Cigar of the day

I’m new to cigars, this is my third ever cigar. I really enjoy chocolate undernotes and this one is nice. This is probably a beginner cigar, do you have any recommendations?

Afraid to up my utilization. Advice needed.

I’m new to building credit, and for the last few months have seen a very high increase in my credit score.

Monthly I post around 8% utilization. I have 2 cards and do AZEO. This month bills hit me a little harder, and instead of making my credit post as 8% I’m going to have to let it post as a higher rate, I’m afraid my credit will drop a noticeable amount. I worked very hard for my current score of 678. So my question is, will me paying off the statment balance only this month, and then letting the remaining balance post on my report affect me negatively?

Butt dialed a coworker that dislikes me outside of work hours.

Long story short it’s 7am, my coworker doesn’t start work until 10am, I’m getting off a shift as I’m typing this and just opened my phone to see that I butt dialed a coworker who doesn’t like me very much (I’m not sure why, they’re just super weird towards me). Both calls lasted 2 minutes before they hung up the phone. I’m not sure what to do. I’ll be running into them tomorrow and feel super embarrassed about this situation, what do I do? Is it worth sending a short message apologizing for it and saying it was an accident or no?

$100 CLI, I have questions

I have a Capital one Savore one card, I’m requesting a CLI, but they will only approve me for an additional $100 (making my current $300 into $400). I’m wondering if it’s even worth accepting this CLI. I’m assuming my card is bucketed and will only get the $100 increases yearly.

I’m in rebuild, and have 2 cards. (1 secured from BOA with a 200 limit and the savor one with 300 limit). It doesn’t look like I’ll be approved for any cards currently, I’ve done a few soft pulls and it seems like I’m in an odd place.

Current credit :676

Facebook market place

I’m convinced most of Facebook marketplace has brain worms. 4k for a clapped out 2010 yz250f with “only carb issues, can’t get it to start” these people aren’t fucking real. News flash it’s been 7 years since the spike of the covid market, no one’s buying these shit bikes. Your better off financing a brand new bike from a local dealer.

+240 points in a year

All of this is possible because of the free knowledge in this subreddit. If you would’ve asked me a year ago how to get my credit up I wouldn’t of known.

I stumbled across this subreddit randomly one day last June and have since applied what I’ve learned. I’m hoping to reach 700s in a couple of months.

What I did:

  1. Disputed errors on my credit report.
  2. Paid off all collections (pay for delete)
  3. Applied for a secured card.
  4. Set up autopay on all bills.
  5. 6 months later I applied for a non secured card (capital one savor)

Believe it or not this is all I did. I use my credit cards how I please and pay my statement balance in full each month.

Regretting getting a Type R.

After owning my 2025 CTR for the last 5 months I can honestly say I regret this purchase. The car drives awesome, the gear box is great.. but it’s honestly not worth the price tag. Does it look nice, yes it does. Does it turn heads? sometimes. But this car is not worth the $46,000 price tag. And I honestly feel like people over hype it. I feel like I got a pretty solid deal on it, I’ve seen people pay upwards of 52k for this car and I can’t even imagine paying 46k again for it. If it wasn’t for the cult like community of the CTR owners this car would never ever keep its hype. That’s my rant.

This post will 100% piss everyone off. I apologize for my honesty

How can I become comfortable with carrying a loaded firearm

I 22M recently got my LTC. I’ve shot guns since childhood and my grandfather drilled into me about gun safety as a child. Over the last month or 2 I’ve been carrying almost daily, I’m using the enigma holster which is appendix carry, holstering my Glock 43x mos. I feel like I lack confidence to carry with one in the chamber, and I’m almost terrified I’ll acidentally slip up and shoot myself. Not that I should, but I feel like I have little to no confidence with having my own firearm after being around guns my entire life. I’ve shot my gun multiple times at the range and feel comfortable shooting it, but carrying it makes me feel anxious. Maybe it having a loaded firearm pointed at my balls, or maybe it’s just me being anxious about the huge responsibility of having my own weapon now. What can I do to fix this?

Edit: I wanted to add that I never unholster it, even when putting it away the gun and holster go in my safe together. When I clean it, I remove the chambered round and then load another into when finished.

Hot take: I think Nikki only liked bear because of the wish.

I just left the theatre after watching OBSESSION for the second time, because the first time left me with questions. I came to a realization that Nikki only became obsessed with bear because of the one wish willow. I’m not sure if she would have been Obsessed otherwise. What’s your opinion on this, feel like I might be going crazy over this theory. 9.5/10 movie though, would recommend.

Having no friends is better than having friends.

Society treats being alone like it’s a problem that needs to be fixed.. I disagree.

When you have friends, you open yourself up to drama, betrayal, disappointment, obligations, and people wasting your time. The more people you let into your life the more opportunities there are for conflict and stress..

One sided friendships are especially draining. You’re always the one reaching out first, checking in, making plans and trying to keep the relationship alive while they put in little to no effort. After a while, it starts to feel less like a friendship and more like a job.

When you have no friends, you answer to nobody. You don’t have to worry about being left on read, being excluded from plans, lending people money, getting dragged into drama, or wondering whether people actually value you as much as you value them.

I’m not saying good friends don’t exist. They absolutely do. But I’d rather have no friends at all than surround myself with people who only show up when it’s convenient for them. The peace of being alone is worth more than a long list of half hearted friendships.

HELP! Charge offs on credit report.. is a good will letter me wasting my time?

3 years ago at the age of 19 I broke my leg and was out of work for 4 months, during this time I had no money, lost my job and didn’t even think of my credit due to the headspace I was in. My credit card went late with no payments until it was charged off. After I recovered from the injury I worked again, paid off the cards balance and didn’t touch credit for a while.

Now at 22 I know how to build credit (I taught myself because everyone in my family is clueless and financially irresponsible) and realized that a goodwill letter is the only way from me to break out of 650s jail. I do everything right now, but this is holding my score back.

Will goodwill letters even be worth my time due to this being a CO. HELP!

I’ve been shot, and survived AMA

2 years ago I was shot, nearly died but survived. I was out with a group of friends at a local bar when one of my friends (at the time, no longer friends with him) got into an altercation with another man. One thing led to another and they started fighting outside. I tried to break it up by getting in the way and got shot. AMA about it, I’m an open book.

21YOM no cardiac hx possible RBB?

I’m an EMT, for fun I did a 12L on myself. Now I’m a questioning a RBB? Is there anything else that I’m not seeing through this ecg?

u/flacid_thirdarm — 1 month ago

Read my ecg.. possible RBB?

21YOM, no cardiac history. I’m in medic school and for shits and giggles I took a 12L, no symptoms. I noticed what I marked out. Is this the beginning of a RBB? I’m otherwise healthy. Do you see anything my brain can’t pick up?

u/flacid_thirdarm — 1 month ago

What to do from here? 22YOM trying to build credit.

I’ve pulled my credit report on anualcreditreport.com I have 0 collections, and 2 credit cards currently. My most recent card is 2 months old.. I don’t plan on opening any other credit cards anytime soon because I want my account to age. My current score is 672 on credit wise, 661 on my fico, and 658 on Experian.

I found the issue with my credit. I have late payments on an old card which I paid off last year as “pay as agreed”. Now I’m in the predicament of having to write goodwill letters in hopes I can get the negative payment history off my account and allow my credit to continue to go up.. Is this all I can do from here, Good will letters and pray they work? Or is there anything and I mean anything else to do.

My credit has gone up approx 100 points within the last 6 months of me paying on time and doing things right.

Need some financial advice and redirection.

I 22M have $1700. This is all the money I have to my name. 22/hr is an unlivable wage, and I’m feeling extremely lost and not sure what my next steps will be, looking for any advice.

My monthly take home: $4,957 before Massachusetts taxes the living hell out of me.

My expenses:
$475 car payment
$250 car insurance
$800 monthly rent (to my parents.. yes I pay them rent)
$200 monthly groceries.
$40 student loans
$25 self builder loan
$150 misc credit spending (using my CC for utilization posting)

My career: 911 EMT, I feel like I can’t do this job much longer with the low pay and overworking. I’m having to work an extra 24hrs of OT on top of my base pay to try and have a little more money.. but then I have no time for myself.

I’m growing to hate this career

Im not sure where to start. And I know this post will upset some people, and others will tell me to leave my current service and move to a slower one, or to branch over to fire.. you know the typical answers everyone gives.

But I think I’m starting to burn out. Everything from the frequent callers, the constant bullshit, the drama and politics within departments.. it’s all tiring. Getting little to no sleep on 24hour shifts, and then the second I slip into sleep I have a 82YOF who got shit faced and fell. I just cannot deal with humans anymore and it’s starting to effect not only my patience but also I’m starting to feel extremely bitter towards people.

An example of this is a call I went to yesterday. Just to paint you a picture: I’ve been on 21 hours out of my 24hr shift getting slammed all day, I finally got to bed and slept for an hour before dispatch calls my station and tells us a 73yo is requesting ems due to full body pain. When I get there the guy shows zero signs of pain and is walking around and trying to pack bags to goto the hospital because “I’ll be there for 3 days, I know I will”.. so after standing in the hallway and watching him pack razors, shaving cream, 20 chargers, and sugar free candies, I told him it’s better he leaves the bag at home so the hospital doesn’t lose it. Both him and his wife lost it on me, and state “he needs his sugar free candy”! I’m so glad your in so much pain that the biggest concern right now is packing sugar free Hershey bars. On the way to the hospital I was asked about 15 times if I can put a good word into the doctor so he can get perscribed oxycodone…

Long story short he was triaged and discharged 2 hours later from the hospital. What I forgot to mention up there^ was he’s called the last 4 days for the same exact issue.

The abuse of this career has made me hate humans.. but mostly the elderly. I can’t stand old people anymore. This career has so much potential, but majority of EMS providers are too stagnant and lazy to put any effort towards making it better, so they’ll instead complain about pay and poor working conditions but make no efforts to try and fix it.

Will this hurt my chances of being hired?

Long story short today I went 85 in a 50. Yes I know this is bad and I shouldn’t have done it, but on the bright side I was given a written warning. Will this show up on my record still when the background investigations for hiring happen? I’m current applied to a few departments?

Wanting to hit 700s by the end of 2026. What can I do to get there?

I’d love to be in the 700s in the next 2 months, if that’s unrealistic before the end of 2026 would be the goal.

Credit wise shows my score to be 674 while Experian has it at 663. Regardless this is showing how my credit looks currently, I have no collections, almost 2 years since my last late payment and my most recent cards have been opened within the last 2 months. I’d love to have more cards or just cards with a greater balance (my current cards are $300 and it feels like nothing. I’ve requested higher balances but have gotten denied since the accounts are new. What else can I do from here to get to 700s? And tips or advice?
