One of my players painted this for me during a campaign where I was DM. The characters had befriended a friendly brass dragon at the time. The beholder liquid core dice are my main set but the plain colors are how I play with my kids and also teach new players. I've got 10 sets all matching and I can say to roll the white d12.
I've (39M) gotten myself into a situation where I'm about to be fired. I'm significantly overpaid for what I do so I'll be taking a large pay cut anywhere else, over 50% from what I've seen so far. I support five people including two kids and we bought the first real house they've ever lived in last year. How do I prepare for something like this? How do I prepare my family for going back to shitty apartments? How do I tell my sick MIL that we persuaded to retire and move in with us that I can't take care of her?
My minions are interested in my SCX10.3 and want their own crawlers now. We only do trail crawling, no steep rocks really, but lots of mud, tree roots, loose dirt and stream crossings. I'm hoping to find a unicorn here of something I can repair and upgrade but that also costs less than my truck. They don't need anything fancy like two-speed gearboxes or locking diffs. I was looking at the TRX4M but I'm not sure if a 1/18 can handle PNW forests.
My kids want trail crawlers to take out hiking with us. We don't do any serious steep rock climbing but light mud, tree roots, occasional steam crossings and stones are common. My Axial SCX10.3 handles things just fine but I'm sure as hell not buying three of those.
I work at a Technology Help Desk. Fancy tech support, basically. I have to bill any clients that call in for my time but I work nights (I'm literally the only night shift worker) and sometimes I'll go a few days without a ticket coming in. I've been doing this for a year and billing my down time (I have to bill 100% of my time) to reviewing documentation, basically just going over guidance and policies, per the instruction of someone no longer with the company.
I was just told, in writing, that going forwards I have to use PTO for any time spent not actively working on a ticket. Keep in mind I have to be logged in and at my desk so I'm ready for calls to come in. I've got enough PTO to get me through about two weeks. They said failure to use my PTO will be seen as willfully defrauding the client.
What do I do?

Update: I went over my boss's head to The Big Boss who, again, put it in writing that I have to use PTO. I'm not sure why these people keep doing this. HR and the state Labor Board are next. Thank you all for your guidance.
I've got three Mojave Groms and when I power them on, they're binding seemingly randomly. I'll wind up with one transmitter that controls 2 or 3 cars. I've tried binding one, testing that it works, then the second car will immediately bind to the same radio. How do I solve this?
Sure it took us four days, but the kids and I have finished our RTA kits. My daughter (10, yellow) and son (8, silver) had to adhere to a totally unfair rule that if anyone cried, we stopped working for an hour. That came up surprisingly often.
I finished the RTA kit this morning. Review to follow. The paint is Tamiya PS-46 with a black backer. I've yet to run it because the kids are still working on theirs.
The entire book has the wrong screw sizes. It says 2mm are 2.5mm and 1.5mm are 2mm. This caused me to jam the wrong size screw into a hole once or twice. The included 2mm screwdriver rounded off halfway through. The flathead screws holding the polycarbonate to the inner shell are easy to over tighten and stretch the holes out. The black pre-painted sections don't have clean lines in a few places and they're the same on every body. The edges of the polycarbonate are ragged in a few places that had to be trimmed up with a blade. Some bags aren't labeled and there's a separate sheet with steps that are missing from the main manual
I built the Gorgon RTA kit and had zero problems. I'm disappointed.
I've got six 2s and 3s Ovonic batteries and a no-name "C150" balance charger. They're all 5200 mAh and I set the charger to 5.2A. About half the time, they charge as intended. The other half, same settings, still on Balance Charge, it sticks at 1.0A and takes 4+ hours. I started using stickers to track the fast versus slow batteries but it's not consistent. It'll charge fast once and slow the next time, or slow then fast.
Will a better charger solve this issue? Right now if I need everything charged it takes two days.
My group was in a bit of a combat rut lately so I put them against three stained glass golems at the same time. The golems became immune to the last damage type they took, so the first Eldritch Blast or melee attack or whatever did normal damage, then the next attack did nothing. I also had the golems offering a support aura. The players named them Buff, Kill and Tank. Buff boosted saving throws to itself and any other golems nearby. Tank boosted AC and Kill boosted attack bonuses.
The end result was that I had six characters coordinating attacks, spells, and held actions so nothing was wasted, while trying to keep the (large) constructs separated in a fairly tight room for a big fight.
The warlock never did figure out to aim one Eldritch Blast at each golem 😁 but he's special.
They're also 9-10 years old. I decided to run a summer campaign for my daughter and a couple friends. They found kobolds stealing spoons in session one, murdered them all, AND ATE THEM, and it went downhill after that. We've had five deaths so far and they're level 2 playing Dragon of Icespire Peak. The only NPC they haven't murdered is the waitress and they discussed killing her for 20+ minutes because she seemed suspicious.
Last night they went to Gnomengarde for magical items to use against Cryovain. Naturally they attacked and killed the first people they met without speaking to them first - the inventors of the magical items - and alerted the guard, then refused to run away, then refused to surrender, then TPK'd in a blaze of glory because the stat block for those gnomes says every one of them knows magic missile.
I'm looking for any and all tips, tricks and house rules to try and salvage this.
Edit: Thank you all for the feedback. I'm apparently part of the problem because I'm expecting this to run like my adult groups run. I'm trying something new based on some suggestions. We're making goblins and I'm not even going to prep anything. Just, "Hey kids, what do you want to do today?" and improv. It'll be good practice for me.
The body is too short for the frame but Horizon says it'll fit. I've found that I can shorten the rails, but I also need new links. How do I find the length for the new links? I'd also like to go high clearance if I'm already changing them. Thanks!
My 8.5 year old has been begging for a crawler but he wants us to build it together. We have no experience with this kind of thing aside from building a RTA Arrma Gorgon kit. How feasible is this? Can I get everything from somewhere cheap like Injora or will this be a bigger issue to shop for?
What causes this? The teeth are super worn down. I was running my brushed Gorgon on some medium grass and it started making a grinding noise. The pinion had come off despite some red Loctite and this is my spur gear.
It's a cheap and easy repair, I just want to avoid doing it again in the future.
I'm a newb at painting. This is only my second body. I was going for watermelon which will make sense if you're a 90's country music fan but it really looks pretty crap to me. I did it with rattle cans and masking tape, intending to do the stripe down the middle longways but the body has weird shapes in the truck bed that I couldn't figure out how to tape. The white is on the outside because I put the paint down in the wrong order. Is there any way to salvage this or should I strip it?
The truck is a trail crawler (thus the Watermelon Crawl) and all I was really hoping for is to make a couple people smile when they get the joke.

Why is Pro-Line Cliffhanger body shorter than the SCX10.3 chassis? The Axial website says it fits. This isn't even about the bumpers, I mean the chassis rails are about an inch too long.
I've tried changing the format and resolutions. What's going on? I need this map! It's a fantasy battle map if that matters.
I'm pretty happy with the lights but not with how big of a hole the bar required. The cable has some kind of chip in the middle that's about 0.4" wide.
I tried to install a light kit tonight and three people failed to get the plug to go into one of the aux channels. I even pulled the lights off my other Arrma and tried to plug them in and it wouldn't work. It looks like it has these tiny little corners inside the slots, like they're not perfect rectangles maybe? I assume I'm just being an idiot but what's the secret here?
