StubHub and Fraud?

My wife and I are having two different fraud (?) problems with StubHub and they could not care less

A seller sold me tickets for non-existent seats at LA’s Greek Theater. SH says I have to wait until two hours before the show before they will do anything even though SH admits the seats do not exist. They say they will give me other seats but I don’t trust SH. They also say I can resell them (!?) which is both unethical and not possible since I don’t have the tickets. At first SH told me the seats were ADA seats and that they’d be great seat as a result. I would no sooner take those seats than park in a handicapped parking spot. Later they walked back this evaluation and agreed the seat numbers didn’t exist (confirmed with The Greek). SH refuses to contact the seller.

My wife bought tickets for a Hollywood Bowl show and the seller suddenly changed the delivery from mobile tickets (required by the Bowl) to screenshots (specifically not accepted by the Bowl). SH says she had to take the screenshots to the show and get rejected at the gate before they will do anything. SH also admits that they know the Bowl doesn’t accept screenshots. They say it will take three days to contact the seller but the show is Saturday.

I am not convinced either seller actually has the tickets. And from what I’ve read I’m not convinced SH will give me tickets that are of comparable value.

Anyone have positive experiences in these kinds of situations?

Huge thanks Section 108

Huge thanks to the four guys next to us in section 108 who caught a ball and immediately handed it to my 8 year old. Aside from the walkoff tonight the kindness of giving him the ball created a core memory! Especially for his first ever baseball game.

Giants fans are the best. THANK YOU whoever you are! All the way home he kept saying it was the best day of his life.

Also thanks to the A’s fans behind us who kept us all entertained. Hilarious.

Alarm?

I have a 2023 Transit and i’m trying to figure out if it has an alarm system. Does anyone know if these came with an alarm that would go off if someone broke into the van?

Typical Parking in Glendale, CA

Head in parking is not for this guy! And he’ll make this garage a one lane road and you’ll like it.

A bit more of the CA Coast road trip

Big Sur, Calistoga, Bodega Bay (treehouse). A mix of van/motel/cabin/treehouse stays.

Got a lot of complements on the crazy van colors.

Alleged Damage on Return (Vancouver)

Advice please or experience from others?

My wife rented a car at the Vancouver airport in January. Her videos and pictures captured nothing at checkout but she didn’t take photos at road level for the lower bumper.

At check in the person says there were light (their check box) scratches on the bumper. The VIR shows the person first recorded the “damage” on the rear bumper. They then scratched this out and noted it was the front bumper.

Now they’re asking for about CA$750 to replace the bumper and the front grille which by itself seems extreme for “light” damage. Plus costs for lost revenue.

We have disputed this at the time of return and in ongoing emails and letters with Hertz. Importantly (?) there are no photographs that Hertz can present despite us asking repeatedly for them. I do not think they exist.

I don’t want to pay this on principal alone because they’re full of it. But have others succeeded in fighting these charges?

We live in California.

San Simeon - Day 2

So far so good! Forgot pillows which made me very popular with the family.

Bought bug zapper tennis rackets today and an electric water kettle so I can have my coffee in the morning without firing up the camping stove.

Trip Advice?

About to head up the California coast for a week with the family. Any advice from folks who made their first longer trip in their van?

Have had all the usual maintenance done (tires, alignment, oil, transmission fluid, differentials).

Thanks! Will send pics along the way!

Construction Back!

I was surprised to see this project back underway today on Colorado! I’d be worried about how long it all sat exposed but I’d expect it was inspected first….

Advice: Replace Gen2 Cable or Upgrade?

I have a Gen2 Actuated dish mounted on my roof with the Starlink pipe mount (re-used an old HDTV pole). There is a 50’ cable run to my basement where the router lives. Inside the house are two nodes to extend the network.

The problem: my cable has gone bad. I can get someone to replace it but the installer is suggesting I call (!) Starlink and ask about upgrades to the latest hardware. I hate being on the roof or I’d do it myself.

I’m disinclined to do this given the two nodes and mounting hardware I already have.

Advice?

Account Suspended- insulting NextDoor

My account was suspended after i posted something negative about ND. A guy had said, “why are all posts on ND so ignorant?” And I made a joke saying “ND is internet slang for “ignorant posts” and I got suspended. 🙄

AITAH: Wife Eats Grapes Before Paying; Pissed I Called It Out In Front of Kids

My wife does most of the grocery shopping. She also loves grapes. She often eats them from the bag before paying for them (they are charged by the pound)

Tonight my older son got back into the car from shopping with her and said, “mom ate some grapes then put them back and bought a different bag.”

To which I say (in front of older son and younger one.8), “what the heck that’s stealing please don’t do that.” Also: you put them back? (She says they were rotten)

She got very defensive and we argued (in front of the kids) with me saying it is shoplifting and stealing. She says the store sells her food that goes bad sometimes and that we spend a lot of money there. And that it’s not a lot of money difference in weight after she eats some.

I fully realize she’s not stealing expensive things but now I am the asshole here because I discussed it in front of the kids and said she was stealing. I don’t think it’s worth getting caught, especially with the kids in tow. Also: setting a bad example.

She’s a great mom I feel compelled to say. Also note it’s mother’s day weekend….

But AITAH?
