Unreleased Planescape comic Unity of Rings

I compiled the loose images from the completed-but-unreleased Planescape comic Unity of Rings into a PDF and hosted it in the link in this post. It's 28 color pages. The images were slow to access on the archive page of the 20 year old WotC site that hosted them, so this way they're easier to read and save. You'll just have to rotate 90 degrees after opening the PDF.

EDIT: Here's a different hosting service that should work, I hope: https://files.catbox.moe/mp7gg6.pdf

This must be a reference to Moon Knight, right? From Advanced Dungeons & Dragons comic #21 (August 1990) on DC comics.

Here's something fascinating I stumbled across - a lost Planescape comic

From the Forgotten Realms wiki:

"Planescape: The Unity of Rings is a comic which should have been part of a limited-edition series published by TSR, Inc. For an unspecified reason, the comic issue was not released in 1996, despite TSR's advertisement. According to statements made by Wizards of the Coast on a since-removed webpage, the original pages were lost and later rediscovered during an office relocation. Deeming the story complete, WotC published scans of the comic in their online archives on November 13, 2003. The comic had no cover."

Some of you may already know about this, but here's a link for those that don't

Allentown toy show this weekend at the Schnecksville Fire Hall

I will be in the area this weekend so I was thinking about stopping by with my kids. Has anyone been to this show before in the past? Is it just vintage stuff?

There’s a lot going on here. Who should win in a fight between a team composed of a beholder, a drow warrior, and a mind flayer on one side, and a genie on the other? From the comic Advanced Dungeons & Dragons #12 (1989)

Dark Muse News: Sword & Sorcery Chain Story (#24-#28)

"n August 2025, we hailed the emergence of a second Chain Story project championed by Michael A. Stackpole. This is a Sword & Sorcery-focused, contagious set of connected (“chained”) stories.

Each is:

  • A standalone tale
  • Readable in any order
  • Free to read! (for at least three months from its posting date)
  • Interconnected via a theme involving a Crown"

Great news! Francesca Baerald’s gorgeous map of Faerun it’s finally available for sale. I guess she finally got the permissions that allowed her to do so because you couldn’t buy it in the past.

Here's something fascinating I learned about the mid/late 70s DC comics series Claw the Unconquerable

Claw the Unconquered was DC's answer to Marvel's Conan comics in the 1970s, and ran for 12 issues. I finished the series today, and is worth collecting if you're into comics. It's not too terribly expensive if you collect S&S comics - I paid $50.

Anyway, issue 12 ends on a pretty crazy note, and the letters page talks about issue #13. But there is no issue #13! Apparently, it (and a lot of other DC series) were cut at the time. The thing is, apparently issues #13 and #14 were written, drawn, inked, and lettered, but never officially released.

To maintain copyright of the work, DC literally made a photocopy collection called Canceled Comics Cavalcade, including the Claw series issues #13 and #14. They only made about 35 copies apparently, and only distributed it internally.

Anyway, the scans are up on the internet if you're interested in seeing some obscure, almost lost S&S comics from the 1970s. Here's a link for each issue:

edit: oops I put Unconquerable not Unconquered in the title - can't fix it.
