Hopefully not a waste of money. Stuff sticks to Mazdas clearcoat like crazy. I also noticed their paint is very thin(80 microns or less) and has a very prominent orange peel.
It almost looks too shiney now. But now its ready for fall and winter driving without fear.
Other than adhesive butyl mats, is there any insulation that would work in the roof of the Miata RF?
There are 2 cloth panel inserts that have space behind them. Im thinking I could fit a thin foam mat or sorbothane in there to help further dampen noise.
Any suggestions?

Is it possible to buy the 35th anniversary wheels? I haven't found them anywhere so I guess they're specific to that model.
Alternatively I could buy the standard current wheels and powder coat them. Any suggestions on what color use that would be closest to the 35th anniversary silver?
I'm looking at a few Certified Pre Owned 2024 Miatas, the ND RF. I'm surprised to see quite a few with low mileage available.
Since it's Certified Pre Owned there probably isn't much to worry about. Anything to consider with the 2024 since it's the first year of the ND3?
I want a 2024 or 2025 for the much improved infotainment and other refinements. I'm considering a new 2026 but it's a lot more money, almost $10k more.
My EV is likely totaled. There are few EV chargers where I live and in my current state. I can charge at home, and sometimes at work if I'm lucky enough to get a charger there. So getting another EV seems logical.
But the Miata has basically been my dream car for years. This would be my only vehicle.
I know it's an apples/oranges comparison. But the Miata would actually be cheaper to insure and possibly have lower lifetime repair costs. I would absolutely spend more money on gas than charging. But the gap probably isn't that huge - I don't drive a ton.
I'm a firm believer in green energy, but there are limited appealing ev options for me at the moment in terms of vehicle size. I want to do more long road trips and gas would make that somewhat easier.
Does anyone have an EV and a Miata? My feeling is the Miata's quick responsiveness makes it closer to an ev than most other ICE vehicles. But maybe I would be disappointed and have a hard time going back to ICE. I know it's an odd question as they're not really comparable, but this is what I'm considering.

When I configure the CHR XSE trim it shows optional 20 inch wheels that look different from what's depicted in the configurator.
Are these actually the wheels that can be specced with this car, or are they just a representation? I like the wheels shown in the lower right.
But are the wheels shown on the CHR already 20inch, or some other 19inch variant?
I live in the mid west now which has the harshest winters Ive experienced. I grew up on the east coast and have a decent amount of experience driving in snow.
Im considering a 2025/26 RF in Soul Red.
I would likely run some kind of snow tire like a Nokian in winter and a grand touring tire in summer.
I know I would likely need to apply underbody anti rust treatment and also would likely add an underbody aero/skid plate kit, as well as mud guards.
Is this doable? Im coming from a RWD sedan which did ok in winter.
My concerns are the lightness of the car, and overall durability with our super salty roads.
I might be in the minority but I prefer Soul Red with the tan interior.
Currently you can only spec tan interior with Deep Blue Mica(too dark for my liking) or Aero grey(looks nice but red is superior)
Is it possible to retrofit tan interior parts from an earlier ND?
Alternatively can you upgrade or swap the infotainment in an earlier Miata from 2017-2021?
I dont think the current display can be retrofitted to the old model, but not sure.
Overall I prefer the subtle upgrades made to the 2024+ RF interior, but I do like the tan.
A few years back the UK and I think Europe got the UX300e, and electric version of the UX300.
Cut to 2026 and now it's sort of the opposite. The UK gets the CHR Hybrid, and the US only gets the CHR+ EV.
It seems like the CHR would be the ideal platform for a UX300e successor - maybe call it the UZ or brand it as the LBX for the US.
Is it realistic to expect this anytime soon? I'm looking for a successor to my Model 3 for daily driving. Considering something like a Cadillac Optiq, but it's a bit larger than I'd like. The simple solution is to get a CHR, but would really like a Lexus trimmed version. Lexus has better interiors and better paint color options in general.
I want to powder coat my pc case, or possibly cerakote it a different color.
Cerakote is more resistant to oils and staining. But as I understand it, it can chip more easily and pick up marks from surfaces, a bit like how stoneware picks up markings from utensils, and can be difficult to clean.
Powder coat is more fragile/softer. But way way cheaper.
Which do you prefer for a PC case and why? This will sit on my desk at arms length. So I want the finish to look its best.

As far as I know its an option on the Y premium outside the US. With the YL in the US now maybe some other options will trickle in, but not sure.

Im interested in shooting NRaw video. But realistically probably wont want to deal with the file sizes often. The Zf 10 bit 4:2:0 codec is decent but not par with NRaw footage, especially in lower light.
Mainly Im wondering about the manual focus experience. The Z6III has a higher resolution evf.
Is it the better choice?

Im thinking of selling the 4070Ti and getting a 9060xt to fit a smaller case, a Ghost S1.
Or could I successfully use the 4070?
Any concerns about the cpu choice?
