s really difficult to buff baseline numbers for a character like Blade. Instead, increase his skill expression and you hit two birds with 1 stone.

Tomorrow, my brothers, we will rise to immovability. Tomorrow, we will teach Daredevil players that you DON’T MESS WITH THE DAYWALKERS. Tomorrow, we will destroy Thor players using only our swords. Tomorrow, we will mog White Fox’s lifesteal and become the embodiment of INVINCIBILITY. Tomorrow, my brothers… we will achieve true skill expression. BELIEVE, MY BROTHERS! BELIEVE, MY FELLOW DAYWALKERS, for we shall rise to inevitability.

Now I‘m not THE Blade player, but I’m level 24 and have played him since launch, I’ve suffered his dark times (still is, but more manageable now) and I think S7 buffs were in the right direction, here’s my S8 balance changes:

Ancestral Sword (no Bloodline Awakening mode)

-gets a stack system pretty much like the vamp mode and the stacks can carry over to vamp mode.

Ancestral Sword (Bloodline Awakening mode)

-increase lifesteal from 70% to 80%

Daywalker Dash (Sword)

-increase each slice damage from 8 to 12 (maybe 16 like before but feels like it could be too OP with it being paired with an anti-heal)

Hunter‘s Shotgun

-decrease bullet spread

Scarlet Shroud (Sword Block)

-decrease cooldown from 3 to 2 seconds

-increase damage reduction from 40% to 50%

Thousand-Fold Slash (Ultimate)

-applies slow effect on enemies inside it

I know these seem like micro buffs but I honestly don’t want my characters being too OP (its why I stopped playing Moon Knight, you get insanely rewarded for such low effort after his last buff). I’m no expert but feels like these changes would be pretty cool, at least to me.
