1991 Sony Watchman FDL-K400

Initially the display was unwatchable, but it got progressively better over the course of about half an hour to the point that it's watchable. It's sort of like watching a worn out SLP VHS tape recorded from a broadcast recieved by rabbit ears. I've got it hooked up to a digital media player over composite. I think it needs a recap, but I'm not skilled enough to do that, so hopefully I can find someone to give it some TLC.

Need help finding power supply for old portable LCD TV

I just got a Sony Watchman FDL-K400. It's a US model, and I'm in the UK. The video system difference isn't an issue to me, but the power supply is. I'd hoped it was going to be a multi-voltage unit, as the seller had a video of the TV in use, but it's not. I really don't want to screw around with step-down transformers and sine wave convertors, so can somebody here tell me if there's a UK or european equivalent power supply I can buy to use instead? Or should I just buy a third party battery and charger instead?

Would it be possible to generate an unabridged version of an audiobook?

So I have a bunch of audiobooks that I've had since I was a kid, they're great but unfortunately abridged. Would it be possible for me to feed an AI tool recordings of the audiobooks, along with the complete texts of the unabridged books, and have it generate a coherent recording in the original narrator's voice? The audiobooks include music and sound effects, so I imagine that would make the process more difficult.

Vintage EU audiobooks are being uploaded to YouTube!

A wonderful guy going by the name of "Bunt's Books" seems to have started an audiobook project where he's uploading many old EU audiobooks (among other franchises) to YouTube. At least some of them are unabridged National Library Service audiobooks originally recorded for their BARD service, so they predate the official abridged Star Wars audiobooks.

Has anyone been to one of Dawn's shows?

I'm thinking about going to one of her shows this year, and I wanted to bring my mother (who is almost 70) with me who is a big Drag Race fan. Trouble is, I've never been to a drag show before, so I don't know what to expect. I'm not expecting it to be family friendly or anything, she can handle smut no problem and has been watching drag acts on TV for decades, I just want an idea of what might be in store for us and if I should reconsider or not.

I'm looking for a retro-style controller for my PC, something like what 8BitDo is doing but nowadays they only sell modern controllers (i.e. with analogue sticks and triggers) in a contemporary style. I have an old SF30 Pro from them, but it it seems they discontinued it and everything else that looks like a retro controller but has modern features. Ideally I'd want something like the M30, and while they have a "modern" Xbox version with triggers, it unfortunately lacks analogue sticks.

Any ideas? Budget would be £100 maximum, country is UK, platform is Steam on Windows, I play a variety of games. I don't mind if it's wired or wireless, but wired would be my preference.

▲ 13 r/latin

Was having a conversation with somebody, and couldn't remember for the life of me the appropriate term for this. For example, in the sci-fi video game and book series Sword of the Stars, the unofficial motto of humanity is "repensum est canicula", which as far as I know is gramamtically incorrect and would not be intelligible by a Roman. I know there's a proper term for this incorrect usage of latin in the modern world, but it eludes me. Can somebody help out?

I've tried through Google, but I've had no luck. I know PDF versions exist, or at least used to, because there was some russian guy on YouTube who made a video about the same model of turntable and he had a printed copy of the manual in the video. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm planning on changing my phone to an Android device, so I will no longer have a method for confirming 2FA requests. I use my Apple TV device every day, and when I try to buy something or in the future when I upgrade and need to log in it will want me to confirm it with 2FA. Can I change something on my account so that I don't have to have a physical Apple device to get the code from? Maybe through SMS, email, or on the Apple website?

There's two versions of the song from different singers on YouTube, and I'm struggling to pin it on either one because they both sound so similar.

This site has a really good set-up where they offer alternatives to a particular stylus. You search for a particular record player or cartridge, and the page will show you every stylus they sell that's compatible with it. The table will have company logos of the manufacturer, whether it's OEM or aftermarket, generic or branded, etc. I've come across it a bunch of times in my searches for styli, but I never remember to bookmark it.

All but one are from the Everyman Library, and date to the 1910s or 1920s. The odd one out is a Penguin Classics first edition from 1951.

Every time I search from the address bar, I get a sponsored result. How do I turn this off? I've unchecked every box I can find relating to sponsored content.
