looking for honey its not really for me but for my dogs. they have a narrow trachea and was thinking about giving a little bit of honey to sooth their throats whenever they start to have coughs. Heard that local honey was probably better to give them for that. I'd like to try that than give them cerenia all the time. talked with their vet, they said in small amounts is okay. long winded explanation just to ask where to get some honey around here. thank you.

I made a lot of mistakes when I first got into this hobby. I began in 2021 with 9th edition 40k during lockdowns like a lot of others in this subreddit now and I hope newer players find this and learn something from it because I think my experience is what a lot of others have gone through.

• Make sure this game is for you. You are allowed to enjoy the miniatures, the lore, the 40K community and not enjoy the actual tabletop game itself. Warhammer stores have beginner games but sometimes they're not as in depth enough to show if its something you'd like. try and get a full game using your stores loaner armies or if someone wouldn't mind teaching you with their armies. you can find people through your stores discord most should have one. what I have done in the past is ask "hello, I'm a beginner and i'm interested in [enter specific faction] as a potential army. if anyone is available that has two armies to help teach me with this faction I'll buy you a bottle of paint of your choice (within reason) as a thank you for your time" you dont have to do this but its what I did and met some cool people this way.
• You've played a couple games, you love how 40K plays, you're ready for your own army, now what? personally what I would have done differently is buy used. r/Miniswap , Facebook marketplace, and eBay are all solid options to buy a full fledged assembled army or just to buy built units on the cheap (relatively) and get you playing right away. This option also applies to hobby supplies and will also cut the initial start up costs down a bit.
• "But I want the full hobby experience! I want to buy my army brand new." find your budget using the many budgeting resources the internet has to offer and have patience. I got a bit overzealous and bit off more than I could chew when I started, don't let that be you. I'm still working through a pile of shame opportunity from 2021. my recommendation would be to by one box, build and paint that then buy the next. Do that until you can comfortably handle more. Do not exceed more than you can complete in 2-3 weeks.
• Schedule your hobby time. Plan ahead and make it a routine that at [x] time, rain or shine, is when you will build and paint. I need routine so personally I found that having a scheduled time and sticking to it helped a lot more than "I'll get to it whenever."
• Airbrush. Controversial! An airbrush should've been the first thing I bought they just make this hobby life so much easier. theres cheap ones available with small affordable compressors as well. you get what you pay for in some cases but theyre not half bad and fairly easy to learn.
• Hobby space. Much like setting up an aquarium before getting fish, you're going to want to have a small set up somewhere before you decide to start buying miniatures. its a lot easier to have somewhere ready to set up shop rather than using a kitchen table and breaking everything down afterwards.
• What paint should I get? Monument hobbies pro acryl base set is wonderful, start there.
• Avoid the noise! quickest way to being burnt out is engaging with negativity. As wonderful as this community is sometimes the negativity gets too loud. learn to ignore it i.e. get off reddit.
• Painting Tutor. Controversial! and totally optional however, if you have money to spare, sign up with a painting teacher or their painting tutorials on their Patreon. I signed up with a miniature painting instructor recently via zoom and it leveled up my painting Day 1. I wish I had signed up with him sooner it would have saved me from a lot of heartbreak in my mini painting journey. Totally worth it imo. results may vary so do your research.

I dont know how my night shift brothers/sisters feel but I was fucked on sleep and exercise this summer when kids let out. Had to clock in early and just never adjusted. Finally back to my evening schedule, i feel revitalized like superman after being away from the sun except for me its the moon lol. Even weekends felt terrible since my week felt like hot garbage I just bed rotted. We up now though.

Havent been to the pier there since the pre covid days. I remember there was a couple of novelty shops and such. Are the fish restaurants still there? Last I heard they were doing some remodeling or just tearing the whole thing down.

Realized ive taken my body for granted and I'd like to push it to its potential now (whatever that look like at 30). ive been semi sedentary/ semi fit for most of my life. Never had abs but looked decently in shape and just skated on by with that. Metabolism isnt the same as it was I'm holding more fat now burning it off less than before. just looking for motivation from you guys, Has anyone gotten stronger and faster since your 20s?

My end goal is to be a firefighter paramedic but im already 30 years old and not in the greatest shape but I won't give up. I know i would like to work in the medical field and help people and just trying to cover my "bet" if you will. If I were to go through a nursing program could I also apply as a paramedic/firefighter? Thank you.

I would like to be a "refuse truck operator" eventually and would like to know what jobs to start with before i can do that or who to talk to? Tried applying online but no luck. Thank you.

Vote with your hobby dollars! We dont have to buy into the new edition and that will tell GW we want more of the same from the current ruleset. Is it perfect? No... but do we love it? Yes its the best game GW makes.

I posted a couple days ago I called the city because I nearly hit a pedestrian on Court an Huntington. Well, they put some big ass neon signs in the area and in the crosswalk ahead of it. Would still like a light up crosswalk but its a step in the right direction!

Im an older guy at 30 years old so im trying not fuck up my voice by just winging it watching YouTube videos. Im also in no way trying to make it a profession but singing has always been an area of interest and I would like to learn how.
