Has anyone installed any custom rom on their s23?
How has it worked out for you? How has the camera been? Are all camera features intact? Are payment apps working? Like gpay and all?

Im a PhD student but I don't have measure theory background and I need to get the overall notion for it to understand stochastic processes. So is there a good book or yt playlist where measure theoretical probability and stochastic process is taught from scratch? That would be of much help. Thanks.

I keep hoping @andrewmanganelli sees this but can we please bring back #askmkbhd monthly? I (and I'm sure many more) miss the old series where he used to entertain questions from tweets and sub posts. I just hope they read this :) atleast consider.
It is sort of urgent, I'm looking for a good gynae in powai area; someone specialised in treating PCOD/PCOS and insulin resistance. Any help would be much appreciated.
So I recently updated to the beta and there is this new clock animation where it's supposed to be bouncy. But often times it happens that that bounce animation is choppy and laggy. Is there a way it can be made better?
Please help me out. In dire need of one.
Disclaimer: this is just my opinion.
I've always wanted a very compact smartphone and I got my s23 w my first salary. And ofc I baby it till this day. I even have a secondary phone where I do most of my rough use. So I opted in to the beta for the first time for oneui9. And immediately after the first boot I notice my phone is slightly warm ALL THE TIME. even when it's just inside my gym bag doing nothing. Ofc I got scared. And a quick factory reset solved the warmness. But I think I'll opt out of the beta programme for now. Don't want a green light saber on my phone any time soon. Cheers.
Sos I joined the beta for the first time and this was my experience. Ofc the device went hot while updating and there was no green line thankfully. But once it was done, idk why the device is slightly warm to the touch all the time. Even when I'm not doing literally anything. Is this normal? My device used to be just normal and cool. Is there any way I can fix this? I literally baby my phone and I'm shit scared.
So this is the first time I was able to join the oneui9 beta programme and I'm already curious and confused whether i should have joined or not. Where I do love living on the edge with the latest software, I just wanted to ask....how bad are usually the bugs? Do essential things like camera or Samsung pay don't work at times? I just wanted to know if it's remotely usable and actually a nice experience?
So it's been maybe 10 months that I switched to spay because it looks much cooler and has all my credit cards in the wallet and I can just swipe up to pay. I'm from Mumbai India, so here we also have upi payments. But for the past two to two and a half months I've been observing that the payments take forever to complete , through upi-scan. Often times I have to switch my internet on and off and it becomes quick but I'm 200% sure that it's not an internet speed issue because in google pay for upi I have never encountered this problem while making payments. I've compared it sort of side by side. Can anyone please help me out? Has anyone of you nice people faced the same or is it just me?
Thanks. Have a lovely weekend.

I'm not much into pure oud due to its skanky nature. Maybe it's not for me but I am into the concept of attars due to its long lasting nature in this high humidity mumbai weather. I am a fan of woody tobacco type fragrances like ajmal's royal oud kuwaiti and it absolutely fits my taste. Can someone please very kindly suggest something in a similar ball park? More like "if you like the profile of royal oud kuwaiti you should definitely try...." Kind.
Thanks!!
I've been a student for a while now and the slightest chance comes of some sort of a conflict, or the littlest argument or maybe even some opinion mismatch...I've observed so many cases where (I've mostly had these sort of interactions with guys, completely) they just go at some stage "tu freshie hai na?". Well no I'm not a freshie....but that's beside the point. Why do even people have to bring it up? I've been a student my entire life of course but i have never before experienced such a thing or neither have I been taught to treat individuals with a judgement of their seniority/juniority. I have been taught to speak up when unfair stuff is done, be it to me or somebody else, but it seems so illogical when people just go all of a sudden asking our batch/year and go all macho about it. Well it's kinda not very coherently logical and shows a very flawed thought process.
Jeez I can see the lack of civic sense in hostel groups quite frequently....but even outside of it....this is how it is? It makes me feel sorry for them. But I love the campus. People generally are very nice.....but my question to you good people is....has your experience been similar? Is it usually like this at IITB?
Thanks!
I am not sure if this subreddit is essentially appropriate for this post but i dont know where exactly to post. I am in an institute in india and all of a sudden today my hostel wifi shows <wifi name> does not support private dns. now i have my internet dns to adguard dns since i dont really want any ads on my phone. on laptop i just use ublock origin which serves the purpose. Can someone help me use adguard dns with my wifi? i am really new, thanks!!
I recently visited the ajmal counter in my locality and tested their Royal Oud Kuwaiti oil. Being not a huge fan of strong oud oil skank, I thought "yeah it's prolly gon be the same". But jeez I swear the way it was absolutely blew my mind!
First of all: The fragrance has no original oud in it. So you'll not observe any skank or barnyard smell in it. The scent profile is what I would describe as perfectly woody, and spicy, and masculine.
The opening: (rich oud opening mentioned)
Heart: (patchoulli, amber mentioned)
Base: (deep agarwood, amber, musk)
What I get: well initially I get a strong wood like smell. And it isn't oud. This one is woody. Like pencil shaving, cedarwood; I'm getting that sweetness. On the background I'm getting a very sweet and rich spiciness , something like the sweet spices you put in pulao....like star-annise, cinnamon, but mostly something like fennel seeds sweetness. And this spiciness absolutely drives me crazy. There's also a resinous feel but it isn't like sweet juicy resin...it's very dense and dark. So overall it's a woody spicy fragrance. A lot of reviewers say they get raspberry and sweet and sour fruits but I don't really get that. Maybe my nose ain't that mature. Overall it is not a strictly oud perfume....but yes people who like dark occassions would love to wear it. One more thing to add is that I personally also get tobacco from it. Maybe it's not there as a note but it's degree of masculinity gives me a tobacco feel as well.
Longevity: beast mode, lasts days on my clothes
Projection: it doesn't project much , stays close to the skin. I atleast expected it to project loudly in the ac, but it doesn't.
Seasons to wear: definitely winter, and I like to wear it in the cloudy rainy season too. Mostly a nightime baby. And sometimes I like to layer it wish ruh khus...call me weird but I like the way it smells all together. I'm new to this game so forgive me please.
Age range: definitely mature crowd. But I'm not very old....but I like to wear mature fragrances. Makes me feel like a grown up. Even though my decisions aren't very grown-up-y.
Unisex? Well I believe all perfumes are unisex. But yes I can imagine a very confident woman who knows what she wears can definitely pull it off with a lot of sass. Otherwise it's mostly a gentleman's perfume.
Occasion: definitely office friendly, signature scent worthy of you're in cold country. Don't wear it in the heat or you'll choke. But I imagine a man with broad shoulders, combed black hair, sharp jawline, clean shaven, wearing a black blazer with a bowtie maybe....a few dabs on your blazer cuffs from which your white shirt shows, that'll be beautiful smelling. Something like a grand dinner, red carpet events, conferences, gala dining sessions.
Compliments: yes I've received few compliments but mostly when I've asked people to smell me. (No) Thanks to the lacking projection.
Should you buy it?
Well it's a try and buy. Definitely a sample. Try it in stores, ajmal boutiques. This is absolutely my favourite perfume and I'm planning to make it as my signature scent. I already have a back up vial purchased. I'm prepared.
Signing off,
Wear your fragrances 🙈
Today I decided to go to colaba w my partner after quite a while. So when I'm going to colaba i thought why not just visit the Ajmal store today. Earlier I've been to Ajmal md. Ali road and kurla, and have had quite an amazing experience. The staff was so well behaved and kind earlier and made us try so many options. But this time, the moment I entered I saw different clusters of Arab families shopping for themselves and their wives and the staff was behaving so well with them. They were even talking to them in their language, offering them tea and what not!!
So I wasn't having a very good feeling any way. However it doesn't look good to just enter and exit at the first go, so we did. A customer executive told us "kya chahiye". So I said that we wanna see some loose attars (because in my last Ajmal visits, that's what I bought....I got Royal Oudh Kuwaiti for myself and she got patchoulli khususi but regardless....I just wanted to see their variety and what all they had since their loose oils are good quality). And immediately he said, "sir aap packing waale dekh lijiye". And I don't really like their packaged attars personally. So I said "loose attars hi dekhne hai", Him: "aapko mild chahiye ya strong?" (You want strong or mild) Me: first show something for my partner, then I'll see Him : then you see in the packing attar section.
So we complied and went and sniffed a few and didn't like them as usual and came back to the loose attar section.
So I asked him to show something in the same neighbourhood as Royal Oudh Kuwaiti. And he just blatantly told me "that isn't good for madam.", so I told him that no I'm asking it for myself. Then he just effortlessly said that there's nothing which is exactly the same without even showing me anything. Then my girlfriend tested a few and she didn't like them. Then instead of showing us more options he's just constantly asking "what type are you looking for? First clear your mind what you want then only I can show you". And then when I asked him to show something woody for me, he again said "first let madam decide, it is better you don't test perfumes together, then you'll only be less confused". I'm like.....this is the biggest store of Ajmal in Bombay. And this is how they behave? Constantly not even showing us some options, and treating the tourist customers with such gratitude? This is so unacceptable. I, as a human being, am usually very affected by this sort of unnecessary customer harrassment for no reason really. I mean what have I done that the executives have to show their snob values to people like us who (like a customer) comes to your store, sees and tests your options, and purchased if he likes?! Nothing right? Of course I couldn't create a scene infront of so many people because I don't really want to be that kind of a person. I'm educated, and I know very well about my values and my manners. So for what reason certain individuals in these big store treat their customers like this, I have no idea.
At the end I didn't purchase anything and just went out, but i really wanted to buy something you know....I didn't get anything just because how snob the customer service executive is. I am really into attars, because I appreciate the longevity in the high heat condition and afterall it's very affordable since I'm still a student. But this kind of experience really makes me want to ditch my perfume hobby all together. And really, these kind of people just get away. They get their thick paychecks and thick commissions and there's probably zero punishment for the kind of harrassing experience they provide to the Indian customers. At the end of the day, a customer is a customer. At the end of the day, they are also buying something from you in exchange of money. But this kind of discrimination and the flat lack if interest to show customers the variety. Constantly telling "aisa exact tow nahi hai". "Ye aapke liye nahi hai".....well I am the customer and I am supposed to decide what is good for me. And if I like it, there's no one to say what's for me and what's not.
I'm really disappointed with the Ajmal store in colaba. This is completely unacceptable. I have huge respect for the brand and their fragrance quality....but their service, managerial end and customer end is an absolute tragedy. High time they fix this issue once and for all. And it isn't me alone....y'all can check their google reviews page. Check the lowest ratings and reviews for yourself. I try not to be wrong but today simply shocked me.
The members of the community have been very supportive. And I request y'all to comment down your takes on this. Maybe even drop your experience. And if you can, someone can please let me know if I can make some sort of complaint which will actually improve customer service. I really don't want my brother's and sisters from India who are young, who are students, who want to explore (even if they don't want to buy....because buying is their decision ) to face such a thing for their innocent hobby. Thank you for your patience for reading this piece.
Came across this today on my unused spotify app. Any thoughts?
I'm a student at iitb and lately I've been thinking of getting a midi keyboard or a dj set, just cause I like producing beats of my own. Anyone into this kind of a hobby? I know there ain't much of a club about electronic music or sumn but if any student could guide me through that'd be of a lotta help. Peace.
I recently went to a shoppers stop store in Mumbai (actually I've been to loads and the experience is generally the same) and for some reason I wanted to explore some perfumes. I really wanted to score a bottle tbh. And before I even enter the store I see nearly 8-9 black shirt uncles (basically) looking at me from a distance. I mean that in itself was kind of intimidating for me. Despite that, I tried to go there. And they start questioning me. "Perfumes?" , I say "yes" , they go "men or women? Work or regular? Office or occassion wear? Kis type mein dekh rahe ho? Koi brand chahiye?" And I was just stunned.....what the hell I just came in! Anyway, I was looking at the shiny jpg lemale elixir absolu, cause it's my dream scent. And immediately a dude comes from behind and just says "yes sir?". I mean I didn't even call for him and here he is asking me "yes sir?". Well I said "I'm looking" and ignored him. Then I went ahead to pick the bottle, and before I could place my finger on the sprayer (he's been standing there behind me like the Undertaker meme the whole time) he suddenly asks "laiye mujhe dijiye" and takes the bottle from me and sprays it on a tester strip. And now there are 4-5 people with bottles in their hands from Bvlgari, hugo boss, Nautica even asking me "sir fragrances? Sir fragrances?...this one best seller"...I mean the entire experience was ruined to dust really! Trust me you, if I wanted to, I would've bought a perfume but the experience became so shitty I had to rush out of there.
I mean I even remember, there's some niche perfume store in Mumbai whose name I can't quite recall....there I went to pick up a bottle of reflection man (because I wanted to see what the polarising scent profile is like....and I hope that curiosity is normal and doesn't need a price-tag or some "aukaat" whatever) and a dude literally tells me "zyada strong hai, spray mat karo"....and I just went "..." . I mean how is an individual even supposed to react and even potentially explore some more perfumes after such an experience?!
Contrary to this, the small brands, attar shops, shops like ajmal even (I've been to the ajmal stores for 6-7 times now, and the staff mostly is so well behaved), people are just different. They ask you how you are, they.....idk it's just different.
Dear community members, I'm sorry for the rant but I'm really disappointed at the staff behaviour at malls at this stage. They even judge you, I even got asked once "how are you going to pay sir?" Just because I sniffed the atomiser of a prada paradigm parfum. After not letting me even see how a fragrance is from start to finish, it's so hurtful to see the store staff being so desparate to just sell. On top of that they hardly know stuff about the perfume....things like notes etc. I mean I get it...they're here to help, but me as an enthusiast/amateur will absolutely look out for them *IF I NEED THE HELP!!"*. At this stage I am lowkey scared to go to stores and even glance at perfumes, lest I get surrounded by people I should be answerable to.
Kind members, please feel free to share your thoughts, views, and responses to overcome such circumstances.
