Prey (2022)
Female-lead, wilderness, scenic, native American culture, well-paced, beautifully shot, survival, historic setting, tense, satisfying.
How was this film for you?
12 Angry Men (1957)
Courtroom drama, legal drama, tense, dialogue-driven, character-driven, thought-provoking, psychological, gripping, intense, classic, masterpiece, moral dilemma, reason vs prejudice
Few films manage to be as gripping, despite taking place almost entirely in a single room.
On paper, it sounds simple: twelve jurors deliberate the fate of a young man accused of murder. In practice, it's one of the most intense, suspenseful, and thought-provoking films ever made.
What makes it remarkable is that there are no elaborate action sequences, visual effects, or constant location changes. Instead, the film relies on dialogue, character dynamics, and careful reasoning to keep you completely invested.
What are your thoughts on the film? And if you have any recommendations for a fan of 12 Angry Men, share them below?

UPDATE!!! It's back up. 🥳🎉🎊
How do you define a "favorite"?
For me, it's something I can rewatch anytime and still enjoy it every time without having to force myself. That's what makes it a favorite.
What's your definition?
Watching Samurai Jack as a Kid
I still remember the first time I watched Samurai Jack on Cartoon Network. I became completely obsessed with it. That opening theme was unforgettable, and the show's atmosphere felt so different from anything else on TV.
I'd eagerly wait for it to come on, even though it never aired as often as I wanted. Most of the time it would be an episode I'd already seen, but I never skipped it. Watching Jack's journey again was always worth it.
What are your favorite memories of watching Samurai Jack? Which episode or moment has stayed with you all these years?
The Man From Earth
indie, philosophical, mystery, drama, minimalistic, dialogue-driven, slow burn, thought provoking.
I stumbled across this movie while looking for something worth watching. I didn't watch the trailer, and don't think I read the description either.
It's slow and calm, but held my attention the entire time and I didn't feel bored even once.
The thought that stayed with me was: Could someone like that exist or has ever existed in history? An anomaly maybe?
I don't want to give anything away so as not to spoil it that's why I'm keeping it vague.
I'd like to know who has watched it, and how was it for them.
Thoughts on this sequence
Let me tell you something, this character is Richie feels relatable.
Window's Bay easter egg
If you google "Widow's Bay", it says "Did you mean: the next martha's vineyard and definitely not cursed".
Those who haven't watched it might not get the reference.
What's the last show you watched and finished?
Mine was Widow's Bay.
If anyone has watched or is currently watching it, I'd like to know their thoughts on it.
👋 Welcome to r/PakistaniCinephiles - I'm u/csharx!
Movies, shows, and great storytelling have always been a big part of my life.
>As far back as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a cinephile. To me, being a cinephile was better than being President of [Pakistan].
I recently joined the moderation team, and
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.
I guess...
>You either die a [cinephile], or you live long enough to see yourself become [a moderator].
As a mod, I believe difference of opinion should always be welcome,
provided that discussions remain civil.
Good moderation should be fair, transparent, and respectful because...
>It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you.
I'll always try to make decisions thoughtfully rather than impulsively,
and to my best to remain approachable.
My inbox is always open if...
>You talkin' to me?
Although I might be one of the mods,
I'd like to be thought of as a fellow cinephile first,
who's here to enjoy discussions, exchange recommendations,
and help make this community an active and welcoming place for everyone,
because after all...
>I love the smell of fresh [recommendations] in the morning.
Whether you have a question, a suggestion,
or just want to talk about a movie or show,
feel free to leave a comment or send a msg.
Looking forward to watching, discussing,
and discovering great films and shows with y'all.
Because, in the end...
>All I wanna do is go the distance.
See you around!
