It makes no sense for the man to stay around after he was proven wrong about redemption. After all, his ego can barely take being wrong.

So my theory is that he doesn’t actually care about redemption all that much. Alastor is there because he knows the REAL reason why Charlie has this dream.

My theory for what that real reason is, is that Charlie’s ultimate goal is to be seen as a competent ruler independent of her parents. Redeeming sinners is just a means to an end for her. Think about it! Creating a successful redemption program to give sinners the option of ascending to Heaven would give Charlie a massive legitimacy boost. This explains why Charlie lost her mind when Vox started slandering the hotel. She could’ve ignored him, but her ego was too bruised to let it go.

Charlie says that all of their guests are like family, yet she bluntly asked Rooster (a guest at the hotel) “Who are you?” to his face, even though Vaggi told her that he has been there the whole time. I doubt that ALL of her guests feel like Charlie’s family.

Then there are Husk and Niffty. Charlie is the princess of Hell, and she’s loaded (the scene where she gives Cherri Bomb a stack of cash in the first season serves as proof of this). Obviously, Charlie can afford to hire hellborn staff to cater to the guests and clean the hotel. Why doesn’t she do this? Why does she instead rely on forced labor provided by Alastor? I’ll tell you why— because this whole hotel is just a means to an end.

That is where Alastor’s presence at the hotel ties into my theory. Charlie doesn’t HAVE to rely on labor provided by Husk and Niffty. She could give Alastor a new job— supervising hellborn staff. Why doesn’t she do that? Well, this goes back to my earlier point.

This is why I believe Alastor sticks around. He sees through Charlie and he knows that there’s some selfishness hidden inside of her dream. He’s waiting for the day when she realizes her own hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance, and it’ll amuse him.

I personally don’t see this happening, but it’s a funny hypothetical. What do you think?

Niffty is covered in rat blood here and was shown stabbing a rat corpse before this apple tree-looking sinner asked her to stab her. Now why would the apple tree sinner want to be stabbed with a knife that was already covered in rat blood?

I think we’ve found someone crazy enough to be a real friend for Niffty. Maybe even a best friend!

It looks like Velvette is one of those “the rules for thee don’t apply to me” types of people.

I think it was Frank that told Sir Pentious that Carmilla (the knife lady) had killed an angel. Alastor told him to keep it secret, which Frank immediately acknowledged after blurting it out to Pentious.

If Pentious actually listened to Frank and told Charlie about it, to prove that he really does see her as a friend now, then how much would Alastor’s plan have changed? If Charlie learned that angels could be killed from Pentious, then Alastor lost an opportunity to make that deal with her. Would he have been stuck with Rosie if not for Pentious’s decision not to listen to Frank?

Jackie Chu forgot their egg rolls, chicken, and rice. Is he DUMB?

Carrion? REALLY? This isn’t cooked, and this isn’t breakfast. I thought he was a competent cook!

Imagine his mom seeing him eat like this, after she spent all of those hours toiling in the kitchen and teaching him how to make authentic Creole cuisine. Not to mention the fact that he has magic and can conjure up normal ingredients if he wants to. He’s just being weird.

I can tell that this weirdness isn’t for attention, though. He was doing this in the privacy of his own room, before Vaggi barged in.

Al was just minding his own business with his drink. Lucifer started antagonizing him on sight. He minimized everything Al did to help the hotel, rubbed salt in the wound by taunting Al about his fight with Adam, and he even tried to drag Angel Dust into it (who wasn’t paying attention to them).

Other than the obvious passive aggression from the mug he chose for his drink, Al was being very cordial and surprisingly patient. If I were in this situation, I would’ve ignored him and walked away as soon as he started with the rage bait. I guess Al took the bait because he was in pain here.

No one in my office knows who he is, but a few of my coworkers smiled when they saw this.
