Putting the SM7dB pop filter on my MV7+ completely transformed the mic!

Before I decided to buy the MV7+, I was watching review videos and in one of them the reviewer briefly mentioned that it's worth buying the SM7dB pop filter and putting it on the MV7+. So when I bought the mic I also ordered the filter, just to try. I used to the mic with the standard filter for a few days, and yesterday the SM7dB filter arrived.

I don't know much about microphones and I don't know why it is the case, but my MV7+ sounds way better now. It went from sounding like a really nice microphone to a REALLY nice microphone. It's not just stronger elimination of the plosives, the clarity as a whole just feels boosted or something.

Just thought I'd share so anyone who isn't familiar with this little accessory can give it a try if they want. I really wasn't expecting much, but yeah, it's great and only costed 13 dollars on Shure’s official Amazon page.

I absolutely despise hearing my voice on recordings

I’m 24, and I have been singing lately just for hobby, but when I record myself, I absolutely hate it.

I’ve been told before that I can sing, and while I’m definitely not a pro, I can hear in my recordings that I do have the ability to. However my actual voice always sounds awful, like the pitch and tone. Idk how to describe it.

I have a very deep voice, and I’ve been told that since I was like 19. I think the combination of being tall and a former heavy smoker has left me sounding like that. And I really like how I sound when I talk actually.

However, in recordings I cringe so bad. I sound nasally, higher pitched, and not like me at all. Any advice?
