Has anyone created a version of Mad Gab for a sign language?

For those unaware, Mad Gab is a party game/activity where one person reads aloud a series of nonsensical words that, to everyone else listening, sounds like a common phrase/sentence. The reader has to try to figure out what everyone else is hearing them unintentionally say. For example, "eye fallafel" reads nonsensically, but sounds like "I feel awful."

I know very little about sign language, but I imagine a game like Mad Gab should theoretically be possible by exploiting hand shapes that are similar and the transitions between signs as coincidental movements. Any instance of misinterpreting signed song lyrics would be an example of a fitting prompt/answer.

Does anyone know if someone has already created such a thing?

I saw a YouTube thumbnail titled "What if YOU awakened the Sharingan?"

And my first reaction was that I'd now have to avoid activating them at all costs to prevent PEM, maybe even have to cover them up like Kakashi.

Even if I could use it to analyze action at superhuman speeds, it's not like I could move my body in any meaningful way in response, except maybe to catch something before it spills/breaks so that I don't crash from a cleanup.

I guess I could develop a genjutsu that gave people the experience of ME/CFS temporarily but time-dilated like Itachi to get people to understand. Though that would create its own problems with militaries and militias taking note of my abilities.

Maybe I could self-genjutsu into a better existence and escape into a false reality.

I can't be the only one here who's familiar with Naruto, so what are your thoughts?

(I didn't bother watching the video since I wasn't interested.)

My idea is to have votes on polls automatically upvote the post

The upvote/downvote button is for sorting out what content is good/relevant and what content is bad/irrelevant. If a user is voting on a poll, their interaction indicates that the content is good/relevant. If it were bad/irrelevant, one wouldn't be interacting with the poll in the first place.

Did the Japanese name(s) なおみ arise independently from Hebrew name נׇעֳמִי?

I don't have the skills to search for the earliest uses of the Japanese name. I don't see any Japanese Naomis on Wikipedia born before 1900, but that's also just reflective of how encyclopedias are with documenting people born before 1900.

[Behind the name](https://www.behindthename.com/name/naomi-2) mentions Western influence.

I noticed a pattern in how people are seated in CONAF

In a horseshoe, it goes;

- Conan
- Sona
- Bley
- Eduardo
- Adam
- Gourley

And that oddly matches up with how likely I think they are into feet, from least to most likely.

Discuss.

We have to save Shiggy from his OPPRESSIVE PRISON

THE INDUSTRY IS HOLDING HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HOSTAGE SO THAT SHIGGY CAN'T MAKE A GAME

When asked if he’s interested at all in directing games again, Miyamoto said:

“Right now, I’m not really thinking about it. But with Pikmin Bloom, I got involved because I wanted to make it myself, so depending on the theme, if I can do something interesting with it, there might come a time when I want to do it. I have the know-how (laughs). Nowadays, if you want to make one game, you have to get 200 people involved, so it’s tough. Movies are also big productions, but in those cases, the procedural people are the ones who keep the production running. The producers on set are really busy, though.”

SHIGGY'S OWN FAMILY IS CONSPIRING AGAINST HIM

Famitsu next asked if there’s anything he’d like to pursue. Regarding that, he stated:
“I don’t really have anything specific in mind. I would be happy if I could start a movement where ‘everyone and their dog’ joins in, but there’s nothing that I feel like I’m going to see through to the end. My family is telling me, ‘Isn’t it about time you stopped?’ (laughs).

SHIGGY HINTS THAT HE'S AN ASSASSINATION TARGET

Miyamoto, who is now 74 years old, also said the following when asked if he has any feelings of hoping to continue doing what he’s been doing in ten years:

“Ah, yes, that’s right. The feeling of ‘I hope we can keep going’ fits perfectly. On set, we say things like, ‘It wouldn’t be surprising if I collapsed tomorrow, so make sure you’re okay (laughs).’ I just hope we can keep going without any problems.”

HE NEEDS HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF US TO TRAP OUR SOULS IN MIIS TO SAVE HIM

Finally, there’s an interesting note about Miis. While discussing how there seem to be more foreigners in Japan now, Miyamoto brought up how it’d be neat to see those characters on personal IDs.

He shared the following:

“… what’s interesting is that westerners really put a lot of effort into creating their Miis. In the past, it was said that Miis weren’t necessarily designed to suit the faces of westerners, so I’m happy about this. I think it would be really interesting if this wasn’t limited to Pikmin Bloom, but could be linked with Nintendo Accounts and we could collect hundreds of millions of Miis.

Miis use very little memory. Nintendo is a company that is very particular about how to achieve the maximum effect with as little memory as possible. Normally, an avatar can easily take up several megabytes, but Miis are made up of only a few hundred bytes. This compact design started with the specification of wanting to fit dozens of people into a Wii controller, and with this, even if we had hundreds of millions of them, they would probably all fit into that small amount of memory.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if, in the future, Mii characters were attached to personal IDs all over the world? I can’t help but wonder if that’ll ever happen. I’ve been talking about something that sounds like a trade secret, but this is the kind of thing that should be spread around (laughs). Thinking about things like that makes every day fun.”

I'm sad the World Cup is over. Is there anywhere I can relive the magic?

YESYesyesyesyesss.... If you have more hours playing FIFA than kicking a an actual ball, I have just the spot for you.

New York's Hottest Club is "Fuck me, Bucee's is mental!" Located in the last AirBnB in Brooklyn that the host actually lives in, this pub that's nostalgic for a time that only existed in movies will have you waving so many different global flags that a bigot will kindly remind you that pride month is over.

This place has everything:

Shakira selling cheating detection jam

Rowing coaches complaining about the average person's bad form

Korean men who are a Seoul 3 but a CDMX 9

Transracial Hatsune Miku

A children's choir being paid in Robux

A booth to ask ChatGPT where Cabo Verde is

A mannequin with a head made of Silly Putty

A receptionist desk to schedule diabetes checkups in your home country

Air conditioning

Oh, and every time there's an ad break, the Trophy Ceremony happens.

>What's this trophy ceremony about?

It's when four little people spray-painted head to toe in gold climb out of a Louis Vuitton suitcase and pump up a giant globe beach ball and raise it above their heads while singing the most generic Afro-Latin anthem you could imagine.

Look at this disgusting greed. Playing games from previous hardware generations instead of waiting for them to be rereleased on the current generation.

Just let us exist! This video criticizing job training as a response to autism captures my feelings about how the current US system is a dead end for living with ME/CFS

TL;DW: Autistic disability advocate Kaelynn Partlow explains how job training is not an appropriate way to care for autistic people with major cognitive issues, and invites the audience to consider a better path toward giving such people fulfilling and impactful roles in society.

[Guide] Pinyin with different spellings that rhyme

Often when learning a language you are trying to grasp on to rules and assume consistency. But Mandarin, like virtually every other language, has exceptions to the rules and pinyin has some.

you rhymes with niu/liu/jiu/xiu not lou/gou/rou/dou

ye rhymes with bie/die/jie/xie not de/le/ne/me

yan rhymes with bian/dian/pian/mian not ban/dan/pan/man

bo/po/mo/fo rhyme with duo/tuo/guo/huo not lou/gou/rou/dou

wei rhymes with dui/tui/gui/hui not shei/lei/gei/bei

wen rhymes with lun/shun/sun/hun not zhen/hen/ben/gen

yu/ju/qu/xu rhyme with nü/lü not nu/lu/ku/shu

yue/jue/que/xue are more like puckered lip (then unpuckered) versions of ye/jie/qie/xie not rhymes with yu/ju/qu/xu or de/ne/le/ke

yuan/juan/quan/xuan are more like puckered lip (then unpuckered) versions of yan/jian/qian/xian not rhymes with ban/pan/lan/gan

yun/jun/qun/xun are more like puckered lip versions of yin/jin/qun/xin not rhymes with lun/dun/sun/kun
