Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashini— who else has read this unhinged book?

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

I just finished the audiobook and cannot believe my ears. I was hate-listening to this novel after 30 minutes in and almost gave up a few times.

The main character was so insufferable up until the point it is revealed that she’s a full blown psychopath. For some reason, I don’t believe it was unbelievable but rather just… a lot of work for nothing??? I mean, yes, she got the house, but she still killed two people! Possibly 3 if she didn’t kill her husband at the end. I don’t see why she couldn’t just go back to Dotty somehow and try to get the paper somehow, someway.

When she was going to go back to the house, I thought maybe she was going to find the paper from his computer and hack in or something.

I feel like it tried to be like Gone Girl without being as clever. I don’t know. I was just… idk. Maybe I would have liked it better if I have read it. The audiobook narrator was great but maybe a little too great to the point I HATED the character so much.

A lot of cringe writing with this book, like Millenial trying to be Gen-Z while still being Millenial. And I say this as a Millenial.

Any other thoughts?

My best friend didn’t say thank you for a wedding gift.

My best friend got married and it was a small wedding of 30 people.

I got her a card and wrote some heartfelt things in it and put a generous amount of money in it.

The wedding has been over a month and they did not go on a honeymoon or anything. Everything resumed to normalcy afterward — no drama on their end, etc.

We’ve talked and hung out since and no mention of the card or the gift.

Perhaps I am too entitled-thinking to wanting to be thanked or acknowledged?

I know Thank You cards are becoming a thing of the past but not even a text or in-person thanks even for the card itself is a bit rude to me.

[sun care] My all-time holy grail sunscreen got discontinued and I need a replacement

I am embarrassingly not OK

I had no idea there was an active lawsuit going on with this sunscreen; if I had known, I would STOCKED up! It’s basically about not disclosing certain sunscreen filters and CVS had to change their formula.

Anyway, this was such an amazing sunscreen. I got so many compliments when I wore this. I’ve been using it for 6 years. I was so confused when I shopped this sunscreen and I got a new version and it was seriously so chalky and bad. The new formulation is terrible.

Anyone got any dupes? I can’t do La Roche Posay (my skin gets irritated with theirs) and it’s so hard to find a good sunscreen. This has genuinely made me sick to my stomach.

I want to order my stepmom a cake, but is lemon filling paired with chocolate cake topped with cream cheese frosting not ideal?

Hello!

I live 9 hours away from my immediate family and my step-mom’s birthday is coming up.

I want to order her a cake and she LOVES lemon and chocolate. I was looking at the grocery store in the town she lives in and they’re only giving me options for yellow cake, white, or chocolate. The filling is going to be lemon. The frosting options are buttercream white, white whipped cream, or cream cheese buttercream…

To me, chocolate does pair well with lemon, she also loves chocolate, but I don’t know about the frosting. Would cream cheese be too rich with the chocolate and lemon?

I need help. She lives in a rural town and there’s only one main grocery store chain.

Any insights would be lovely.

Gay bros, have you seen the gay movie Leviticus?

I highly recommend it!

It’s not for everyone but it has a very symbolic message for gay men — especially young! — navigating their sexuality and it has a supernatural horror element to it.

The film really hits its mark in the second half.

In theaters now!

Does this mean the showing time is sold-out?

I can’t select the 2:45 showing.

I can’t imagine it would be sold out and even if it was it would still show the theater and what seats are taken?

Regal showing Army propaganda before movie showings…

It was a very long commercial with Trump and how the United States won’t bow down to any country, etc.

It really threw me off-guard because I just didn’t think they’d show this type of thing.

I’m not anti military or anything but I’m wondering if the U.S government paid for this advertisement or made a deal with Regal?

Has anyone got filler in their nasal labial folds?

I recently got Hylauronic acid (HA) inserted in my laugh lines and it looks very nice and natural.

It has only been a day.

I noticed my left side isn’t as soft-looking as my right and my injector is very skilled and I trust him.

I was just wondering does it take a week or two to get real, final results?

So confused by Carrie’s downstairs neighbor in AJLT

I thought she got a house or a town house but she has a neighbor downstairs and I thought the yard was hers but it’s a shared one???

Did I miss something, is this typically New York style, or am I just crazy

They didn’t show Michael this weekend at my theater

I can’t believe it.

The took it off this weekend’s roster but it’s back on next week through the weekend.

I know there is a lot of movies coming out but I thought this was odd.

I absolutely LOVE the album, Middle of Nowhere, but for some reason…

I have not been going back to it as much.

It’s weird because I relate to almost all of the songs, I love the album, it’s well-written and produced, but I just do not find myself going back to it as much.

The first 2 weeks were nonstop listening from front to back.

I’ve noticed this within myself from artists I love and their recent releases: there’s not much replay value. I don’t know why.

Does anyone else feel this way???

I just finished the final season and wow.

I posted here last year about not liking season 4 because of the back-and-forth fighting and how it was too much.

I’m glad this season was not only better, but it did end in a major high, just like the Deborah was trying to do.

I did think at first the writers were aware of how season 4 didn’t quite work in the way it did, and they tried a little too hard to make Deborah and Ava be buddy-buddy to the point of it seeming a bit heavy-handed and not so organic. Midway through, however, their relationship finally solidified and they saw each other for the first time.

I’m going to miss this show. Just absolutely fantastic. I cried.

I am glad Deborah did not do the assisted suicide. I do find it a bit odd how her daughter wasn’t going to be on the end trip or have any type of explanation… ultimately, one of the best finales I’ve seen in a very long time.

The new Scary Movie makes a joke about Britney Spears

I just got out of the theater from watching the new Scary Movie.

There is a hospital scene with morphine and another character jabs the needle in her arm and goes into an ecstasy frenzy and says something along the lines of, “This is the good sh*t. Makes me feel like Britney Spears dancing with knives.”

No one laughed.

I have a question about taking Dutasteride

I started taking DUT in June of ‘25 and I took it all the way until December.

I switched insurances and then started taking it again in March.

I took it for 6 months on, 3 months off, so do I have to start my time over again in the sense where I’ve only been taking it for 2 months or can I resume and claim I’ve been taking it for 8 months now? I know they say to be on it a year before a HT.

Also, I’m taking 0.5 but should it be 1 mg?

Cassie and Lexi’s conversation in the end

…should have been more powerful and a moment.

Instead, it fell incredibly flat.

I’m trying not to be rude, but Maude Apatow is truly a terrible, monotonous actress. All of her dialogue and expressions are never on the same page.

The end scene with the sisters should have been some type of moment and instead it just didn’t really pack a meaningful punch. I thought Sydney’s acting was great but you can really tell how amateur Maude is, even when she is trying to convey how she didn’t like her last interaction with Rue. It just seemed like she was talking about any regular thing.

Is Michael being pulled out of theaters this week?

I wanted to watch it in theaters one last time but I looked at my Regal’s and they have limited movies for the whole weekend with only 4 movies playing instead of the usual 14.

Is Masters of the Universe really that popular???

Ask for Andrea by Nicole W Ihli— does it get better?

I’m listening to the audiobook and I’m currently in chapter 14.

I think the premise is so cool but I’m finding it a little boring. Does it get better?

Sorry I meant Noelle

Looking back, I don’t understand why they scrapped In the Zone’s era so early

I understand they did so because of Britney’s knee injury in June of 2024. She was already overworked and over it.

What I don’t understand is why they canceled it only for her to perform again the same year with a different project that is GH: MP

But I genuinely think they could have saved the Outrageous music video and era. All we would need is some headshots of her singing Outrageous and looking great and they could have added in everything else they shot a few months later.

Breathe On Me could have been the final single or even more singles added.

I say this because they rushed Greatest Hits: My Prerogative in September with the music video premiering shortly afterwards. A few months later in Feb of 2025 Do Somethin’ with a music video with light choreography was performed. I just find it wild how they scrapped so much of ITZ because of the knee injury only to move on to something else.

I just finished The Silent Patient by Alex Michaeleds…

I listened to the audiobook so I’m not sure if that makes me biased when it comes to this review, but I thought the so-called “twist” was apparently obvious and I fail to see how this was even shocking.

I didn’t dislike or like it but just felt like it was… there? Just there.

Could Britney, in her prime, pull off Michael Jackson’s Thriller’s choreography?

I was thinking…

If the 20th anniversary of Thriller back in 2002 did a reimagining of the music video and they chose Britney to sing and redo the video, could she have pulled off the choreography?
