i know this is a repetitive topic and everyone’s sick of talking about it but i’m genuinely annoyed at how it feels very very intentional that belift doesn’t want korean fans.

i’ve been here since iland and initially it wasn’t the company’s fault. the situation and circumstances made enha more popular globally while still having some fans in korea too. there wasn’t a lot that could be done.

as their career progressed, i kept thinking its alright its difficult to get domestic fans into an already debuted older group. their schedules don’t allow it and they didn’t seem bothered by it either. i simply accepted that the company and enha were satisfied with being more popular overseas.

but recently jungwon has mentioned that the company and members are both aware and it almost sounded like they don’t know what to do about it. i had lost hope too and its NOT like they have 5 fans in korea. they do have a sizeable fandom, it just looks so small because the ifan community is ginormous relatively.

however they have been making so much noise in korea recently. it was so easy to please kfans. making the presale more accessible to them did wonders and everyone had so much fun at busan con. the amount of hit tweets on the kside from the concert were something i didnt see before. it was THAT easy to please fans and maybe recruit some more.

the cb is on 21st its 19th and we don’t have any promos on variety shows. the only events they’re doing in kr is the music show which is so difficult to get into and they’ve added a condition of buying 4 albums in order to get in instead of showing streaming proof. albums make more money than streaming the song so instead of encouraging charting they’ve resorted to making money. even the comeback showcase isn’t in korea. forget about getting new fans this stupid company seems to be getting rid of the old ones too.

don’t even come here with the whole “ifans are more loyal” bs. this year has shown me how loyal they are. dropping like flies over the slightest inconvenience. at the end of the day, its embarrassing for the members to go on variety shows and the host brings up how they aren’t popular in kr. its happened multiple times already.

they don’t have to change their concept or music or anything. all they have to do is do more showcases, fancons and concerts in korea. they debuted in 2020 and yet 2026 was the year so many kfans saw them performing for the first time.

so many people watch yt shows that host idols on them. enha always bring in views and they don’t have to do slapstick comedy. these are sit down talk shows so literally WHAT is stopping them from going?

of course this doesn’t affect them that much. enhypen are very successful and famous. they’re earning a lot of money too. but when its obvious that they want domestic recognition, why doesnt the company atleast do the bare minimum? i still can’t believe the showcase is in japan like what even? i don’t resort to bashing the company usually because i understand there are financial, logistical and other aspects which i don’t know so maybe there must a reason for the decisions they make. but this one seems like a no brainer so fumbling it is crazy. if people genuinely disliked them or their concept, that would be different. but they have all the factors needed to attract fans and even the slightest adjustment is proving to bring in new fans so why are we acting like its impossible..

if they want to give enha the tbl or yg treatment and make them mysterious and inactive then atleast do that properly. whats the point of making them work everyday and still not prioritising whats needed? just give them off time and dont do any promotions outside the comeback. nobody will complain about this then.

boygroup songs from 2015-2018ish had this specific sound that made them very energetic and dancey..? i looked into it and the genres i see repeat a lot are: dance pop, edm, electropop, future house and future bass.

its basically songs which sound energetic and also have a bazillion layers mixed in production which makes the chorus and the last bridge+chorus sound even more fuller and explosive. if you haven’t heard any of the above, i’d say knock by astro is the one song i love the most here. also, ddd by the boyz.

100% open to girlgroup songs too i think blackpink’s earlier music fits well and also some iz\*one songs.

after waking up i have a window of 30-40mins where i can’t study or do anything. i usually doomscroll and that starts my day in a bad way and i keep going back to my phone.

is there any book or novel that was inspiring/motivational for you? i want to read something instead of being on social media. i don’t mind nonfiction, fiction, essays, biographies etc.

first of all i must say that its very funny how everyone was praising them for being honest and blunt and setting boundaries but now that majority of nonfans don’t even know what happened, everyone’s back to being sheep and jumping on a bandwagon.

i have a post describing what happened on my account so i wont go into it. the reason why enhypen can’t talk about the mina situation might be because copycat suicides are common in fandom culture. a lot of times when there is a disturbing event, it might trigger other people to do the same. its well known and researched. lets all try to think a little bit because its so obvious how sensitive the case is and how saying anything about it could cause more damage than gain.

no bully on the internet is waiting for permission from idols to be mean. cyberbullying has been a thing since the inception of internet. them addressing it won’t change it. not to mention, most of the bullying was coming from japanese gossip sites and misogynists who were using this situation to hate on mina for being a hostess in the past.

all this is easily available to look and search on twitter. just type mina’s name in japanese. its easy to get an overview of the situation so i don’t want to be called a bird brain parasocial fan for defending anyone. accounts who make tweets demanding a response from enha not only use payola gcs but ARE the instigators behind cyberbullying idols everyday and yet you people give them likes and qrts.

jungwon went on live and apologised when something was clearly his fault. he was held accountable. if a fan who previously has severe mental health issues assumed that ni-ki was talking about her without him taking any names and cfans started spreading the videos from the concerts, how is it the idol’s fault? like i said, it was not one kpop fan at fault. im not saying this to defend engenes. all the hit tweets abusing her are still online and they’re from big blue tick accounts. how is enhypen supposed to take responsibility for someone else’s pre existing poor mental health?

adding: if enha do mention it, what if the fans who did bully her feel guilty and harm themselves too? also that would mean that by doing this, you can get noticed or get their attention which is also a very very bad signal to send. if they do respond to it in the future i hope its well thought out

i’ve always appreciated enhypen’s choreographies. right since debut till date i don’t think there’s a single title track or a bside that has a bad or even mid choreography. some underrated choreos i absolutely love are mixed up, upper side dreaming and let me in.

kpop choreographies usually have some level of conveying a message or lyrics through movements so while i already appreciate that, enha’s choreographies don’t slack when it comes to the “coolness” or attractiveness of the steps either. they maintain the theme and concept while also making it look visually clean and cohesive. that, is kinda rare. a lot of choreographies have messy formations or goofy steps that stick out sometimes.

something i’ve also noticed is that the title tracks for enha have a lot of popping or movements that involve insane body control and sharp movements. it fits perfectly with jungwon’s natural dance style. however, the choreo for bloody paradise looks a little bit more free and has more body rolls and fluid movements than usual.

i was able to notice this because of sunoo. i was a sunoo voter in iland but since enha debuted, i took rounds biasing all the other 5 members and wondered if i was ever going to have a sunoo phase…i think its here. i highly encourage you all to watch this fancam and truly appreciate his dance style. his straight hair just adds so much flair to the head movements too. this just reminded me of sunoo’s dance style from paradox invasion-very fun to watch.

tw: suicide, death, bullying

im going to be brief about it in case some of you don’t know what happened. there was a fan who biased ni-ki and went to a lot of fansigns and concerts. her name was mina. recently in one of enhypen’s concerts, she tried passing flowers to ni-ki through sunoo and it caused some confusion so sunoo gave it back to her. she later met them in send off and took pictures. we all know ni-ki went live after that and encouraged people to enjoy the concert rather than focusing on interactions with idols.

after this live, mina went on live and expressed disappointment and said that ni-ki ignored asian fans and only focused on american fans. this led to a lot of controversy and people started saying he might’ve been talking about her during the live despite him not taking any names. mina had a past of working as a hostess. within no time, a lot of japanese gossip accounts picked up on this and made it sound sensational and kept mentioning her hostess past as a way to degrade her. fans who were at the concert also mentioned that she was continuously yelling at sunoo to deliver the flowers to ni-ki and her behaviour was inappropriate. i have to mention that nobody knew what happened at the concert and assumed he was talking about all fans. it was after her livestream where she assumed he was talking about her that everyone found her. the situation got worse specifically because of gossip accounts and clout chasing blue tick accounts which were accusing ni-ki of being racist and biased and mina of being an obsessive fan with a controversial past.

she was getting a lot of hate, she apologised but kept posting about it which kept getting attention. few hours ago, she did a livestream. people who watched it claim that she was drinking a lot and after a point moved to the back of the room where a rope and chair were already there and she passed away. police reached after an hour. most of this is from people who watched the livestream but her friend did confirm that she has passed away.

i don’t think i have to explain how messy things are on twitter right now. this community keeps making the same mistake of turning it into an “engenes are toxic” thing which never changes. cyberbullying, sending gore and death threats are extremely common. i have received gore in dms few years ago simply for posting that a certain idol was an it boy. it wasn’t even a fanwar. and asking people to die is so common that i have lost count how many times i’ve seen it online.

i think a lot of idols refrain from speaking out because we never know other people’s mental state. at the same time, its unfair to suppress emotions and let idols suffer mentally to preserve the fans well being. i already know people will be pointing fingers at riki but this just shows that no matter what happens, they shouldn’t speak up. this is a group that has been through levels of harassment that must be a record in recent kpop. he was careful with his words and mentioned all fans in general. i hope this doesn’t come off as me defending someone because im parasocial and blinded by bias. all of you are free to look up tiktoks and posts on X where engenes have been complaining of fans who ruin the experience for everyone else by pushing their way to the front, stealing send off spots, screaming loudly to get noticed, etc. so when he talked about it, people from other fandoms too were appreciative because it is a real thing that happens in concerts.

i think a more productive and absolutely necessary conversation that should happen should be regarding cyberbullying and sure the exaggerated response from engenes. i have seen people physically harass fansites in concert simply for being asian, sasaengs and other fansites who follow idols also receive hate and threats. this is not specific to a group of people. there are fandoms who endlessly bully women day and night. the reason this is blowing up is because people see the consequences of their own behaviour. a lot of fansites simply leave or close their accounts so engenes or other kpop stans think its okay to say whatever they want.

defending her or minimising her actions isn’t genuine either. she definitely made a mistake and she also assumed he was talking about her despite getting a lot of fanservice from him before. what kind of criticism does that warrant? these days its difficult to expect a balanced response from people. its like a cult and everyone wants to say something and get a sense of moral superiority. how do we as a fandom and as a wider audience beyond enhypen, react to such situations? that is important. misogynist behaviour and using a woman’s profession as a drag is never the answer. at the same time, not addressing problematic behaviour is also not acceptable. most of the hate she got was from japanese accounts so this post is merely to spread a message and not to point fingers at anyone.

I often see people posting fancams of female idols these days and expressing horror at how high and unrealistic korean beauty standards are.

I think we need more nuance here. Yes, lookism is a thing and yes even an average korean person has higher beauty standards than other nationalities but celebrities are way more extreme and out of touch. I highly doubt anyone would be name calling a woman who’s not unhealthily thin but is on the lower side of her healthy bmi range. There are multiple female idols who look more muscular and are not typically as skinny as some girls these days and they don’t get bullied.

Sure, all idols get hate. But I’m trying to say that a lot of celebrities go to extremes because they lose grip on reality and chase a level of “beauty” that nobody wants to see but them. Its an obsession and a mental health issue. I’m not diagnosing anyone but all female idols are already on the thinner side. To lose so much weight that their ribs and spines are visible and then put hip pads and have long hair extensions sounds like something out of black mirror. No well adjusted kpop fan wants to see that or considers that the “standard” of beauty no matter which culture they come from. Nobody is expecting idols to look that way.

If you see an idol constantly pursue a certain look or keeps losing weight or goes to extremes, that is not korean beauty standards. Thats illness of some level. Average people don’t pursue that or want that. So lets stop using such phrases. Globally, a lot of people are happy with being within their normal bmi range. I have watched some vlogs and videos and it seems like korean college girls and women prefer being on the lower side of the healthy bmi hence the diet culture and lifestyle. But I can be sure that nobody is aiming to be 35kgs at 27 years old at a height of 5’2. And if they are, its a minority who aren’t looking to be “pretty” but goes deeper than that.

i really like cozy perfumes like vs tease creme cloud and ariana grande’s cloud (blue). are there any similar perfumes which are more long lasting with stronger projection while still having those sweet, airy and clean notes?

Does anyone have recommendations with the main leads who have a more teasing/playful dynamic? I’m not used to reading mangas so preferably an anime or a light novel. I don’t mind the pacing or anything. Just something that is completed and flirty.

the glue tabs that come with press ons are pretty good but they start loosening up when there’s water exposure so after brushing or showering, i can feel the nails lifting.

is there any brand that has good glue tabs that dont come off easily? i do buff my nails and put them in correctly. it still doesn’t work.

i don’t want to use glue because it leaves residue on the nails and i can’t reuse them after that.

I have seen people raise this issue in the comments but its baffling how much frustration and anger indian doctors and residents have but are somehow nowhere to be seen when aspiring doctors are dying because of systemic issues.

I don’t want to see doctors ever complain about how the general public doesn’t raise voice for them when they can’t even show support for a protest that was entirely started because of NEET.

There are kids and women solo travelling from all over the country to delhi and you guys want to say you can’t show support because of an exam? Write the exam. Study. But boosting reels about the topic and commenting on them to increase engagement and awareness is an option too. I don’t see any doctors in the comment sections of these posts.

Please grow a spine. I know medicine as a field requires a lot of dedication and it becomes difficult to keep up with news and politics but you’re a human being and a citizen before your profession. Don’t forget that. Don’t be entitled enough to believe that other people will fight for you.

“Social media doesn’t do anything” Propaganda and media is all half the governments in this world are relying on. Its very naive to assume online engagement and posts don’t have power. Even if you want to prioritise your entrance exams or comfort over travelling to the protest, your likes and comments can boost a post and make it appear on someone else’s feed who might have time to go to the protest.

I see plenty of you all under reels of doctors getting beaten so lets not act like suddenly nobody here uses social media. Mbbs aspirants are future doctors and the youth. They’re humans. Stand for something that might not directly benefit you for once.

A lot of medical graduates and practicing doctors probably went into medicine because it was their dream or passion. That definitely helps you stay focused and do your best.

But I’m sure there are lots of doctors who never planned on becoming one. How did you all get through mbbs and pg? Especially the entrance exams?

I don’t like entrance exams but I do enjoy patient interaction, I enjoy studying during semesters and I have a specialty I like. My genuine interest and curiosity lies elsewhere and I have other hobbies. I feel like the only way to study like there’s no tomorrow is to be blinded by how much you want to be a consultant or a surgeon. I’m sure I want to do residency and become a specialist but it doesn’t feel like life or death to me and its not something that I’m extremely passionate about so studying 10 hours doesn’t come naturally to me. Its so tiring to force it.

So for those of you who still like being a doctor but you aren’t crazy about it, how did you prepare so intensely and how did you stay dedicated? Is it just discipline?
