Hi, I had my first tonsil stone today. I coughed up some phlegm and the stone just flew out of my mouth. I took a whiff and did some googling and signs point to yes, it's a tonsil stone.
It's now like 9-10 hours later and my mouth tastes gross, like how the stone smelled. is this normal? any suggestions?
I've always wondered this - if I'm doing a karaoke song, is it harmful to use a blaccent? For example, I have done karaoke to Nicki Minaj songs in the past, and some of her rap verses and interjections (yeah, uh, hey, etc) sound bad without it.
Specifically asking as it pertains to rap songs by black people! Any rap sounds dumb coming from my heavy midwestern accent, so I try to match the style of speaking in any rap. I just want to be more conscious of what's acceptable or problematic!
Edit - typo
Edit 2 - I think I unconsciously do this with most music. I try to match the tone and style when singing along, but karaoke is the only instance where I'd be singing/rapping alone and in front of people. Is it a blaccent if it's mimicking the specific artist rather than a dialect?
hi all, delete if not allowed. I have POTS, hypermobility spectrum disorder (maybe hEDS, waiting to see a specialist), and IBS, among other issues. I'm not diagnosed w MCAS but have had multiple providers tell me it's very likely I have it.
The last 2 ish weeks I have been so insanely itchy and getting random hives and then the hives go away. The itchy areas don't always have hives. I went to the doctor and they suggested Sarna lotion and starting an allergy med. I have hydroxyzine for anxiety, but it makes me so drowsy that even though I was told I could take it daily, I don't want to.
ETA - I was suggested Allegra or Zyrtec, but I need to pick some up. My scalp/neck, hands, and feet are the worst, but random spots flare up too.
No new hair or skin products, no new detergent or clothes, nothing changed about my routine, that would make me worry it was being caused by that. I have seasonal allergies, but have never reacted like this before. I also washed my sheets, vacuumed, cleaned, and that didn't help anything either.
I'm feeling nauseous and gassy and having soft bms tonight. I'm usually pretty constipated, so this is making me a little nervous. I ate like shit today - a s'mores frappe, mac n cheese, and cheesecake. i know it's likely related to all the dairy and rich foods. I took a zofran around 3 hours ago and because it didn't help much I'm assuming it's just gas and ibs.
I have a phone call job interview tmw, so I'm extra worried. Like when i have anything going on my brain puts more pressure on me to not be sick? if that makes sense. it's so frustrating. i just want to sleep and relax and not feel so shitty
I'm at work rn and feeling like SHIT. Dizzy, white spots in my vision and then going black, vertigo, super wobbly, etc.
It feels even worse than usual emotionally because I was doing REALLY well for a while (a week and a half). I was on vacation for a week, and kinda forgot that once I get back to "real life" I feel like shit again. I was eating two pedialyte popsicles a day, drinking an LMNT a day, drinking about 60 oz of plain water, and eating well while on vacation.
Even though yes it was vacation, I still had to go up 4 flights of stairs to get from the lake to my bed and do other things that usually make me feel rough.
just super frustrating and makes me want to cry. anyone else?
Why do I have to be from bum fuck nowhere in the Midwest 😭😭😭😭😭😭 How does it feel to know you're all better than the rest of us?
(I am purely jealous, but I am so happy for all of you that get to go and enjoy the special shows there♥️)
Hi! looking for hair salons or hair stylist that do more alternative cuts! I like the look of baby bangs, pixie/bixie, and modern mullets, but the places near me don't do them enough for me to feel good about the results
If you have any recs for north of MKE, or Menomonee Falls area or Tosa, that's preferable! Thank u!
do artists have merch for sale at their after shows? is it artist specific? I'm going to CMAT
It's so ungodly hot this is miserable and horrific. I struggle to drink enough water on a good day, but this is absolutely brutal.
Time for my 6 shifts in a row at a fireworks store😭 at least it's air conditioned.
how do yall manage your brain when you hear that someone you don't know is sick? i'm listening to a podcast and the hosts were talking about their kids being sick and my phobia brain goes "it's a sign, i'm going to be sick".
i'm probably more stressed than usual because i ate two chips without washing my hands and then went thrifting yesterday and didn't shower after or clean my phone. today i ate a food that makes me nervous. (trying to work on safety behaviors)

this might be a dumb question, but I keep seeing antler tattoos with Ethel lyrics. Where do the antlers come from? Is there a specific song that's associated with them?
Do yall have to poop after being in the heat/sun? If so, do you know why?
(I do have IBS, so that could be related)
Just a question for you all. Do you struggle with fears about eating cuisines that are not big in your culture or foods you didn't eat often?
Like, I love love love Mexican and Chinese food, but I get more scared about food poisoning when I eat either of those. I have no reason to be, I've never gotten sick from one. The places I go to are clean looking and well kept.
I didn't eat either much while I was growing up, so that probably adds into it. But I really didn't feel this way until my relapse in 2024!
I always feel so guilty that I feel this way. When I went on a vacation in Europe I felt the same way trying new foods/cuisines
have any of you had success losing weight? as of right now I'm unable to do most exercise without awful flare ups. I suspect maybe it's post exertion so malaise in addition to POTS flareups. I walk a little and do some floor stuff (looking for more tho!) and occasionally recumbent bike.
I eat a lot of fast food and junk food for salt. veggies and fruits frequently make my stomach issues flare up, and i'm super picky. I eat a lot of beige foods - potatoes, pasta, grilled cheese, bread, etc.
if you've had success losing weight please share any tips!
I had my initial outbreak in March of 2023. I got herpes following a traumatic encounter, so I kind of compartmentalized the outbreak.
I've been having some kinda sensitive feelings around the opening of my vagina, towards my butthole. I was peeing and it stung there when pee touched it, which is what happened the first time. I took a pic to look and it looks like a blister.
I've had my valcyclovir for 2 ish years now. Does it go bad? any bad side effects from it? if it happened to not be an outbreak, would it just not do anything? I'm going to message my provider, but since it's a weekend, I doubt I'll get a response until Monday.
Also, if anyone has POTS, HSD/hEDS, or an autoimmune condition, do outbreaks worsen your symptoms?
Thank u for any information you have
I know many doctors are not informed about ME, but if I wanted to try to get a diagnosis, what type of medical professional would you recommend mentioning it to? I see my neurologist and rheumatologist in July, and then my PCP in September. Thanks
I have POTS (among other things) and was just told it's due to that. Do yall know the specifics of why you have migraines? Either the science behind it or if it's attributed to a condition you have? Just curious!
ETA - sorry totally slipped my mind that some people have primary migraines!!
I don't know if there's a way to tell if the voice is ai, if the research is, if the whole podcast is, etc. I don't know how any human has the time to research and speak and edit and post daily. Thank you!
ETA - if it is, any recs for something similar that's not ai?
