a short story about my dog

during the pandemic we used to live in the province with my extended family there as well, and we had 5 pet dogs (2 adults, 3 puppies) and my family was totally fine with it.

after the pandemic, we had to move back to the city and i was left with only one puppy who i took care of for 3 weeks not until my mom got pissed and sent him back to the province 🥲

that was a very emotional night for me and my puppy because the night before we sent him back, i was petting him endlessly and reassuring him with sweet words, even my puppy was crying 😭😭

i just randomly miss my puppy now. i hope to get a dog when i get my own place! :)

OA lang ba ako for telling my ex this?

For context, I have an ex during my grade 9 to early grade 11 days that lasted for 2 years. We had no contact for a year, and recently we reunited and talked for a few months, and now admitted that we still love each other.

The thing is, he told me he's ready to commit again, but I told him I don't think I can yet.

It's not because I don't love him or because I'm talking to someone else. My life is just about to change a lot. I'm in college, I'm trying to build a career, and I'm honestly still figuring out what my future looks like. I don't want to get into a relationship if I can't give it the time, effort, and consistency it deserves.

I explained that to him, and he said he's willing to wait.

Now I'm conflicted.

Part of me feels relieved because I do see a future with him once I become more settled. Another part of me feels guilty because I don't know how long "settled" will take. I don't want to accidentally keep someone waiting forever, but I also don't want to say yes just because I'm scared of losing him.

For people who've been in similar situations:

- Was waiting the right decision?

- Did you regret choosing school/career first?

- Is it realistic to balance a relationship during college and work?

- If you were in his position, would you wait?

I'd appreciate honest opinions from both sides.
