SALEX is a shoreline expressway and skyway in one--40.65 kilometers long. For comparison, the dreaded Pasig River Expressway is 19.37 kilometers. Both projects are from San Miguel Corporation.
Many are surprised upon seeing big trees cut down along Quirino Avenue, most especially those who are living within the neighborhood. It is a great question as to why the immediate stakeholders aren't fully informed about this horrific destruction and expressway project.
This project was officially approved three days before the end of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's term: June 27, 2022 as per Toll Regulatory Board. The only recent information provided in their website since March 10, 2023 is that it had ongoing application to DENR's Environmental Compliance Certificate, yet no further updates since, giving no transparency to the Filipino public.
Dear government, we need answers.
