Would reading a book while listening to the audiobook version be an effective immersion method?

Basically i want to speed up my reading and (specially) improve my listening skills, i have the same book both in ebook and audiobook form.

Would this be effective? what do yall think?

What if instead of getting Nisemonogatari, Bake got the usual 2000s anime adaptation treatment and the following season was fully anime original and ended the story then and there

my personal guess is they would've either repurposed an existing character or introduced a brand new one, followed by a magical "power of friendship" ending

Thanks to NBA 2k27 (2026) accidentally leaking the new DLSS 5, we can now finally see what our favourite characters would look like if they were chainsmokers or instagram models

"If that is change, I want none of it. And if this is what these people say when they are “heard”, then I want them to stay unheard." - r/Neoliberal discusses the changing dynamics inside the US Democratic Party

(Source) I am highly alarmed that the center of gravity in the Democratic party seems to be moving from Black churches to White campus activists.

Wisconsin checking in: if only you knew how bad things really are. (+194)

>Wisconsin has to have Scott Walker 2.0 because they nominated female DSA Trump. (+117)

She has problems, but to compare her to Trump is insane. (+64)

>This is a 2 minutes of Hate against DSA thread. You’re not supposed to question the hyperbolic characterizations of whatever current Emmanuel Goldstein the thread is attacking. (+55)

The smug contrarianism here does get overwhelming at times. A post on some other hot topic so thin on sourcing beyond spicy speculations would likely be flagged for removal. But a dunk on lefty undergrads with the feeblest pseudo-overture to racial justice (not really helping with the "fake corporate HR pseudo-progressive" image that neoliberalism has, a la We Were Never Woke) gets to stay up. (+13)

You people are genuinely insane..... We've seen the Democratic Party be completely unable to stop the rise of MAGA, and you just want to run it back. (+12)

I completely reject your premise. I completely reject your idea that in order to embrace “change” we need to tolerate antisemitic dog whistles and hounding, abolish prisons, abolish borders, cancel thanksgiving, tankies, Kremlin propagandists, Maoists cosplayers, Hamas apologists, video game streamers who shock their dogs and say Hezbollah is based. If that is change, I want none of it. And if this is what these people say when they are “heard”, then I want them to stay unheard. (-12)

>Way to completely straw man me. I never said to embrace any of that crap. I said the party is afraid of change in a chronic fashion and is now shocked that there are movements out of their control because they made a conscious choice to ignore what was happening all around them while bad actors took those movements over and turned them into what they are. This is actually one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever read. “antisemitic dog whistles and hounding, abolish prisons, abolish borders, cancel thanksgiving, tankies, Kremlin propagandists, Maoists cosplayers, Hamas apologists, video game streamers who shock their dogs and say Hezbollah is based.” It might as well have been ripped straight from a rag like the New York fucking Post or even Breitbart. Compose yourself. (+17)

Two awards and 130+ upvotes for a crackpot comment on the “need” to totally tear up our system of government. This sub has finally become r/politics. I believe there is already a refugee subreddit. (+1)

DSA people will have to get BTFO'd in an election cycle in purple states. It's unfortunate we're going to lose Michigan and Wisconsin this November though because the candidates are so bad. (+50)

This claim seems to imply black people are just naturally immune to populism. (+1)

How are establishment Democrats completely oblivious to the fact that the DSA is the exact same strain of cancer to their party that MAGA was to the Republicans? Instead of excising it early, they are sitting back and watching it metastasize. The Democratic Party needs to establish a firm party constitution anchored in foundational liberal principles: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, property rights, and by extension, free-market capitalism. Any candidate whose platform explicitly violates these basic tenets should be barred from running under the Democratic ticket. If democratic socialists want to run on illiberal, central-planning platforms, let them build their own national party or run as independents instead of hijacking the Democratic party. I refuse to accept a future where the only two choices on the ballot are right-wing authoritarianism and left-wing authoritarianism. (-5)

Dems lost because for some reason they chose to ignore young men. They swung insanely for trump. They couldn't choose one issue that affected men? Why did democrats had to be aligned with people who screamed "toxic masculinity", "who set the system up", "not all men, but always a man", etc. Replace men with "black" and you'll see how bad these phrases can be for men and alienate them. Why was Kamala going on Alex Cooper and not Joe Rogan. Why was "Brat summer" part of the campaign. Like yeah, no shit men are going to listen to Hasan, Joe Rogan, Nick Fuentes, "looksmaxxer podcasters", etc when this is the alternative Reminder that Clinton won young men by 10-15 points as did Biden. Young men made a 15-20 point swing with Kamala. (+3)

>Kamala didn't go on Joe Rogan for the same reason she never went on Sean Hannity or Tucker. There is nothing for her or the audience to gain entertaining right wing conspiracies. It was the correct call. Dems lost not because she didn't go on Rogan, but because 2024 was a difficult year for incumbent parties everywhere in the world. Kamala did very well given the circumstances, and she limited downballot losses to a minimum (she kept nearly all swing state senate seats in Dem hands). Instead of villainizing or shunning her, Dems should in fact show her gratitude that the senate control this year is even remotely competitive. (-4)

No, you don’t get it, we need to keep nominating DSA, screw minorities, moderates, suburbans and non Gen Z people, we need to chase champagne socialists who hate us. (+1)

>Have the minorities, moderates, suburbans, and non-Gen Z people considered voting in the primary? (+6)

The far left sabotaged us in 2024, and I will never forgive them. (-4)

Persona 3 reload: any way to get the Hypervisor version to work with the Reloaded II Mod Loader?

Title says it all. I'm wondering if you can use mods with the hypervisor crack version.

The mod loader doesn't work when set to run the hypervisor launcher instead of the game's EXE (which obviously can't be launched from directly)

Haven't tested the old demo bypass cracked version.

New York imposes a moratorium on data centers, r/Neoliberal has a mixed reaction.

(Source) New York becomes the first state to impose a data center moratorium

Blue state de-growth mentality continues (+119)

>The Luddites have won the war on progress. It’s just like them blocking nuclear energy in the 60s and 70s. Congratulations to China for winning the tech war and AI race. (+71)
The social media outrage is 100% derivative of this. (+30)

I’m getting mass downvoted on this very thread as people doom about AI leaders cheering on the job apocalypse (which just isn’t true to the level people on reddit think it is). It’s a combination of both astroturfing from China and Russia and actual poor economic literacy. Sad to see it happen in this subreddit. People would have boycotted cars because they could take away the horse industry. (+30)

Progressives and slopulists and their shit policies, continuing to drive all the wealth and people into red states. NY has lost 5 electoral seats since 2000 as the population declines. The fastest growing states are now red states. Lets keep giving red states more wealth, people, electoral votes, and house reps. Let's continue to make red states the center of the AI and tech. (+14)

'Hello, yes, I would love it if fascists and authoritarians had the monopoly over future tech and infrastructure. Is it possible to get that with fries?' (+13)

Luddite idiots (+5)

>People aren't Luddites because they disagree with you. Data centers became a huge issue specifically because of utility prices. No one is protesting them because they "hate progress". People noticed paying hundreds to thousands of dollars more per year for the same amount of power usage and they are fucking pissed off. It wouldn't be an issue people care about nearly as much if it wasn't for that. (+6)

Utility prices have skyrocketed everywhere, including in Europe, and it’s got very little to do with power centres. Even if there was some effect, the potential benefits of new technology vastly outweigh the extra bucks. (+3)

Get fucked data centers (-7)

I blame the weirdo tech bros bragging about how many jobs AI will replace for why data centers are so wildly unpopular. (+90)

>people here cant fathom not wanting to give thiel and sam altman money (+65)

A lot of people here are completely detached from reality. So many just cannot seem to understand why anyone would ever be concerned about AI taking their job after years of being told "AI may be coming for your job." They'll call you a luddite or throw out empty platitudes about "new technology often creates many more jobs than it replaces," as if that's supposed to put food on someone's table when they're out of work and having to train for a new career. It's fairly apparent that many people here have known nothing but very comfortable, privileged lives and have never known any form of economic insecurity. (+10)

Anyone here wants to take the r/GAYSoNA5 sub?

Hey all, some of you might know me as the guy who used to repost a lot of akeshu memes and fanarts on the main persona 5 subreddit some years ago.

after the P5 sub banned shipping content (guess why) i made r/GAYSoNA5 as a community for LGBT ships and content related to the persona series as a whole

I gave up on the idea quite quickly due to some stuff in my personal life preventing me from properly taking care of a subreddit at the time

Anyone here wants to take it?
